Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common menstrual disorders experienced by adolescent girls and often reduces their activity and quality of life. Menstrual pain can be treated with non-pharmacological therapies, one of which is consuming warm lemongrass tea, which contains essential oils that have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. This study aims to apply warm lemongrass tea therapy in reducing menstrual pain in adolescent girls using an application. The research design used a case study with a qualitative approach. There were two participants in this study, both adolescent girls at SMAN 05 Kota Bengkulu who experienced moderate menstrual pain (4–6). Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and physical examinations over three days. The intervention provided was warm lemongrass tea accompanied by self-care education based on Orem's concept, which includes universal self-care requirements, developmental self-care requirements, and health deviation. The results showed a decrease in pain intensity in both respondents after receiving warm lemongrass tea therapy. Respondents were also able to understand how to make and use lemongrass tea as an independent effort to reduce menstrual pain. This intervention proved to be effective as a non-pharmacological complementary therapy and was in line with the application of Orem's theory in increasing adolescent self-care independence.

Abstract

Dental caries is one of the most common health problems among elementary school children and is generally caused by improper toothbrushing habits, frequent consumption of sugary foods, and low levels of knowledge regarding oral and dental health. This caries prevention education activity was carried out for students at SDN 02 Sukasari with the aim of increasing children’s knowledge and awareness about caries prevention through interactive counseling, demonstrations of proper toothbrushing techniques, and education about foods that affect dental health. The implementation methods included delivering educational material, hands-on practice, and simple assistance provided by community service (KKN) students. The results of the activity showed an increase in students’ understanding and behavior regarding the importance of maintaining oral and dental hygiene. This intervention proved effective as a promotive and preventive effort to reduce the risk of dental caries in children and is recommended for continuous implementation in other school environments.

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are easy-to-apply household health resources that play an important role in promotive and preventive efforts, particularly for elderly individuals who are vulnerable to degenerative diseases. In Kampung Botol RT 05, the community owns home yards and several medicinal plants, but their use remains limited due to a lack of knowledge regarding plant types, health benefits, and processing methods. The TOGA BERSALIN program (Family Medicinal Plants Bersama Sehat Terjamin) is an educational innovation aimed at improving community understanding.

At the Kuala Lempuing Community Health Centre in 2023, the number of infants who received complete immunisation reached 75.2%. There were 248 toddlers at the Kuala Lempuing Community Health Centre.  The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and the level of compliance of mothers with basic infant immunisation in the Kuala Lempuing Community Health Centre working area, Bengkulu City, in 2024. The research method used was descriptive quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 38 people in the working area of the Kuala Lempuing Community Health Centre in Bengkulu City in 2024. The results of the univariate test analysis showed that almost all respondents (39.5%) had sufficient knowledge, while most respondents (57.9%) had a compliant level of adherence. The results of the bivariate analysis showed a relationship between knowledge (0.000) and the level of maternal adherence to basic infant immunisation in the Kuala Lempuing Community Health Centre Working Area in 2024. There is a relationship between knowledge and the level of compliance of mothers with basic infant immunisation in the working area of the Kuala Lempuing Community Health Centre, Bengkulu City, in 2024. Abstract

The prevalence of developmental disorders in Indonesia is still quite high at 27.5% (WHO, 2023), and about 13% of children aged 0–6 years experience developmental delays (Riskesdas, 2020). In Bengkulu City, especially in the Ratu Agung area, fine motor disorders are the most common cases, including at PAUD Aulia, where cases increased from 3 in 2023 to 5 in 2025.This study aims to provide nursing care and document the results of applying LEGO play therapy to improve fine motor skills in preschool children at PAUD Aulia, Bengkulu City, in 2025. The method used is a descriptive case study on one child (A.A) who had fine motor problems. The child showed difficulties in stacking blocks, drawing, holding a pencil, cutting, and buttoning clothes. The therapy was given for three days at PAUD Aulia. The results showed an improvement in fine motor skills; the child who previously could not complete three task indicators was able to perform them well after the therapy. This study concludes that LEGO play therapy is effective in improving fine motor skills in preschool children. The researcher recommends that this therapy be used more widely in early childhood education settings as a non-pharmacological intervention for health workers and educators.
