Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the Numeracy Game (GANU) using the STEAM approach on the numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years old. This research method employs a quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental design known as the nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study consist of 40 children from 2 kindergartens in Sukolilo District, Surabaya. Data was collected through non-participant observation techniques. The data analysis in this study utilized independent t-test. The research findings indicate that the Numeracy Game (GANU) learning with the STEAM approach yielded a sig. value of 0.000 or (2-tailed) 0.05, which means that the null hypothesis  is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the STEAM approach using the Numeracy Game (GANU) in enhancing the numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years old.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of character education in early childhood through social interaction and the introduction of counting. Character education at an early age is very important in shaping moral, ethical and social values that become the foundation of a child's personality. Through a qualitative method with a literature study approach, this research analyzes various findings regarding character education obtained from various related studies. The results show that character education can be strengthened through social interaction activities such as group games, collaborative projects and daily activities that involve values such as cooperation, responsibility and empathy. In addition, the early introduction of numeracy also plays a role in supporting children's character development, as numeracy teaches children to think critically, solve problems and work together in facing challenges. Project-based learning is proven to be effective in integrating numeracy and character. This study also found the importance of parents and teachers in supporting children's character development at home and at school. The conclusion of this study confirms that character education through social interaction and numeracy can create a generation that is smart, has integrity, and is ready to face life's challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pelatihan guru dalam mendukung implementasi pendidikan inklusif di satuan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD). Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada meningkatnya jumlah anak usia dini dengan kebutuhan khusus dan pentingnya peran guru dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah sejauh mana pelatihan guru mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan sikap yang dibutuhkan dalam menyelenggarakan pendidikan inklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka melalui analisis terhadap jurnal-jurnal ilmiah terkini yang diperoleh dari sumber bereputasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi untuk mengidentifikasi pola, tema, dan hubungan antar konsep yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan guru memiliki kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan efikasi diri, kompetensi pedagogis, serta kesiapan dalam menghadapi keberagaman peserta didik. Pelatihan yang sistematis, kontekstual, dan berorientasi praktik nyata terbukti efektif mendukung keberhasilan pendidikan inklusif di PAUD. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya kebijakan pelatihan guru berbasis bukti dan dukungan berkelanjutan agar pelaksanaan pendidikan inklusif di tingkat PAUD dapat berjalan secara optimal dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas media unplugged coding dalam meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi dan berpikir kritis anak usia 5–6 tahun. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group, melibatkan 40 anak dari TK Islam Al-Azhar Surabaya yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu eksperimen dan kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan perlakuan pembelajaran menggunakan media unplugged coding, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak. Instrumen berupa lembar observasi dan Lembar Kerja Anak digunakan untuk menilai perkembangan computational thinking dan problem solving. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen, baik dalam kemampuan berpikir komputasional (dari rata-rata 32,15 menjadi 43,20) maupun kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah (dari 29,50 menjadi 40,10). Analisis uji-t bahwa media unplugged coding efektif dalam menstimulasi keterampilan kognitif anak. Pembelajaran berbasis permainan non-digital terbukti memberi pengalaman eksploratif yang kontekstual dan menyenangkan sesuai tahap perkembangan anak. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan inovatif seperti unplugged coding dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran efektif dalam pendidikan anak usia dini untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi.

Abstract

This research abstract discusses the application of the philosophy of humanism in early childhood learning (ECD). The purpose of the study is to explore how the principles of humanism are applied in the context of children's education, emphasizing respect for human dignity and the development of children's full potential. The method used is qualitative research with a literature study approach, where data is collected through searching relevant sources such as journals, books and scientific articles. Data analysis was conducted through theme reduction and clustering, with triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the information. The results show that the application of the philosophy of humanism in ECD involves child-centered learning, with attention to individual needs, both emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The learning process in PAUD focuses not only on cognitive development, but also on character building and moral values, such as honesty and empathy. Educators play an important role in creating an environment that supports children's holistic development, as well as providing freedom to explore according to their individual potential. In conclusion, the philosophy of humanism makes an important contribution to ECD learning that is inclusive and democratic, supports character building, and facilitates children's optimal personal development. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana prinsip-prinsip humanisme diterapkan dalam konteks pendidikan anak, dengan menekankan penghargaan terhadap martabat manusia dan pengembangan potensi anak secara menyeluruh. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui pencarian sumber-sumber relevan seperti jurnal, buku, dan artikel ilmiah. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi dan pengelompokkan tema, dengan teknik triangulasi untuk memastikan validitas informasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan filsafat humanisme dalam PAUD melibatkan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada anak, dengan memperhatikan kebutuhan individu, baik secara emosional, sosial, maupun intelektual. Proses pembelajaran di PAUD tidak hanya berfokus pada perkembangan kognitif, tetapi juga pada pembentukan karakter dan nilai-nilai moral, seperti kejujuran dan empati. Pendidik berperan penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung perkembangan holistik anak, serta memberi kebebasan untuk bereksplorasi sesuai dengan potensi masing-masing. Kesimpulannya, filsafat humanisme memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pembelajaran PAUD yang inklusif dan demokratis, mendukung pembentukan karakter, dan memfasilitasi perkembangan pribadi anak secara optimal.

Abstract

Responsive parenting and balanced nutrition are essential factors supporting the holistic development of early childhood. This study examines the influence of these two factors on children’s independence and stunting prevention using a quantitative correlational approach involving 46 parents at KB RA Mina Jadid, Mojokerto. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results show that responsive parenting (4.46), balanced nutrition (4.33), and children’s independence (4.25) fall into the high category. Strong positive correlations were found between responsive parenting and independence (r = 0.71), balanced nutrition and independence (r = 0.76), as well as between parenting and nutrition (r = 0.77). Anthropometric measurements also indicate that most children fall within the normal growth range. These findings confirm that responsive parenting and balanced nutrition significantly contribute to enhancing children’s independence and reducing the risk of stunting.
