Abstract

The main goal expected by the administrators of the Raharja Farmer Group is to achieve food security in Cibanteng Village. However, the skills related to organic vegetable cultivation and the availability of essential farming materials and tools such as seeds, organic fertilizer, pots, plastic containers, and others are still suboptimal. The community service method involved a series of discussions with representatives of the farmer group, including local residents, retired civil servants, and housewives. These discussions focused on the importance of organic vegetable cultivation techniques, the production of liquid organic fertilizer enriched with phytohormones, and the practical application of planting organic vegetables. Active participation from community members and intensive mentoring, both in person and via online platforms such as WhatsApp, significantly contributed to the success of the program. Residents successfully cultivated and harvested vegetables such as kangkung and pakcoy in their home gardens. This not only increased their organic vegetable consumption but also had a direct impact on reducing household expenses. The harvest enabled savings on vegetable purchases for up to one week and promoted household-level food independence. Evaluation results indicate that the program met the needs of the community partners and effectively reduced their reliance on local markets. Additionally, the use of shallot waste as liquid fertilizer improved soil fertility and ensured the quality of the organic crops. This success demonstrates the potential for long-term sustainability if managed properly through the institutional support of the farmer group.

Abstract

The cocoa plant is the main ingredient in the manufacture of chocolate and its de-rivative products. The demand for cocoa derivative products is always high in line with the globalization of food and beverages made from chocolate. Traditional co-coa cultivation techniques are the main priority for farmers and the handling of Vascular Streak dieback (VSD) pests is a top priority for farmers. The purpose of this service is to improve the economy of cocoa farmers in Poli-Polia Village, Poli-Polia District, East Kolaka Regency. The method used is discussion, practice and demonstration material. The results of the shoot grafting technique for cacao seed-lings and the manufacture of organic fertilizers increase the productivity of cocoa plants and the results of turmeric extract can directly deal with VSD diseases that attack cocoa plants. In practice, the method of processing and the efficacy of tur-meric extract is the cause of not developing VSD disease in cocoa plants. On the other hand, cocoa yields can be sold at a high value based on training in harvesting techniques and how to improve the quality of cocoa beans.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to cultivate students and teachers in schools planting organic vegetables with maximum yields on narrow school land which is beneficial for the health of students. The method used is Active and Participatory Learning with material discussions, practices and demonstrations. The results of this service provide an increase in students' and teachers' understanding of the importance of cultivating organic vegetable farming. On the other hand, being able to educate students from an early age in maintaining health by consuming organic vegetables can be done from the simplest thing, namely by cultivating organic vegetables vertically. Understanding in using this technique of providing verticulture is strengthened because only with a narrow 3 x 4 m land can cultivate vegetables with maximum yields of organic vegetable harvests. Besides being able to cultivate organic vegetable farming, the verticulture technique itself can also provide a beautiful atmosphere. So that it can spoil school students and provide a calm and comfortable atmosphere for students in the school environment.

Abstract

The implementation of service at Cendrawasih II High School focuses on the organic vegetable planting system with hydroponic and verticulture methods. The method used is Participatory Learning through Participatory teachers and school partner students with discussion, practice and demonstration materials. The results of the dedication explain the hydroponic method system, a plant technique that is grown in a nutrient solution consisting of a mixture of water and all the essential nutrients needed by plants for optimal growth. For the verticulture method system, a farming technique in which plants are planted vertically in multilevel containers or multilevel structures. Growing vegetables in verticulture can be a good solution to make efficient use of space, but its success depends on good planning, consistent care, and proper selection of plants. Verticulture farming method, yields are quite good because the multilevel system allows cultivation in limited space, maximizing vertical land use. Hydroponic systems, yields are impressive due to the simple system and excellent control of nutrients provided to plants with higher organic vegetable productivity and grow faster than verticulture systems.

Abstract

The community service project is located in Cibeber II Village, Bogor Regency, with easy access to the sub-district capital of Leuwiliang. Cibeber II Village is predominantly characterized by extensive agricultural and plantation land; however, much of this land remains underutilized and lacks sustainable productivity. The community engagement method includes discussions and hands-on activities with local farmer groups, represented by housewives, focusing on the importance of organic vegetable cultivation techniques, the production of phytohormone-enriched liquid organic fertilizer, and simple methods for home vegetable gardening. The activities related to home vegetable gardening and the production of liquid organic fertilizer from household onion waste in Cibeber II Village received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. This program not only enhances household food security and nutritional quality but also helps reduce household expenses.
