Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of guided inquiry-based teaching materials assisted by V-Labs to improve students' science literacy after using the V-Lab (Virtual Laboratory). The method in this study is a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design where the sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The selected research sample is X-MIA 1 as the control class and X-MIA 5 as the experimental class. This research was conducted at MAN 2 Deli Serdang in June 2022. The data collection technique used a scientific literacy test. The results showed that there was an effect of guided inquiry-based teaching materials assisted by v-labs in improving students' scientific literacy with the t-test at = 0.05 obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 (p<0.05). The average posttest value is 13.39 and the N-Gain value is 0.69 in the medium category. In addition, it can also be seen an increase in aspects of scientific literacy, namely 82% competence, 63% context and 72% knowledge.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore and evaluate the effects of the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create dan Share) model on the understanding and mastery of physics concepts. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a PRISMA framework, involving stages such as identification, screening, assessing eligibility, and selecting final articles for analysis. Data were gathered from the Scopus, Google Scholar and Garuda databases, focusing on articles published between 2014 and 2024. The search process identified 6 articles relevant discussing the SSCS learning model and its impact on understanding and mastering physics concepts. The results revealed that the SSCS model significantly enhanced the understanding and mastery of physics concepts. Research on the SSCS model focusing on enhancing the understanding and mastery of physics concepts remains highly limited. Therefore, further implementation of this instructional model in physics education is highly recommended.

Abstract

Community service activity programs have been carried out in Sukoreno Village, which include aspects of education, health, and the environment. The activity methods include audiences and observations, seminars and discussions, services and demonstrations, as well as mentoring and evaluation. Community service activities consist of seminars and interactive discussions, practice or demonstration of product making, and health services for the community. In education, the topics presented are motivation for developing potential and delivering materials related to adolescent reproductive health and early marriage. In addition, the handover of the book and bookshelf grants was also given to the Sentolo Satu Health Center. In the health aspect, health checks were carried out for mothers and toddlers, which included anthropometric, hemoglobin, Mantoux examinations, and health consultations. In addition, the provision of materials related to stunting and toddler nutrition was also delivered to the practice of making MPASI using local food ingredients. In the environmental sector, waste management is the main focus, especially the management of organic waste into compost and the creation of biopores. The implementation of community service shows high enthusiasm from the villagers, where discussions on each aspect are attended by many people. This activity requires further assistance to ensure that the understanding of villagers can be implemented. With collaboration from all parties, community service activities in Sukoreno Village are expected to be a breakthrough that is beneficial for residents and improve the quality of life, and can be an example for other community service activities in carrying out real actions.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the 21st century necessitates strong scientific literacy among students, yet Indonesian students' PISA scores in this area remain low. Conventional physics teaching materials often lack interactivity and fail to engage students actively, especially for abstract topics like momentum and impulse. This research addresses the gap by developing guided inquiry-based teaching materials assisted by virtual laboratories (V-Lab) for momentum and impulse, aiming to improve senior high school students' scientific literacy. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method focusing on the define, design, and develop stages. Module feasibility was assessed through validation by material and media experts using questionnaires (1-4 Likert scale), yielding quantitative scores and qualitative feedback. Initial field testing involved 32 10th-grade students and utilized readability questionnaires, learning interest questionnaires, and pre-post science literacy tests, analyzed descriptively. Results showed high feasibility: material expert validation at 91.6% (Very Good) and media expert validation at 84.0% (Very Good). Qualitative feedback affirmed the module's strengths and provided suggestions for refinement. Initial field testing indicated very good student readability (86.3%) and learning interest (82.0%). Science literacy improved from a pre-test average of 45.2% to a post-test average of 75.8%, with a Normalized Gain (N-Gain) of 0.56 (Medium effectiveness). The study concludes that the developed V-Lab assisted guided inquiry teaching materials are highly feasible and effective for enhancing students' science literacy. The module offers a valuable, interactive resource for physics education, with potential for wider application
