Abstract

The research aims to analyze the learning process of applying the Numbered Head Together (NHT) method to dance classification material to increase student learning activeness, which is the problem in this study. This problem leads to a lack of student activity in the learning process. In this study, the research method used was Classroom Action Research Classroom Action Research from Kurt Lewin with two cycles consisting of a series of steps consisting of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. Research activities took place from March to May 2023 at SMAN 30 Jakarta, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. Data is collected through data collection techniques in the Form of questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the application of the NHT method to dance classification material could increase student learning activity based on the pre-cycle results of 57%, the first cycle increased by 78%, and the second cycle became 91%. The conclusion of this study is to use the Numbered Head Together (NHT) method on dance classification material to increase student learning activeness and experience an increase in each indicator of student learning activeness.

Abstract

The process of innovation of Jaipongan dance movement that occurs among the younger generation is more popular than the ketuk tilu style. To keep Jaipongan relevant and popular with this generation, It is important for choreographers to continue innovating the dance. With technology changing so fast, choreographers face a new challenge in their creative process. The constant influx of outside cultures demands that choreographers to be active, creative, innovative to keep pace with the times. The purpose of this research is to find out how the process of creation, motion discovery, and innovation of jaipongan dance that carried out at the Gondo Art Production Dance Clinic using the Jacqueline Smith Construction Method. This research helps dance studios and art institutions understand how dance movements are created and improved. With this knowledge, they can develop new dance works in a more organized way, with stronger ideas and concepts. The research method used is Jacqueline Smith's Construction method. Jacqueline Smith's dance construction consists of 8 stages which are used as a reference for the process of creating dance works. The data collection techniques in this research are observation, interview, literature study and documents. Gondo Art Production Dance Clinic is a dance studio that actively innovates. The style of dance presentation including the main and supporting elements of dance has been innovated by Gondo. This includes everything from the initial ideas and concepts to the dance movements, structure, techniques, music, makeup, costumes, and set design. By revamping all these elements, dance performances become more engaging and different from traditional works, which can help attract younger audiences and keep cultural traditions alive.

Abstract

Abstract Hebei International Studies University, is one of UNJ's partners which is located in China, precisely on Hongqi road no. 1218, Yuanshi County, Shijiazhuang city, Hebei Province. Hebei International Studies University has several faculties in it, one of which is International Finance. Various study programs at the faculty require students to take Indonesian language courses. This course is held continuously from semester 1 to semester 7. Studying Indonesian makes them interested in the arts and culture of Indonesia, especially since there are several arts in Indonesia that have cultural acculturation with China, such as Betawi Basic Dance. Basic Betawi Dance training will be held at the International Finance Faculty located in Shijiazhuang city, Hebei Province. The object is 79 International Finance Department students. The method used in conducting this dance training is Demonstration and example, namely a training method carried out by direct demonstration and explanation of Basic Betawi Dance. Students will do work through demonstrated examples or experiments, where this method will be very effective because the participants see firsthand the dance techniques used by the instructor. Hebei International Studies University memiliki beberapa fakultas di dalamnya, salah satunya adalah International Finance. berbagai program studi yang ada di fakultas tersebut mewajibkan mahasiswa untuk mengambil mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia. Mata kuliah tersebut diselenggarakan secara berkelanjutan dari semester 1 hingga semester 7. Mempelajari Bahasa Indonesia membuat mereka tertarik dengan Seni dan Budaya yang dimiliki Indonesia, terlebih ada beberapa kesenian di Indonesia yang memiliki akulturasi budaya dengan China seperti Tari Dasar Betawi. Pelatihan Tari Dasar Betawi akan dilaksanakan di Fakultas International Finance yang terletak di Shijiazhuang city, Hebei Province. Objeknya adalah Mahasiswa International Finance Department sebanyak 79 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam melakukan pelatihan tari ini adalah Demonstration and exampel yaitu metode latihan yang dilakukan dengan cara peragaan dan penjelasan secara langsung tentang Tari Dasar Betawi. Mahasiswa akan mengerjakan sesuatu pekerjaan melalui contoh atau percobaan yang didemonstrasikan, dimana metode ini akan sangat efektif karena para peserta melihat langsung Teknik dalam menari yang dilakukan instruktur. Abstract

