Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is part of a company's responsibility in ensuring the welfare of the surrounding community. Even so, CSR from the cigarette industry contains many dilemmas both from the social, health and legal aspects that cover it. This research aims to determine research trends regarding the CSR paradigm from the cigarette industry as well as the business law perspective that is the legal basis. The method used is bibliometric analysis using the R Studio and Biblioshiny applications. The main database used is scopus.com from the year 1992-2024. The results found 36 publications that studied the CSR theme of the cigarette industry. The main focus of the study is still within the scope of the dynamics of the tobacco industry and the human and health side of the industry. There are only 9 articles that discuss CSR in the cigarette industry and 7 articles that discuss the legal ethics of implementing CSR in the cigarette industry. Not only has a study been conducted on the business legal side of CSR in the cigarette industry. This is a huge opportunity for future researchers to conduct a more comprehensive study in order to get a complete view of the legal aspects in implementing CSR in the cigarette industry both in Indonesia and in the world.

Abstract

This study is part of a community service project aimed at examining the role of human and social capital in the sustainable forest management of Mount Arjuna East Java. The objective of the community service initiative is to empower local communities around the forest to actively participate in forest conservation efforts. The study employs a descriptive method with a survey technique to gather factual data from the research area, which includes the spring areas around Mount Arjuna in East Java, Indonesia. The study population consists of communities from three villages: Leduk, Jatiarjo, and Dayurejo, located in Pasuruan, East Java. Data were collected from respondents through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to understand the general responses regarding community participation in forest preservation. The results indicate that the human capital of the community, particularly education level and employment, contributes significantly to the success of sustainable forest development. Additionally, social characteristics such as mutual-cooperation and kinship within the community play a vital role in supporting long-term forest management. This community service initiative aims to strengthen both human and social capital to foster a sustainable forest management approach based on local wisdom and community-driven efforts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the comparison of branding image management in improving competitiveness between As-Shofa Islamic High School and Az-Zuhra Islamic School Pekanbaru. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques that include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, verification, conclusion drawing, and data triangulation techniques. The results of this study First, As-Shofa Islamic High School applies branding image management through the stages of Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling, with a focus on creating uniqueness, excellence, and strength. This school has two excellent programs, namely academic programs and student programs. These programs are more dominantly oriented towards higher education and general goals.Second, Az-Zuhra Islamic High School Pekanbaru also applies image branding management with the stages of Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling, with an emphasis on excellence, uniqueness, and strength. The flagship programs at this school include Tahsin and Tahfidz, Worship, and Character Building, which are dominantly oriented towards developing students' religious character. This research shows significant differences in image branding strategies between SMA Islam As-Shofa and SMA Az-Zuhra Islamic School Pekanbaru. As-Shofa Islamic High School focuses more on academic and general programs for higher education, while Az-Zuhra Islamic High School emphasizes more on religious character development. This finding provides insight into how differences in branding image strategies can affect the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

By giving teachers the necessary tools, teacher training plays a critical role in raising the standard of education. Training programs that are accessible and structured are becoming more and more important as educational demands change. The usefulness of teacher training frameworks, the incorporation of contemporary educational approaches, and the difficulties in obtaining and executing these programs are all examined in this study. This study examines global trends in teacher training literature (2019–2024) using Scopus and bibliometric analysis. Thematic focuses, important contributors, and publication trends were evaluated by data analysis using R/R-Studio, VoSviewer, and Microsoft Excel. Despite a rise in research activity, the results indicate a decreasing annual growth rate of publications. With a focus on particular locations, the study identifies important journals, authors, organizations, and nations influencing research on teacher preparation. Results show that training that is well-organized and updated often improves student performance and instructional efficacy. Adaptability to different classrooms is enhanced by the integration of inclusive education and technology. Nonetheless, there are still gaps in our knowledge of the long-term effects of training and in guaranteeing fair access to professional growth. When creating evidence-based teacher training programs, policymakers, educational institutions, and training providers use these insights as a guide. Comparative evaluations of training approaches, long-term efficacy, and international cooperation tactics in teacher education should all be investigated in future studies. For education systems around the world to advance, teacher training programs must be strengthened.

Abstract

The rapid technological advancements in the educational management enforce institutions to adopt new innovative approaches in knowledge management in ways that support innovation, decision-making, and institutional development. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool with significant potential to enhance knowledge management (KM) practices. However, in many developing contexts, including Libya, the integration of AI in higher education remains limited and underexplored. This study investigates the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on knowledge management (KM) within academic institutions, focusing on faculty awareness, utilization, perceived benefits, and encountered challenges.  The researchers, using a structured questionnaire distributed to 210 academic staff members from faculty of Economy, Management and Law, employed a quantitative research design.  This study reveals critical challenges to AI adoption in Libyan institution, including insufficient infrastructure, resistance to change, and a lack of technical expertise among faculty. Compared with previous studies conducted in technologically advanced contexts, this research contributes novel insights by examining AI in relation to KM integration in a developing academic environment as a gap in the literature. The findings reveal that a generally low level of AI awareness among participants, with limited understanding of core AI concepts and its future implications for higher education. However, moderate use of AI was reported in specific KM functions such as archiving and institutional support.  The study concludes that while AI integration in academic knowledge systems is in its early stages, there exists a clear recognition of its value. Limitations of the study include its focus on one institution, which is the University of Zawia, Libya, and its reliance on self-reported data. Future research should consider longitudinal studies, cross-institutional comparisons, and qualitative investigations to deepen understanding of AI's evolving role in academic institutions. Recommendations include targeted faculty training, infrastructural investments, strategic policy development, and the promotion of a culture acceptance of new to technologies.

