Abstract

This study aims to describe the management system of the Reyog Ponorogo Association in Jabodetabek. The Reyog Ponorogo Association is an organization that still exists and preserves the Reyog Ponorogo in Jabodetabek. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subject of this research is the Reyog Ponorogo Association in Jabodetabek. The research is focused on the study of association management exposure. Data were obtained by direct observation techniques, in- depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The validity of the data is obtained through triangulation through the source stage, namely checking data from various sources. These sources are the results of observations, interviews, and documentation about the Reyog Ponorogo Association in Jabodetabek. This research obtained the following results; (1) The planning process in the form of making 3-month work programs and annual work programs, logos, and ADART of the Reyog Ponorogo Jabodetabek Association (2) Organizing/implementation systems that are carried out by creating organizational parts/structures with respective fields determined by the leadership, (3) The process of directing in terms of the implementation of activities that have been planned so that it goes well, (4) Control that functions to guarantee and ensure the achievement of targets set in the planning process.

Abstract

Dance which is seen as a text, regardless of its type and form, will certainly contain a value. Moral values ​​are one that is important to know. Moral values ​​will be a guideline for determining good and wrong in society. Exploring the moral values ​​in Kembang Lambang Sari Dance can be done in various ways. One way is to dissect its structure through discourse analysis. Discourse analysis is carried out from the smallest structural components, namely motives, phrases, sentences and clusters. The relationship between the components will result in an interpretation of the dance movement. Analysis of Kembang Lambang Sari dance structure is then combined with an analysis of the dance character from the concept put forward by La Meri, the concept air design which describes the impression of movement. The results of this dance suture analysis will ultimately be studied through the perspective of Hans Georg Gadamer's hermeneutics, namely Fusion of Horizon, to obtain the moral values ​​contained in the dance. This study aims to dissect the Kembang Lambang Sari Dance structure so that the moral values ​​contained in the Kembang Lambang Sari Dance can be interpreted clearly in accordance with the values ​​to be conveyed by the choreographer.

Abstract

This research raised the problem that exists in the students of class X MIPA 4 in State High School 2 Depok, which is the lack of cooperation in the way of learning. This problem occurs because the media and methods of learning in schools have not yet led to activities that require cooperation, learning that is monotonous makes students bored. This study aims to improve student cooperation in the way and process of learning using the method of learning snowball throwing in the material of supporting dance elements, which is beneficial to enhancing the ability of students to cooperate. This study uses the method of Class Action Research (PTK) by separating the action intervention design of Kurt Lewin, which consists of two cycles and each cycle has four stages, namely planning (Planning), action (Action), observation (Observing), and reflection. (Reflecting). The research took place from February to May 2023 at State High School 2 Depok, West Java. Data is collected through the learning process in the dance support element material over 4 meetings over 2 cycles. The data collection techniques used in this study are lifting, observation, and interviews. The results of the research showed that the application of the method of learning snowball throwing in the dance supporting element material can improve student cooperation based on the results at pre-cycle 40%, increasing at cycle I to 75%, and at cycle II to 94%. The results indicated that the method of learning snowball throwing could significantly enhance student collaboration. The conclusion of this study is that the method of learning snowball throwing can be beneficial and can be a way of learning for all students, especially to enhance cooperation. This is because the method of learning snowball throwing has experienced a significant improvement, as demonstrated by the learning results using dance supporting elements.

Abstract

This study examines the problem of mastering the movement quality of the Single Mask Dance because this dance has a fairly high level of complexity. The purpose of this study was to determine the form of presentation, movement techniques, and movement quality of the Single Mask Dance through Technique and Expression according to Margaret N H'Doubler's perspective. This research can be used as an opportunity for further study regarding the mastery of movement quality in other types of dance using Technique and Expression theory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis and data collection techniques through interviews, observations, literature studies, and document studies. The data obtained includes: 1) the form of presentation of the Single Mask Dance which can be seen through the analysis of the structure of the movement, 2) the movement technique which includes three aspects, namely the regulation of breath, energy, and rhythm, 3) the expression presented through the movement of the mask and body movements. The results of the analysis and interpretation of the data explain that the Single Mask Dance fulfills all sub-chapters in Technique and Expression. Thus, it can be concluded that Technique and Expression can be used as an effort to master the Single Mask Dance.

Abstract

This thesis examines the problem of building the character of Adaninggar in the Menak Wayang Golek show entitled Putri Kaelani. The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the Menak Wayang Golek show entitled Putri Kaelani using Maurice Merleau-Ponty's Perceptual Phenomenology theory. The benefits of this research are able to support the improvement of the quality of dancing for the students of Sanggar Surya Kirana. The research method used is qualitative research with ethnographic and autoethnographic approaches. The conclusion that can be, that the process of building the character of Adaninggar according to Maurice Merleau-Ponty's Perception Phenomenology is how the process of gaining experience as a whole in order to get a perception of the world of performing arts. The research data can be categorized into four data, namely the general description of the Surya Kirana studio, the form of presentation of the menak puppet show entitled Putri Kaelani, the characters in the menak puppet show entitled Putri Kaelani, the process of building the character of Adaninggar. The four data above will be analyzed using Maurice Merleau-Ponty's Perception Phenomenology theory, supported by Richard Boleslavsky's character building method, through the first six lessons for aspiring actors.

