Abstract

Culture media is one useful aspect for the development of microalgae. Adding fertilizer to the culture media can affect the density of Chlorella sp. When carrying out culture, it is necessary to have liquid organic fertilizer (POC) which is easy to obtain and found in nature, especially liquid organic fertilizer made from a fermented mixture of rice water, coconut water and eco enzymes. This research seeks to determine the effect of density of Chlorella sp. by administering liquid organic fertilizer made from rice water, coconut water and Eco enzyme fermentation, we can find out the ideal dose needed for the growth of chlorella sp. The highest throughout the study was obtained in treatment A (dose of 5 ml eco enzyme), which was followed by treatment C (does 12 ml/l POC + 2 ml/l eco enzyme), treatment B (does 8 ml/l POC + 2 ml/l eco enzyme), and the lowest in treatment D (dose 16 ml/l POC + 2 ml/l eco enzyme). Providing liquid organic fertilizer with rice washing water and coconut water had a significant effect on density of Chlorella sp. (p value <0.05). The highest density occurred on day 6 in treatment C, where a mixture of rice washing water and coconut water containing 5 ml of eco enzyme produced a population density of 6996.67 x 104 cells/ml.

Abstract

This research aims to be a reference for better and regionally characteristic sandfish nursery activities to support sustainable sea cucumber farming. This research was carried out in the waters of Ohoitel village, Tual City, and took place from March – April 2023. 450 sandfish seeds measuring 0.39 – 1.98 gr were stocked in Pen-culture measuring 4 x 3 x 0.7 meters. Pen culture is made of waring and has a cover. Calculation of survival and growth measurements only at the beginning and end of rearing. Water quality measurements (temperature, salinity, and pH) were carried out every week during the research. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the nursery of seeds sandfish measuring 0.39 – 1.98 gr can be done in Pen-culture using a cover. This is because the survival percentage of sandfish chicks raised in Pen-culture is 84 - 86.67% with an average survival percentage of 85.33% and a body weight growth range of 2.54 - 12.97 gr with an average of the average absolute growth in body weight was 6.77 gr. Keywords: Nursery, Sandfish, Pen-culture Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menjadi referensi kegiatan pendederan teripang pasir yang lebih baik dan berkarakteristik daerah guna menopang budidaya teripang secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan desa Ohoitel, Kota Tual dan berlangsung dari Maret 2023 – April 2023. Benih teripang pasir berukuran 0,39 – 1,98 gr sebanyak 450 ekor ditebar pada Pen-culture berukuran 4 x 3 x 0,7 meter. Pen-culture terbuat dari waring dan memiliki penutup. Perhitungan kelangsungan hidup dan pengukuran pertumbuhan hanya pada awal dan akhir pemeliharaan. Pengukuran kualitas air (suhu, salinitas dan pH) dilakukan setiap minggu selama penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendederan anakan teripang pasir berukuran 0,39 – 1,98 gr dapat dilakukan pada Pen-culture dengan menggunakan penutup. Hal ini dikarenakan presentase kelangsungan hidup anakan teripang pasir yang didederkan pada Pen-culture sebesar 84 – 86,67 % dengan rata-rata persentase kelangsungan hidup 85,33 % dan kisaran pertumbuhan berat tubuh sebesar 2,54 – 12, 97 gr dengan rara-rata pertumbuhan mutlak berat tubuh sebesar 6,77 gr. Abstract

Mitra PKM ini adalah Alumni Prodi THP Politeknik Perikanan Negeri Tual, yang memiliki usaha pengolah eby atau nguran kering di kelurahan Masrum Kota Tual. Mitra termasuk alumni Politeknik Perikanan Negeri Tual yang memilih untuk tidak menjadi PNS dan fokus pada usaha pengolahan eby kering. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra tentang masalah produksi, manajemen usaha dan pemasaran yaitu : kualitas eby/nguran yang masih rendah, tidak memiliki peralatan pengolahan, kapasitas produksi yang rendah, kemasan yang tidak menarik dan tidak ada labeling, kontrol kualitas rendah, belum melakukan pembukuan/pencatatan. Kondisi ini menyebabkan pendapatan mitra masih minim. Adapun tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu: membuat produk baru (diversifikasi produk) menjadi Sambal Eby/Nguran, pengadaan alat pengolahan dan alat segel baru, membuat kemasan baru, membuat penyuluhan dan pelatihan pencatatan pembukuan kas sederhana. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah menghasilkan Sambal Eby/Nguran dan publikasi di jurnal nasional dan koran.

