Abstract

The Lubuk Bakong’s River is located in Tua Tunu Village, Pangkalpinang and generally used as agricultural land and livestock. The purpose of this research is to analyze the community structure and the relationship of aquatic parameters to the diversity of fish in the Lubuk Bakong River. The benefit of this research is to complete data about the structure of the fish community in the Lubuk Bakong River. This research was conducted in March 2018 at the Lubuk Bakong River, Tua Tunu Village. Sample identification was carried out at the Fisheries Laboratory, FPBB. The method used is purposive sampling method and Principal Component Analysis. The fishes caught are Kemuring (Puntius lineatus), Tanah (Puntius binotatus), Palm (Osteochilus spilurus), Seluang (Rasbora cepholotaenia), Ordinary septic (Trichogaster trichopterus), Belida (Chitala sp), Betok (Anabas testudineus), Kelincah (Belontia hasselti), Kepatung (Pristolepis grootii), Baung (Mystus nemurus), Gabus (Channa striata), Kiung (Channa lucius), Sepat api (Trichogaster pectoralis) and Chitala sp. The results of the analysis related characteristics of environmental parameters on the diversity of fish species show the magnitude of the effect of the parameters Depth, Current velocity, and Nitrate at station I, station II shows the magnitude of the influence of temperature, pH, DO, Brightness, and Nitrate parameters and station III is more influenced by Phosphate factors

Abstract

Pakil River which is located in Paya Benua Village, West Mendo District, Bangka Regency. This river has an impact from mining activities which then affect the macrozoobenthos community. The purpose of this study was to determine the macrozoobenthic community structure in the Pakil River and determine the effect of water quality on macrozoobenthos in the Pakil River. The study was conducted in April 2018 in the waters of the Pakil River, Paya Benua Village, West Mendo District, Bangka Regency. The macrozoobentos sample was taken purposively at 6 observation stations. The results showed that 4 species of macrozoobenthos. With a diversity index of 0.9195 in the category of low diversity, uniformity index of 0.663 was classified as stable and the dominance index of 0.4425 was in the medium category. The effect of TSS parameters and depth greatly affect the life of the macrozoobenthos, while the ones that have sufficient influence are the parameters of current velocity and DO, then those that have no effect are the parameters of pH, temperature and sand fraction.

Abstract

Fitoplankton mempunyai peranan yang sangat penting sebagai produsen di laut dan menggunakan klorofil untuk memerangkap energy cahaya yang dibutuhkan dalam proses fotosintesis. Proses ini berguna untuk memanen energy cahaya yang bersama air dan karbondioksida untuk menghasilkan oksigen dan karbohidrat, dengan kata lain proses ini untuk mengubah energy matahari menjadi energy kimia. Peran klorofil sangat penting untuk proses tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis konsentrasi klorofil a fitoplankton dan mengetahui factor fisika-kimia perairan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di perairan Pulau Ketawai, Bangka tengah pada bulan Maret 2017. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa nilai konsentrasi klorofil pada masing-masing stasiun pengambilan sampel berbeda. Parameter lingkungan yang terukur masih dalam batas ideal untuk pertumbuhan fitoplankton. Phytoplankton has important role as a primary producer in oceans and use chlorophyll to trap light needed for photosynthesis (Matthews & Holde, 1996). This process which uses to harvested light energy together with water and carbon dioxide to produce oxygen and carbohydrates; as such, it converts solar energy into chemical energy. Chlorophyll is vital for photosynthesis as well, which help phytoplankton get energy from light. The aim of this study is to analyze chlorophyll a concentration and physicochemical water parameters. The research had been done on March 2017 in Ketawai Island, Bangka Tengah, Bangka Belitung. Result showed that value of chlorophyll a concentrations were different each site research which are Eastern coastal waters, Sothern coastal waters, Western coastal waters and Northern coastal waters were 4.128 mg/L, 0.19 mg/L, 0.15 mg/L, and 0.824 mg/L, respectively. The characteristic of water quality measured were found to be within the ideal range for phytoplankton.