Abstract

Ronggeng Beken Dance is a cultural expression of the people of Bekasi, showcased in the Pesona Nusantara Bekasi Keren Festival. This article discusses the presentation model of the Ronggeng Beken Dance through the lens of performativity according to Richard Schechner, encompassing the elements of ritual, restored behavior, and performativity in the performance. Using a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, this study analyzes how the Ronggeng Beken Dance reflects local cultural identity while adapting to the dynamics of the multicultural society in Bekasi. Composed by Gema Nusa Patriot, the Ronggeng Beken Dance combines Betawi and Sundanese cultural elements in its movements and musical accompaniment, symbolizing the unique culture of Bekasi. The dance presentation also integrates modern props such as sunglasses, adding a "cool" or modern dimension to local tradition. The results of the study show that this performance serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium to strengthen the cultural identity of the Bekasi community in a large-scale festival. Schechner's performativity perspective helps to understand the dynamics of the Ronggeng Beken Dance presentation, which creates space for social and cultural transformation within the multicultural community.

Abstract

Abstract This community service aims to enhance the understanding of Hebei International Studies University (HISU) students regarding Indonesia’s intangible cultural heritage through Reyog Ponorogo dance training. The problem faced by the partner was the limited cultural understanding among HISU students studying Indonesian language, necessitating an innovative approach to introduce cultural elements into the language curriculum. The training was conducted both online and offline, involving 20 students, utilizing a teaching method that combined digital learning tools and direct instruction to ensure accessibility and engagement.The evaluation results demonstrated a significant increase in the students' cultural awareness, as evidenced by pre-test and post-test results, as well as their dance performance during campus orientation. Additionally, the students' active participation in the dance performance reflected a deeper understanding of Indonesian culture. Collaboration between Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) and HISU was formalized through an agreement, opening up opportunities for sustainable academic collaboration, including cultural exchange programs. This program not only introduced dance as a medium of cultural education but also laid the foundation for sustainable cross-country cultural exchanges through a successful hybrid learning model. The activity contributed to cultural diplomacy and strengthened cross-cultural relations between academic institutionsthe. Abstrak Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat pemahaman mahasiswa Hebei International Studies University (HISU) tentang warisan budaya tak benda Indonesia melalui pelatihan Tari Reyog Ponorogo. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah keterbatasan pemahaman budaya di kalangan mahasiswa HISU yang mempelajari bahasa Indonesia, sehingga diperlukan pendekatan inovatif untuk memperkenalkan elemen budaya dalam kurikulum bahasa. Pelatihan dilakukan secara daring dan luring, melibatkan 20 mahasiswa, dengan metode pengajaran yang mengombinasikan alat pembelajaran digital dan instruksi langsung untuk memastikan aksesibilitas dan keterlibatan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran budaya mahasiswa, dibuktikan melalui pre-test dan post-test serta penampilan tari selama orientasi kampus. Selain itu, partisipasi aktif mahasiswa dalam pertunjukan tari menunjukkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang budaya Indonesia. Kerjasama antara Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) dan HISU diformalisasi melalui perjanjian yang membuka peluang kolaborasi akademik berkelanjutan, termasuk dalam program pertukaran budaya. Program ini tidak hanya memperkenalkan tari sebagai sarana pendidikan budaya, tetapi juga membangun landasan untuk keberlanjutan pertukaran budaya antar negara melalui model pembelajaran hybrid yang sukses. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada diplomasi budaya dan memperkuat hubungan lintas budaya di antara institusi akademis. Abstract

This study aims to describe the training process of Sigeh Pengunten Dance at Sanggar RIBL SSBL Kencana Lepus, East Lampung Regency. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation conducted over one month. The results show that the training process in this studio is carried out systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, educators determine the training objectives, materials, and methods. The implementation stage involves demonstration and direct practice methods, where students learn the dance movements under the guidance of instructors. In the evaluation stage, students' dance skills are assessed based on the elements of wiraga, wirama, and wirasa. In addition to enhancing dance skills, this training also plays a crucial role in preserving the cultural values of the East Lampung community. The findings indicate that the studio's existence is vital in maintaining the legacy of Sigeh Pengunten Dance and promoting Lampung's cultural heritage to the broader public, including tourists. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing traditional dance training methods in Indonesia.

Abstract

Lenggang Cisadane Dance is a traditional dance of Tangerang City that reflects the cultural diversity of its people. This dance emerged as a fusion of various cultural elements, including Sundanese, Betawi, Malay, and Chinese influences, making it a symbol of multiculturalism in Tangerang City. This study aims to analyze how Lenggang Cisadane Dance represents multicultural values and how dance can serve as a medium to strengthen social harmony in a diverse society. This research employs an ethnographic method with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and document studies at Sanggar Puspa Kencana, the primary institution for teaching this dance. The data analysis process includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Lenggang Cisadane Dance embodies three main principles of multiculturalism: recognition of diversity, respect for individual rights, and dialogue and interaction. The elements of movement, music, and costumes in this dance demonstrate a harmonious blend of cultures. Thus, Lenggang Cisadane Dance is not only a form of performing art but also an educational tool and an effective medium for intercultural interaction in Tangerang City.

Abstract

Hobby K Bhabha identified that the theory of Poscononialism is a branch of critical theory that focuses on the colonial experience based on the point of view of a colonized society, systematically postcolonialism means something that has a concern in the national culture after the departure of imperial power which is a branch of study of cultural studies focused on socio-cultural analysis. Homi K bhabha identified that within the Posconoloneonial there appears cross-cultural in society in forms such as attitudes and cultures that enter and are called Hybridity. In this case, it will be reviewed from the Gupay Pangwanoh Dance Works to reveal which aspects are Hybridity. As a methodological tool, the author uses the PLH method where this method is an empowerment that we do consists of a process of socializing lectures on brainstorming demonstrations and imitation. From this journal, the author found the identification of Hybridity in the Pangwanoh Gupay Dance, especially in the aspect of movement in the dance.