Abstract

Climate change is increasingly recognized as a major driver of internal displacement, particularly in fragile states like Libya where environmental shocks intersect with political instability and weak governance. This study investigates how climate-induced internal displacement affects social cohesion in Libya’s coastal cities, focusing on Tripoli, Misrata, and Benghazi. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and field observations involving internally displaced persons (IDPs), host community members, and local stakeholders. Findings reveal that environmental factors such as drought and flooding have forced vulnerable populations to migrate from Libya’s interior regions to urban coastal centers. These displacements have strained public services, exacerbated competition for resources, and led to growing tensions between displaced populations and host communities. Social trust, mutual support, and access to services have all been undermined, while IDPs often face legal invisibility, psychological stress, and marginalization. Despite these challenges, the research identifies promising local initiatives that have fostered integration and rebuilt social ties, including joint livelihood programs and inclusive municipal governance efforts. However, these efforts remain fragmented and unsustainable without broader policy support. The study concludes that to prevent further erosion of social cohesion, Libya must adopt a national legal framework to recognize and protect climate-displaced persons, strengthen municipal capacities, and integrate displacement considerations into urban planning and climate adaptation strategies. This article contributes to emerging literature on climate migration and urban resilience by providing grounded, context-specific insights into how environmental displacement reshapes the social fabric in post-conflict settings.

Abstract

Microfinance provides access to financial services for low-income people, empowering and increasing business productivity in achieving prosperity. Rural communities are the group most interested in microfinance because it is often neglected by the formal financial system. This research focuses on the characteristics of rural communities in improving the implementation of microfinance through financing marketing strategies. A descriptive qualitative approach is used in this study. The data sources are based on observations, in-depth interviews, and contextual literacy of various documents. The research respondents were female entrepreneurs who received sharia-based microfinance facilities from BTPN Syariah and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani in the Cirebon area. The data analysis techniques were carried out through Data collection, Data reduction, Data presentation, Conclusion drawing/verification. The implementation of sharia microfinance through financial institutions and financing institutions in the Cirebon area has proven to have a positive effect. The marketing strategy of Islamic microfinance institutions in rural communities helps the growth of sustainable micro enterprises. This is evidenced by the ease of access to financing and more flexible terms in applying for financing, being able to increase sales results, and a community approach to financing through rural women entrepreneurs that helps reduce unemployment and poverty rates. The economic impact in the application of the concept of sharia economics encourages the principles of justice and social welfare, in addition to being able to provide access to capital. The implementation of sharia microfinance in rural communities in Cirebon has positive and transformative implications for the economy and social of the community by increasing access to financing, encouraging the growth of micro businesses, empowering women, reducing poverty and dependence on loan sharks, although it is still faced with the challenges of limited capital, low Islamic financial literacy, and the need for adequate regulatory support

Abstract

Quantum computing (QC) is an emerging technology that has the potential to revolutionize various industries, including accounting. This paper explores the impact of quantum computing on Accounting Information Systems (AIS), focusing on the challenges and opportunities it presents. With the exponential growth of data and increasing complexity in financial transactions, traditional AIS face limitations in processing power, speed, and data security. Quantum computing, with its ability to process vast amounts of data simultaneously and perform complex calculations, offers a solution to these challenges. By leveraging quantum algorithms, AIS could enhance data processing efficiency, improve financial modeling, and strengthen data security, particularly through quantum-safe encryption. However, the integration of QC into AIS also raises significant challenges, including the technical limitations of current quantum hardware, the potential disruption of existing cryptographic methods, and the lack of expertise in quantum technologies within the accounting profession. This paper examines these issues and discusses how accounting professionals and organizations can prepare for the future integration of QC into AIS. As quantum computing continues to evolve, its application to AIS holds promise for transforming the accounting industry by improving the accuracy, speed, and security of financial systems.

Abstract

Prevention of bullying in preschool requires an approach that is appropriate to early childhood development. This study aims to analyze teachers’ efforts in preventing bullying through character education in early childhood from an Islamic perspective. A holistic multiple-case design (single unit of analysis) was used as the research design. Data were collected through observations, interviews with one principal and one experienced teacher, and an in-depth analysis of 21 reputable international scientific articles from several countries (United Kingdom, United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Switzerland, Korea, Greece, and Sweden). Observations were conducted over twelve days on the teacher’s learning process, and in-depth interviews were carried out with the same teacher and the principal. All data were analyzed using the interactive qualitative data analysis model Miles & Huberman. The results show that teachers’ efforts in preventing bullying through character education in early childhood from an Islamic perspective are implemented through: (i) providing continuous understanding, good advice, and avoiding discrimination among peers; (ii) demonstrating positive attitudes; (iii) fostering empathy in children; and (iv) maintaining continuous communication between teachers and parents to jointly guide the children. These findings are consistent with behaviorist, constructivist, humanistic, and Islamic perspectives, all of which emphasize the importance of environmental support and direct experience in character building, which in turn has implications for preventing bullying in early childhood. The findings of this study can be used as one of the primary approaches for preventing bullying in early childhood.
