Abstract

This study examines visual imagery in Nono Warnono's poetry anthology "Kidung Langit." Through a qualitative approach, this study analyzes how visual imagery is used in selected poems to convey profound spiritual and social meanings. "Kidung Langit" analysis focuses on poems such as "Berlayar di Samudra Makrifat," "Berjaraknya Harapan dan Nyata," "Akhir Zaman," "Maha Bendara," and "Kidung Langit." The research findings show that this anthology consists of several poems that express the author's feelings and views on life through strong imagery. Several poems in "Kidung Langit" cover the themes of divinity, the search for the meaning of life, and reflection on nature. For example, in the poem "Lelayaran Ing Samodra Makrifat," Warnono describes a spiritual journey using the imagery of the sea and waves as symbols of the search for identity and forgiveness. Visual imagery is very dominant in the poems in "Kidung Langit." The use of repetition and contrast is also clearly visible, where Warnono often repeats certain phrases to emphasize the feelings or ideas he wants to convey. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji citraan penglihatan dalam antologi puisi Nono Warnono "Kidung Langit." Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana citraan penglihatan digunakan dalam puisi-puisi terpilih untuk menyampaikan makna spiritual dan sosial yang mendalam. “Kidung Langit” analisis berfokus pada puisi-puisi seperti "Berlayar di Samudra Makrifat," "Berjaraknya Harapan dan Kenyataan," "Akhir Zaman," "Maha Bendara," dan "Kidung Langit." Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Antologi ini terdiri dari beberapa puisi yang mengekspresikan perasaan dan pandangan penulis terhadap kehidupan melalui citraan yang kuat. Beberapa puisi dalam "Kidung Langit" mencakup tema ketuhanan, pencarian makna hidup, dan refleksi terhadap alam. Misalnya, dalam puisi "Lelayaran Ing Samodra Makrifat," Warnono menggambarkan perjalanan spiritual menggunakan citraan laut dan ombak sebagai simbol pencarian jati diri dan pengampunan. Citraan penglihatan sangat dominan dalam puisi-puisi di "Kidung Langit." Penggunaan repetisi dan pengontrasan juga terlihat jelas, di mana Warnono sering kali mengulangi frasa tertentu untuk menekankan perasaan atau ide yang ingin disampaikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan penerapan model pembelajaran artikulasi untuk keterampilan literasi berbicara jikoshoukai (自己紹介). Adapun metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas V semester 1 MI Khoiru Ummah Surabaya tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Instrumen penelitain menggunakan tes secara lisan dan angket respon. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat kategori yakni: 1) penggunaan kosakata, 2) intonasi, 3) kelancaran, 4) sikap. Siklus I mendapatkan hasil tes lisan kurang atau lemah. Adapun siklus II mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan dari 4 kategori penilaian tes lisan, yakni : 1) penggunaan kosakata mendapatkan presentase tertinggi pada nilai A yakni 83,3%, 2) intonasi mendapatkan presentase tertinggi pada nilai A yakni 66,7%, 3) kelancaran mendapatkan presentase tertinggi pada nilai A yakni 90%, 4) sikap mendapatkan presentase tertinggi pada nilai A yakni 93,3%. Sehingga dari hasil tes lisan siklus II menunjukkan sangat kuat. Hasil angket respon peserta didik menyatakan mayoritas peserta didik termotivasi dan antusias dalam aktivitas pembelajaran model artikulasi. Hal ini membuktikan model pembelajaran artikulasi layak digunakan untuk keterampilan literasi berbicara pada materi perkenalan diri Jikoshoukai (自己紹介)  bahasa Jepang.

Abstract

Conventional implicature in persuasive speech acts serves as an effective linguistic mechanism for delivering moral messages and noble values in a refined manner, as exemplified in the Javanese religious song Syi'ir Tanpa Waton. This study aims to examine nine selected data units from a total of thirteen stanzas in the song’s lyrics, which serve as the primary data. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through documentation and textual analysis of the lyrics. The analysis draws on Grice’s theory of implicature and Searle’s speech act theory, focusing on the illocutionary dimension of the speech acts. The findings indicate that the persuasive speech acts identified in the lyrics consist of prohibitions, indirect criticisms, exhortations, and declarative expressions, all of which are imbued with deep spiritual meaning. These speech acts reflect conventional implicature through specific lexical and grammatical markers in Javanese, which encode implied messages independent of conversational context. The study demonstrates significant relevance to Javanese language learning at the senior high school level, particularly in the area of literary text instruction, where students are encouraged to interpret implicit meaning and internalize local wisdom. Implementation in classroom settings may enhance students' interpretative skills while simultaneously reinforcing cultural identity. In addition to enriching pragmatic-semantic analysis of contemporary Javanese texts, this research offers a pedagogical model that integrates culturally rooted literary works into meaningful and engaging language instruction for younger generations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara majas perbandingan dengan citraan dalam album Hajimete no EP karya Yoasobi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif-deskriptif non-interaktif dengan teknik simak-catat dan studi pustaka. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah alat perekam berupa aplikasi atau platform streaming music online dan alat tulis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teori stilistika yang digunakan adalah teori Nurgiyantoro (2022) tentang hubungan antara majas perbandingan dan citraan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 11 data dan 5 hubungan yang ditemukan. 3 data dari lagu Seventeen, 5 data dari lagu Umi no Manimani, dan 3 data dari lagu Mister. Hubungan yang ditemukan bertujuan untuk mengkonkretkan sesuatu yang abstrak; untuk menghidupkan penuturan agar mudah dipahami; untuk memperindah penuturan agar lebih mengesankan; penggunaan majas perbandingan dapat memperkuat citraan; dan penggunaan majas perbandingan dan citraan dapat menekankan dan mengintensifkan penuturan. Hubungan antara majas perbandingan dan citraan yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah antara majas perbandingan simile, personifikasi dengan citraan visual. Keduanya berfungsi untuk menegaskan perasaan, memudahkan pemahaman, dan efek estetika.