Abstract

Dog conch (Strombus turturella) is an important fishery commodity in the Bangka Belitung Islands. The population is declining due to overexploitation and habitat destruction. This study aims to analyze the density of the distribution pattern and the relationship between the density of the Dog conch (Strombus turturella) with environmental factors in the waters of Klabat Bay. The study was conducted in April 2019 in the waters of Klabat Bay, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Sampling was carried out at five stations using a square measuring 1x1 meter, the average density of Dog conch at the study site was 9,460 ind/ha. The highest density is found in station 2 with a density of 15,600 Ind/ha, while the lowest density is at station 4 with a value of 3,300 Ind/ha. The distribution pattern of the Dog conch at each location there are differences, namely the grouping and uniform distribution patterns. Dog conch in the study site were related to sand substrate type, low organic matter and overgrown with seagrass with low cover and density. Seagrass species found were small, Halophila minor and Halodule uninervis.

Abstract

One of the main problems in aquaculture is cost of fish feed. Self made feed can reduce cost for buying commercial feed. Maggot is an organism that can be used as an ingredient in making independent feed. The purpose of this activity is to disseminate technology by utilizing maggot as the main raw material in making own fish feed to minimize production costs.This activity was carried out in fish farmers. They are located in Dusun Bukit Dempo, Kelurahan Bukit Ketok, Kecamatan Belinyu, Kabupaten Bangka. The method was carried out by disseminating technology in making fish feed based on maggot raw materials using simple applied technology. The use of fish feed from maggot raw materials was be able to catfish harvests and reduced the use of commercial fish feed, thereby minimizing production costs. The results of the economic calculation of the comparison of the use of commercial feed with feed from maggot flour in catfish cultivation resulted in a margin of Rp. 399,000 for a stocking density of 1,000 fish with a survival rate of 80% and a harvest size of 7 fish/kg. Feed from maggot flour can be consumed by cultivated Catfish and increase the weight and normal growth of Catfish.

Abstract

Water turbidity will impact how far the level of distribution of suspended and dissolved particles will affect the life of marine biota. This study aimed to determine the distribution of suspended and dissolved particles in the waters of Teluk Kelabat Luar. Water sampling was carried out in July 2019, representing the east monsoon. Determination of the water sampling location was by purposive sampling method, and then the data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the concentration of total suspended solids (TSS) on the surface (1 m) of Teluk Kelabat Luar has the highest concentration at point 4 (KL 4) with TSS concentrations in the range of 36,5 mg/L and point 14 (KL 14) in the range of 34,0 mg/L. Point 4 was the post-tin mining location. From this, it could be seen that the waters are still affected even after mining activities, namely the high concentration of TSS. The analysis of total dissolved solids (TDS) showed the highest concentration at point 12 (KL 12). The sedimentation rate in Teluk Kelabat Luar is in the medium-severe category, which is around 1,92 mL/hour. The results showed that mining had a tremendous effect on the level of suspended particles in the waters.

Abstract

Plankton adalah organisme mikroskopis yang memiliki peranan yang sangat penting yaitu sebagai dasar dari kehidupan, khususnya dalam kehidupan perairan pelagis. Plankton digolongkan menjadi dua jenis yaitu : fitoplankton dan zooplankton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis plankton, mengidentifikasi hubungan keanekaragaman jenis plankton dengan parameter fisika dengan analisis statistik, dan mengidentifikasi indeks keanekaragaman jenis plankton di Perairan Pantai Batu Belubang dan Pulau Panjang. Waktu dan tempat penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Bulan Maret 2021 di Perairan Pantai Batu Belubang dan Pulau Panjang Kecamatan Pangkalan Baru Kabupaten Bangka Tengah. Pengambilan data dalam Penelitian ini menggunakan metode random sampling dimana berdasarkan hasil survei yang telah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di perairan Pantai Batu Belubang dan Pulau Panjang ditemukan 30 spesies plankton yang terdiri dari 13 family dan total  berjumlah 286 spesies dengan indeks keanekaragaman tergolong sedang, indeks keseragaman tergolong tinggi dan untuk indeks dominansi tergolong rendah. Hasil korelasi menunjukkan bahwa memiliki hubungan korelasi yang berbeda-beda nilai dan arahnya.