Abstract

One of the pathogenic bacteria found in aquatic environments is Vibrio sp., which causes vibriosis. The use of mangkokan leaf extract as an antibacterial agent against Vibrio has not been studied before. The aim of this research was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of mangkokan leaf extract in inhibiting the growth of Vibrio sp. The antibacterial test in this study used the disc diffusion method. In addition, the study also conducted tests for yield and phytochemical analysis. The results showed that mangkokan leaf extract at concentrations of 100% and 75% exhibited moderate antibacterial activity, with average inhibition zone diameters of 8.5 mm and 6.35 mm, respectively. The yield of the ethanol extract from mangkokan leaves was 10.2%. The mangkokan leaf extract contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, steroids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins.

Abstract

Amphiprion ocellaris merupakan salah satu jenis ikan hias yang terkenal di tengah masyarakat Indonesia. Ikan ini dikenal dengan nama ikan nemo, dan digemari karena keindahan warna dan bentuknya yang menggemaskan. Selain kualitas air, tingkat pencahayaan merupakan faktor yang diduga cukup berperan penting dalam hidup ikan nemo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh cahaya buatan dengan intensitas berbeda terhadap parameter pertumbuhan dan laju sintasan ikan nemo. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Hatchery, Politeknik Perikanan Negeri, Tual pada Bulan November - Desember 2023. Ikan nemo sebanyak 30 ekor (jantan dan betina) dengan panjang dan berat awal masing-masing 35±2 mm dan 0,41±0,04 g dipelihara selama 35 hari dan diberikan makan dua kali sehari. Rangkaian penelitian disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan intensitas cahaya berbeda (0, 300, 400, 500, dan 600 lux) dan tiga kali ulangan. Hasil ANOVA dan uji lanjut Duncan secara umum menggambarkan penambahan cahaya dengan intensitas berbeda tidak cukup memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan panjang dan berat mutlak (Lm dan Wm), SGR, serta SR. Cahaya hanya berpengaruh signifikan pada pertumbuhan panjang mutlak dan SGR ikan nemo betina, tepatnya minggu pengamatan ke-1 dan 2 (fase awal pertumbuhan). Pertumbuhan ikan nemo paling baik diperoleh pada lingkungan tanpa cahaya tambahan (0 lux). Kondisi ini menjelaskan bahwa ikan nemo lebih menyukai lingkungan dengan pencahayaan natural. Pengaruh signifikan cahaya pada ikan nemo betina menjelaskan bahwa pola pertumbuhan tubuhnya yang bersifat alometrik positif, sehingga memiliki ciri fenotip lebih gemuk (montok) dari ikan nemo jantan dengan pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif.   Amphiprion ocellaris is one of the most popular ornamental fish and is known as clown anemonefish. It is popular because of its beautiful color and adorable shape. In addition to water quality, light intensity is a factor that is assumed to play an essential role. This study aims to investigate the effect of artificial light with different intensities on growth parameters and survival rate of clown anemonefish. This study, was performed in the Hatchery Laboratory, State Fisheries Polytechnic of Tual (November - December 2023). There were 30 fish (male and female) with length and initial weight of 35±2 mm and 0.41±0.04 g, respectively reared for 35 days and fed twice a day. The studies were arranged using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five different light intensities (0, 300, 400, 500, and 600 lux) and replicated three times. The results of ANOVA and Duncan's multiple further tests illustrated commonly, that different light intensities did not significantly affect the absolute length and weight growth, SGR, and SR. Different light intensives, only showed a significant impact on absolute length growth and SGR clown anemonefish female, precisely in the first and second observation weeks (early growth phase). The best growth was in an environment with no additional light (0 lux). This condition explains that fish prefer an environment with natural lighting. The significant effect in female clown anemonefish is that their body growth pattern is positive allometric and thus makes the female fatter (plump) than the male with a negative allometric growth pattern.