Abstract

Background: Hate speech targeting religious symbols in digital media has sparked complex legal and social debates. Public figures often disseminate ideological views that may violate religious norms and legal provisions. Aims: This study aims to identify the linguistic forms and pragmatic functions of directive and representative speech acts in Pandji Gumilang’s statements on the Zaytun Official YouTube channel, which were used as evidence in a finalised criminal case. Methods: A descriptive qualitative method was employed using a forensic pragmatic framework based on Searle's speech act theory. Data were drawn from the Indramayu District Court Verdict No. 365/Pid.Sus/2023/PN.Idm using purposive sampling. The analysis focused on speech forms, communicative functions, and violations of Leech's politeness maxims, specifically tact, agreement, modesty, and approbation. Results: The study found 12 speeches containing hate speech against religious symbols, consisting of four directive speeches and eight representative speeches. All data violates the principles of politeness, especially the maxims of wisdom, agreement, humility, and decency. Statements such as "Indonesia is a sacred land", "not the kalam of Allah", and "strange nasab descendants of the Prophet Saw. show the manipulation of language that functions as an ideological means and has a legal impact. Implications: Findings reveal that directive and representative speech acts serve as ideological tools undermining Islamic symbols and provoking legal action. This research highlights the utility of forensic pragmatics in examining how language functions as symbolic power and a medium for religion-based offences.

Abstract

Listening is the most basic skill in language learning. A voice that cannot be heard, cannot be pronounced properly. If you don't understand what the other person is saying, then you can't participate in communication. The purpose of this study was to find out the results of the application of the Shadowing learning model in listening to Japanese learning activities for class X students at SMAN 5 Malang, specifically focusing on Chouon (long vowel) with the theme "Self Introduction/Jikoshoukai". The number of participants was 22 students of class X specializing in language. The instrument used is Pre-Test Post-Test in the form of multiple choice questions and fill in gaps in sentences. The data analysis technique used a comparative hypothesis test or comparison test. The results of this study were, the average value of the pre-test (before treatment) was 36.2 and the average value of the post-test (after treatment) was 62.5. From these results, it can be concluded that the implication of the shadowing technique as one of interactive methode in learning language, can improves students' listening skills, especially the ability to distinguish long and short forms of Japanese words.

Abstract

Mandarin is increasingly significant in the global and bilateral context between Indonesia and China. However, students often face challenges in mastering basic vocabulary essential for forming simple sentences. This study aims to develop an interactive web-based learning media called "Secret Snake Ladder" to support Mandarin vocabulary learning for 11th-grade students. The media was designed using the 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and validated by experts in media, content, and language. Validation results indicate that the media is highly feasible for use, with an average score of 100%. Trials with students showed positive responses, achieving an effectiveness rate of 98%. This media not only enhances vocabulary acquisition but also motivates students through interactive gamification. With its accessibility and flexibility, Secret Snake Ladder serves as a modern and relevant solution for Mandarin language learning in the digital era.

Abstract

Grammar is is an integral part of language competencies that must be mastered by foreign language learner, as one of the requirements for mastering all of language competencies. Therefore various strategies are being attempted in order to help students gain the learning outcomes of the course. In learning activities, it was found that students who were identified as a group with lower initial abilities were able to achieve high learning outcomes at the end of the semester. The students' learning styles are assumed to have a contribution to the students learning outcomes, because students have learn with the same learning resources, and the methods used by teachers are not different. This became the starting point to explore the relationship between learning styles and student learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative research to describe the correlation between learning styles and student learning outcomes in the basic level of Nihongo subject. This study will also describe the quality of the relationship between the two variables. The population in this study is all undergraduate students of State University of Surabaya (UNESA) Japanese Language Education Program class of 2022, totaling 104 students. The sampling method used in this study is a non-sampling method because all members in one population will be the subject of this study. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1) The learning styles of UNESA Japanese Language Education Program students class of 2022 were analyzed based on VARK model learning style preferences, showing that students have a single learning style and a combined learning style. However, The most dominant learning style preference used by students is Kinesthetic learning style with more than half of the total number of respondents. In addition, gender-based learning style preferences show that female student groups have a greater number of combined learning styles than male student groups; 2) The correlation between students' learning styles, and Japanese learning outcomes after being analyzed through a non-parametric model showed that the coefficient value of both variables of this study is 0.663, which is classified as "very weak". The result shows that learning styles do not contribute significantly to student learning outcomes.