Social interaction is a crucial aspect of adolescent development, particularly in building communication, cooperation, and self-confidence. However, many adolescents face challenges in social interaction due to various factors, including social and economic disparities. This study aims to analyze the role of creative dance learning in enhancing adolescents' social interaction skills through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on Kurt Lewin’s model, which consists of two learning cycles. The research subjects were 12 students aged 13–15 years at Sekolah Alam Tunas Mulia. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research results show that creative dance learning through the PBL model significantly improves students' social interaction. The average social interaction score increased from 33.1 in the pre cycle to 57.9 in the first cycle and reached 80.1 in the second cycle. This improvement occurred because students were engaged in movement exploration, improvisation, and teamwork in groups. Thus, creative dance learning can be an effective strategy for developing adolescents' social interaction, especially for those experiencing social and economic barrierse.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the training process of Sigeh Pengunten Dance at Sanggar RIBL SSBL Kencana Lepus, East Lampung Regency. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation conducted over one month. The results show that the training process in this studio is carried out systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, educators determine the training objectives, materials, and methods. The implementation stage involves demonstration and direct practice methods, where students learn the dance movements under the guidance of instructors. In the evaluation stage, students' dance skills are assessed based on the elements of wiraga, wirama, and wirasa. In addition to enhancing dance skills, this training also plays a crucial role in preserving the cultural values of the East Lampung community. The findings indicate that the studio's existence is vital in maintaining the legacy of Sigeh Pengunten Dance and promoting Lampung's cultural heritage to the broader public, including tourists. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing traditional dance training methods in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a video tutorial of the Kembang Manis dance for grade VII students of the Dance Arts subject. The study was conducted because the student learning outcomes with an average score of 65 were in the less good category. The results of the preliminary study showed that the causal factor was that the learning media used so far did not support achieving learning objectives. The methodology used was the ADDIE procedure research and development (R&D). Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The research targets were 19 grade VII students of the Dance Arts subject at SMP Santo Yoseph, East Jakarta. Numerical data were analyzed quantitatively and average data qualitatively. The results of the research and development at the review stage obtained an average score of 3.67 which means very good. The learning media expert gave an average score of 3.65 which means very good and the learning expert gave an average score of 3.87 which means very good with each category being very feasible. In the results of the field trial through the pretest, an average score of 67.1 was obtained and the posttest obtained an average score of 86.8, a percentage of 59.8% including the fairly effective category. In conclusion, video tutorial media is quite effective in improving the dancing skills of the Kembang Manis dance in grade VII students at SMP Santo Yoseph, East Jakarta.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan melalui kemitraan wilayah binaan fakultas, dengan fokus pada pelatihan tari Minang “Tak Ting-tong” di SMA Presiden Jababeka, Bekasi. Tujuan utama kegiatan adalah meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap budaya Minang serta memperkuat karakter melalui pendekatan seni yang edukatif, kreatif, dan terampil. Pelatihan dilakukan secara intensif dengan menerapkan metode penciptaan tari Alma M. Hawkins, yang terdiri atas enam tahapan: mengalami, melihat, merasakan, mengkhayalkan, mengejawantahkan, dan pembentukan. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah gerak imitasi secara langsung, dipadukan dengan eksplorasi ritme kreatif antara musik marching band dan alat musik tradisional Minang, yaitu Talempong. Pendekatan ini dirancang untuk menciptakan keseimbangan antara aktivitas fisik dan mental siswa, sekaligus merespons tekanan akademik yang tinggi melalui penguatan psikomotorik dan ekspresi diri. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan tari berbasis budaya lokal mampu meningkatkan apresiasi seni, memperkuat identitas budaya, serta membentuk karakter siswa secara kontekstual dan menyenangkan   AbstractThis community service activity was carried out through a faculty-led regional partnership, focusing on the training of Minang traditional dance “Tak Ting-tong” at SMA Presiden Jababeka, Bekasi. The primary objective of the program was to enhance students’ understanding of Minangkabau culture and to strengthen character development through an educational, creative, and skill-based artistic approach. The training was delivered intensively using Alma M. Hawkins’ dance creation method, which comprises six stages: experiencing, seeing, sensing, imagining, transforming, and forming. The instructional method employed direct imitation of movement, combined with creative rhythm exploration that integrates marching band music and traditional Minang instruments, particularly the Talempong. This approach was designed to foster physical and mental balance among students, while addressing academic stress through psychomotor stimulation and expressive engagement. The results indicate that culturally grounded dance training can effectively improve artistic appreciation, reinforce cultural identity, and support character formation in a contextual and enjoyable manner.

Abstract

Improving teacher performance in designing, using, and evaluating learning media is a critical need, as teachers face Generation Z and Alpha students who must have digital literacy. This community service activity aims to improve the competency of dance teachers who are members of the DKI Jakarta Senior High School Arts and Culture MGMP as partners, so they can conduct multimedia research and development in their respective schools. The implementation method of the activity uses a mentoring pattern, namely training that does not stop at delivering material, but continues with the application of the material through direct guidance. The activity is carried out through material presentations, interactive discussions, and mentoring in creating multimedia for implementation and evaluation in their respective schools. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge regarding the process and practice of multimedia research and development for dance learning. Participants had positive opinions regarding the implementation of the community service. The findings of the activity were that highly committed participants were able to write a framework for the results of the implementation of multimedia research and development in their respective schools correctly. The implications of this activity increased dance teachers' awareness that the multimedia learning that has been created and used is important to evaluate and reflect on through the research process, even at a simple research level. Abstrak Peningkatan kinerja guru dalam merancang, menggunakan dan mengevalusi media pembelajaran menjadi kebutuhan kritis, karena guru menghadapi peserta didik generasi Z dan Alpha yang seharusnya memiliki literasi digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru tari anggota MGMP Seni Budaya SMA DKI Jakarta sebagai mitra, untuk dapat melakukan penelitian dan pengembangan multimedia di sekolah masing-masing. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pola pendampingan yaitu pelatihan yang tidak berhenti pada penyampaian materi, tetapi dilanjutkan dengan penerapan materi melalui bimbingan langsung. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui penyajian materi, diskusi interaktif, pendampingan membuat multimedia untuk diimplementasikan dan dievaluasi di sekolah masing-masing. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta mengenai proses dan praktik penelitian dan pengembangan multimedia untuk pembelajaran tari. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta pendampingan berpendapat positif terhadap pelaksanaan pengabdian. Temuan kegiatan adalah peserta yang berkomitmen tinggi, bersedia menyelesaikan seluruh rangkaian kegiatan pendampingan, dapat menuliskan outline hasil penerapan penelitian dan pengembangan multimedia di sekolah masing-masing dengan benar. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini menumbuhkan kesadaran guru tari bahwa multimedia pembelajaran yang telah dibuat dan digunakan, penting untuk dilakukan evaluasi dan refleksi melalui proses penelitian meskipun pada tingkat penelitian sederhana.
