Abstract

This study aims to obtain valid, practical, and effective GeoGebra-assisted contextual learning media to improve mathematical critical thinking skills and learning independence of grade VIII students. Assess the mathematical critical thinking skills of grade VIII students after using GeoGebra-assisted contextual learning media. Calculate the learning independence of grade VIII students after using GeoGebra-assisted contextual learning media. ADDIE development research is used. Results of the study: Valid, practical, and successful GeoGebra-assisted contextual learning media improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills and learning independence. Students who learn through contextual LKPD and GeoGebra show a significant increase in their critical thinking skills and mathematical independence

Abstract

This research explores the difficulties faced by mathematics teachers in Sumatra Island in managing learning. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved 91 junior high school teachers through written interviews with 10 open-ended questions. The research results revealed several main difficulties: limited understanding of the independent curriculum, challenges in developing teaching modules, difficulties in determining learning objectives from cognitive-affective-psychomotor aspects, challenges in designing learning that facilitates social-economic-cultural-religious aspects, and obstacles in implementing teaching methods that meet students' needs. Nevertheless, teachers have demonstrated good abilities in time management, facilitating student collaboration, providing feedback, and conducting learning reflections.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh pendekatan Open Ended berbasis Etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Pendekatan Open Ended yang dipadukan dengan nilai-nilai etnomatematika berfokus pada pemecahan masalah yang memungkinkan siswa untuk menghasilkan berbagai solusi dan cara berpikir, sekaligus mengaitkan konsep matematika dengan budaya lokal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Siantar yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang diterapkan pendekatan Open Ended berbasis Etnomatematika di kelas X-2, dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional di Kelas X-3. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan dianalisis menggunakan uji t untuk melihat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang diberi perlakuan dengan pendekatan Open Ended berbasis Etnomatematika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya memperkaya pemahaman matematika siswa, tetapi juga meningkatkan kreativitas mereka dalam memecahkan masalah. Berdasarkan temuan ini, disarankan agar pendekatan Open Ended berbasis Etnomatematika diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa secara lebih optimal.

Abstract

Paloh Naga Agrotourism is a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Data from the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) shows a decrease in the number of visits during the period 2021 to 2024. This study aims to apply a fuzzy matrix model with the CETD (Combined Effective Time Dependent Data) method in analyzing tourist motivation and identifying the most significant motivational factors based on age group. The analysis results show that intellectual factors are dominant in the 15-17 age group. Social factors have a strong influence on the 26-30 age group, at the age of 18-25 the influence of social factors decreases and continues to decline in the 36-60 age group. Competence factors have an influence at the age of 15-17 and lose their influence at the age of 18-30 years. The relaxation factor had a significant influence on the 15-17 age group, especially for the need to escape from daily activities, and for the 26-30 age group the relaxation factor was irrelevant. These insights provide valuable implications that tourism managers tailor to the needs of each age group. Future research could extend the analysis with other demographic variables or advanced quantitative approaches.

Abstract

The ethno-flipped classroom model is a collaborative and student-centered learning model developed by integrating the flipped learning model and the ethnomathematics approach. The implementation of the ethno-flipped classroom model is assisted by Collaborative Cloud Classroom which was developed as a Learning Management System during the implementation of learning. The purpose of this study was to determine student responses to the application of the ethno-flipped classroom model assisted by Collaborative Cloud Classroom for high school students in Gunungsitoli City, Nias Island, North Sumatra Province. This research is descriptive quantitative research with data collection techniques using Likert-scale questionnaires in Small Group and Field Test. The research sample was Gunungsitoli City High School students, namely 25 students in the small group stage and 222 students in the filed test stage. The results showed that 83% of students gave a very good response at the small group stage and 85% of students gave a very good response to the application of the model at the filed test stage. The achievement of the percentage of student responses concluded that the ethno-flipped classroom model assisted by Collaborative Cloud Classroom can be further implemented in the application of other cultural contexts in future research

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop Canva learning media based on Problem Based Learning to improve students' problem-solving abilities and mathematical learning motivation in valid, effective and practical mathematics learning. The method used in this research and development is the Four-D Model. Data can be used from validation questionnaires and student questionnaires. The results of the research show that Canva learning media is valid, practical and successful in improving students' problem-solving abilities and learning motivation. Students who learn from Canva learning media and LKPD show a sufficient increase in their problem-solving abilities and motivation to learn mathematics.