Abstract

Caulerpa racemosa merupakan salah satu komoditas baru yang memiliki potensi tinggi dalam bidang perikanan. Selama ini, pemanfaatannya masih bersifat ekstraktif, yakni dengan cara pengumpulan langsung dari wilayah pesisir, sehingga budidayanya sangat prospektif untuk dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pertumbuhan panjang stolon, panjang ramuli, dan berat total C. racemosa pada empat kedalaman tanam berbeda, yaitu 1 meter, 2 meter, 3 meter, dan dasar perairan (kontrol). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Keramba Jaring Apung Politeknik Perikanan Negeri Tual selama 30 hari, dari 23 Desember 2024 hingga 23 Januari 2025. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga ulangan untuk setiap perlakuan. Pengukuran panjang stolon, ramuli, dan parameter kualitas air dilakukan setiap tiga hari, sementara pengukuran berat dilakukan pada awal dan akhir penelitian. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis keragaman (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pada kedalaman 3 meter (perlakuan C) menghasilkan panjang stolon tertinggi sebesar 35,6 cm dan panjang ramuli tertinggi sebesar 14,7 cm. Sementara itu, berat total tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan kontrol (dasar perairan) sebesar 1,9 kg.

Abstract

Vibrio sp. is an opportunistic pathogenic bacterium that causes vibriosis in fish, shrimp, and seaweed. The use of synthetic antibiotics is everyday; however, resistance is difficult to prevent. The advantages of using natural antibiotics include their availability, environmental friendliness, and cost-effectiveness. This study aimed to utilize a natural material, namely rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) leaf extract, as a candidate to be tested for its antibacterial activity against Vibrio sp. A phytochemical analysis of the rambutan leaf extract was conducted to identify the presence of bioactive compounds that inhibit bacterial growth. The extraction was performed through maceration using 70% ethanol as the solvent. The extract was then diluted in a series of concentrations ranging from 100% to 3.125%. Antibacterial activity was tested using the disk diffusion method on Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Salt Sucrose (TCBS) agar medium. The results showed a potent inhibitory effect at the 100% extract concentration, with an inhibition zone diameter of 24.675 ± 0.53 mm. Potent inhibition was also observed at 75% and 50% extract concentrations, with inhibition zones of 19.95 ± 1.56 mm and 19.225 ± 4.63 mm, respectively. Phytochemical analysis of the rambutan leaf extract revealed the presence of several bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. The study concluded by calculating the extract yield to assess the efficiency of rambutan leaf extraction using ethanol, yielding 7.16 ± 0.14%.

Abstract

Caulerpa racemosa is a type of green macroalgae with high economic value that has the potential to be cultivated intensively. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of planting depth on the vegetative growth of Caulerpa racemosa cultivated in a tarpaulin tank system. Three planting depths were tested: 20 cm, 40 cm, and 60 cm. Vegetative growth parameters observed included Absolute Growth in Weight, Absolute Growth in Stolon Length, and Absolute Growth in Ramuli Length over a defined cultivation period. The results indicated that the 60 cm planting depth yielded the highest vegetative growth, with mean weight reaching 137.67±3.21 g, stolon length 30.04±0.54 cm, and ramuli length 25.29±2.90 cm. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference only in stolon length between the 60 cm and 40 cm treatments, while differences in weight and ramuli length were not statistically significant. Overall, the data suggest that a 60 cm planting depth provides a more stable microenvironment in terms of light intensity, water temperature, and protection from physical disturbances, thereby enhancing biomass accumulation and vegetative structure development in Caulerpa racemosa. Therefore, a planting depth of 60 cm is recommended as the optimal depth for cultivating Caulerpa racemosa in tarpaulin-based culture systems.

Abstract

Tamedan Village is one of the fish producing villages so obtaining raw materials for making fish floss is very easy to obtain. The partner for this activity is the coconut fish floss business group, which is still making shredded meat in a simple way due to a lack of knowledge about the shredded mixer tool which can speed up the processing process, the product packaging is also still very simple and has not been able to market its products widely due to limited knowledge about marketing activities and the lack of it. partner's understanding of business management and there is no bookkeeping yet. The aim of this service activity is Technology Transfer for using tools to make coconut fish floss to make it more practical. Carrying out counseling, training and demonstrations as well as assistance regarding the shredded production process using a shredded mixer, using labeled packaging and simple bookkeeping training. The results of this service activity can provide an understanding of shredded mixer tools, provide skills in processing fish floss and packaging with labels so that the product loks attractive and can increase sales and partner understanding in terms of financial recording.
