Abstract

Kosmetik yang beredar di pasaran harus dijamin keamanan dan kehalalannya oleh instansi terkait, untuk memberikan rasa aman kepada setiap konsumen. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang pentingnya penggunaan kosmetik yang aman dan halal kepada Masyarakat desa Kemanisan, Kota Serang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berupa edukasi masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dengan mengukur tingkat pengetahuan menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan responden sebelum penyuluhan adalah baik (42%), Cukup (46%), dan Kurang (12%). Tingkat pengetahuan responden setelah konseling baik (56%), Cukup (38%) dan Kurang (6%). Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan responden sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan dilakukan terjadi peningkatan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui metode penyuluhan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan responden mengenai penggunaan kosmetik yang aman dan halal. Cosmetics circulating on the market must be guaranteed safety and halal by the relevant agencies, to provide a sense of security to every consumer. The aim of this service is to increase understanding of the importance of using safe and halal cosmetics among the people of Kemanisan village, Serang City. This community service activity takes the form of public education through counseling by measuring the level of knowledge using a questionnaire. The results of the service showed that the level of knowledge of respondents before counseling was good (42%), sufficient (46%), and poor (12%). The level of knowledge of respondents after counseling was good (56%), sufficient (38%) and poor (6%). Based on the results of this service, it can be concluded that the level of knowledge of respondents before and after the counseling was carried out increased. Community service activities through outreach methods are able to increase respondents' knowledge about the use of safe and halal cosmetics.

Abstract

Radikal bebas yang berasal dari udara, makanan dapat menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan tetapi dapat ditangkal dengan antioksidan. Antioksidan dapat diperoleh dari tanaman dan salah satunya ialah kunyit. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kekuatan aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak kunyit. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara ekstraksi serbuk kunyit yang telah diterminasi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol serta seduhan, kemudian masing-masing larutan difermentasi menjadi kombucha. Kombucha ekstrak kunyit dan seduhan kunyit dilakukan penapisan fitokimia, selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH serta vitamin C sebagai kontrol positif. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan mendapatkan kombucha ekstrak kunyit dan seduhan kunyit yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas antioksidan dari kombucha ekstrak kunyit dan kombucha kunyit memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 masing-masing yang dihasilkan sebesar 46,6 ppm dan 5,25 ppm termasuk dalam kategori antioksidan sangat kuat.

Abstract

A health sector that uses information and communication technology (ICT) can offer a new perspective on health service delivery and help overcome the problem of insufficient availability of health workers. The form of implementation can be telepharmacy services, but only a few people understand telepharmacy. This service aims to provide telepharmacy education to the people of Pandeglang Regency as a first step to strengthening the National Health System. Health education is delivered through visualization using the community relations method. As part of the Community Service program, this activity aims to provide telepharmacy education to the people of Pandeglang Regency, which is part of improving the National Health System.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the potential of local natural resources in the form of Torch Ginger flowers (Etlingera elatior) in Mandalawangi Village, Pandeglang Regency, which have not been optimally utilized despite their high antioxidant activity and potential to be processed into probiotic kombucha beverages that are beneficial for health and possess economic value. The purpose of this activity was to improve the knowledge and skills of members of the Karang Taruna Cahaya Mandala in producing Torch Ginger flower kombucha as an effort to enhance public health and welfare. The activity was carried out through interactive lectures, hands-on training, and counseling using leaflet media, involving 30 respondents selected based on their active participation in the community. Knowledge evaluation was conducted through pretest and posttest assessments using the Wilcoxon test to analyze significant differences in knowledge levels before and after the activity. The results showed an increase in the knowledge level categorized as “good” from 63% before the training to 90% after the training, with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating that the activity was effective in improving participants’ understanding of Torch Gingerflower kombucha production. In addition to increasing health awareness, this activity also contributed positively to community economic empowerment through the development of local value-added products. In conclusion, the training and counseling on Torch Ginger flower kombucha production proved effective in enhancing community knowledge and skills; however, further activities are recommended, including business mentoring and product certification, to ensure the sustainability and broader impact of the program.
