Abstract

Life change is an inevitable process in every individual's journey. This paper explores how the principles of spirituality and biblical teachings can provide guidance and meaning in experiencing positive and meaningful life change. Spirituality is viewed as a search for a higher purpose in life, both from a philosophical and Christian religious perspective. The Bible contains many narratives of characters who underwent significant life transformations, such as Paul and Mary Magdalene. Biblical teachings emphasize principles such as repentance, renewing of the mind, living in the Spirit, and sanctification to achieve true life transformation. Philosophy also offers interpretations that enrich the understanding of spirituality and life change, such as the concept of self-denial, achieving higher consciousness, and the pursuit of a more noble life purpose. To experience positive life change, steps such as self-evaluation, goal setting, action planning, self-discipline, and support from a faith community are necessary. The faith community plays a crucial role in providing moral support, accountability, role models, guidance, and resources for its members going through the process of life transformation.

Abstract

In a world full of arguments and opinions, the ability to understand the logic of thinking is a strong foundation for creating persuasive arguments. Logical thinking involves using meaningful rules and principles to form reasonable arguments based on available information. The basic principles of logic, such as the identity principle, the contradiction principle, and the refutation principle, are the basis for consistent and correct reasoning. Understanding and avoiding logical fallacies is also important for developing critical thinking and strong reasoning. In argumentation, logic plays an important role in creating strong and convincing arguments. By using strong evidence, assessing relevance, and thinking critically, you can avoid reasoning errors and create stronger arguments. In argumentation and debate, arguments that are based on logic and strong evidence are generally accepted and taken more seriously by opponents and listeners. Therefore, it is important to develop a good understanding of logical thinking and use it effectively to create strong and convincing arguments. Understanding the basic principles of logic will help you identify weaknesses in arguments, evaluate evidence critically, and create more effective arguments. Thus, logical thinking becomes an important basis for creating strong and convincing arguments.

Abstract

This article explores Christian philosophical views regarding the existence of God through an analysis of various main arguments that have been developed by Christian philosophers. Focusing on ontological, cosmological, teleological, and moral arguments, this article explores how each argument attempts to prove the existence of God through rational and empirical approaches. Ontological arguments, such as those proposed by Anselm of Canterbury, use conceptual reflection to conclude that God must exist. The cosmological argument, popularized by Thomas Aquinas, combines observations of the universe with the logic of causality to demonstrate the existence of a transcendent first cause. The teleological argument, with a major contribution from William Paley, suggests that the complexity and order in the universe indicates the existence of an intelligent designer. Apart from that, this article also highlights the importance of religious experience as subjective evidence of the existence of God. Through a combination of rational argument and spiritual experience, Christian philosophy offers a comprehensive and insightful view of God's existence, making it relevant in contemporary theological and philosophical discussions.

Abstract

On the other hand, from a Christian philosophical perspective, the concept of salvation can be approached through rational thinking and conceptual analysis. Christian philosophy often explores ontological and epistemological questions about the nature of salvation, such as the relationship between human freedom and God's sovereignty, as well as the nature of spiritual truth. This research highlights the differences in sources of authority, methods of truth discovery, and ultimate goals between theological and philosophical approaches to salvation. While theology relies on religious teachings, divine revelation, and religious experience, Christian philosophy tends to use logical reasoning and conceptual analysis. However, these two fields can complement each other in deepening understanding of the concept of salvation, creating creative and in-depth dialogue about the nature of the Christian faith. This research provides valuable insights for theologians, philosophers, and practitioners of Christianity to explore the concept of salvation holistically, combining deep theological understanding with critical philosophical analysis.

Abstract

The concept of absolute truth holds a central role in the Christian tradition. This truth is believed to originate from the word of God revealed in the Bible and His self-revelation through Jesus Christ. From the beginning, there have been efforts to reconcile revealed truth with rational philosophical thought. This article explores the relationship between philosophy and faith in understanding absolute truth according to Christian theology. By examining the thoughts of eminent philosophers and theologians such as Augustine and Aquinas, it discusses how reason can be combined with faith to attain a more comprehensive understanding. Epistemological methods and logical reasoning are employed to study the concept of truth in the Bible and church teachings. Nevertheless, absolute truth remains centered on divine revelation that transcends reason alone. The article also delves into the implications of absolute truth on Christian doctrine, worship, and conduct, as well as the challenges posed by relativism and pluralism. Ultimately, it discusses efforts to reconcile faith and reason, and the defense of absolute truth using rational arguments while maintaining humility. By combining these two aspects, Christians can gain a more comprehensive grasp of the ultimate truth that emanates from God.
