Abstract

Hemoglobin is a (metalloprotein) iron-containing protein found in red blood cells giving red blood cells their color. Hemoglobin consists of iron which is an oxygen carrier. Iron-containing proteins enable red blood cells to transport oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Checking hemoglobin levels is one of the routine blood tests needed to diagnose a disease. The purpose of examining hemoglobin levels is to determine hemoglobin levels in the blood, help diagnose anemia, determine body fluid deficits due to increased hemoglobin levels. Methods for examining hemoglobin levels include the Tallquist method, which is an examination based on blood color because Hb plays a role in giving red color to blood erythrocytes, so this examination is carried out by comparing the red color of blood to a standard color where the hemoglobin concentration is known in percent (%) . The results of this Haemoglobin (Hb) examination activity were very smooth and safe according to plan based on the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Defense University of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Red Cross of Bogor City in the framework of the XV Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Defense University.

Abstract

Basic life support is the initial treatment for victims of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Basic life support includes several skills, namely recognizing sudden cardiac arrest, asking for help immediately, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and even in some countries the use of AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) has been introduced. This community service activity aims to improve the ability of Tri's Maros Health Vocational School students to simulate the implementation of basic life support. Participants who took part in this activity were very enthusiastic about participating in the simulation activity of implementing basic life support. The results of community service activities show that the majority of students' knowledge before carrying out the basic life support simulation is poor, after carrying out the basic life support simulation the majority of their knowledge is good, the majority of students' skills before carrying out the basic life support simulation are lacking. It is hoped that the management of Tri's Maros Health Vocational School will carry out regular basic life support training plans, provide tools and materials such as CPR pantoms for babies, children and adults for students to use to practice basic life support actions in order to increase students' knowledge in providing basic life support to patients in emergency conditions.

Abstract

Cardiac Arrest or cardiac arrest is a condition of sudden loss of heart function to pump blood. This causes a lack of oxygen distributed throughout the body, especially to the brain and heart. If the brain lacks oxygen, brain cells will die and result in loss of consciousness. The purpose of the activity is to minimize the occurrence of disability or even death in victims who experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and the community is able to provide first aid to save the victim, alleviate the victim's suffering and prevent further harm until better assistance is provided and bring the victim to the nearest medical team to reduce the level of morbidity and mortality. The results of this PkM activity have increased the health status and independence of the community with indicators that the community's ability to practice basic life support procedures for cardiac arrest. The conclusion is that health education is to improve health status, prevent the onset of disease and increase health problems.

Abstract

Fracture is defined as a broken bone caused by trauma or physical force, and can occur due to excessive pressure compared to the bone's ability to withstand pressure. Injuries due to accidents in the school environment generally occur in the musculoskeletal system and must be treated quickly and appropriately. If not, it will cause more severe injuries and can trigger bleeding. To prevent injury to the musculoskeletal system, splint bandages are needed through Education. The purpose of this Community Service is to Assist and Improve Students' Knowledge About Bone Fractures with Simulation and as a learning that can determine the level of success of students in carrying out cardiopulmonary respiratory training in improving knowledge and skills. The health education method on fracture handling simulations so that students are able to make efforts to prevent disability and complications due to fractures and enable students to carry out initial examinations and initial treatment for fracture victims. The results of this activity received a good response from students as the target of community service activities. The conclusion that the implementation of community service followed by students showed an increase from sufficient knowledge to good knowledge. However, there needs to be monitoring and providing other materials so that it can motivate students to be more active and know about emergency handling.
