Abstract

ABSTRAKPada tanggal 21 November 2022, gempa bumi berkekuatan 5,6 magnitudo terjadi di Kab.Cianjur, Jawa Barat SDN Cibulakan merupakan salah satu sekolah dasar yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Cugenang, Kabupaten Cianjur yang terkena dampak gempa Cianjur cukup parah. Pasca gempa Cianjur, banyak siswa SDN Cibulakan yang murung, tidak percaya diri dan tidak mau belajar di tenda sekolah darurat. Merujuk pada situasi tersebut, pendampingan pengajaran yang direalisasikan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis kompetensi sosial-emosional yang dikenal sebagai program SICITA (Siswa Cibulakan Tangguh) merupakan salah satu solusinya. Program SICITA ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan kompetensi social-emosional siswa SDN Cibulakan pasca gempa bumi Cianjur. Program SICITA tersebut dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu: 1) persiapan program SICITA, 2) implementasi program SICITA, 3) evaluasi program SICITA. Melalui observasi selama program SICITA berlangsung (7 pertemuan) serta melalui wawancara terhadap sejumlah siswa, data dianalisis untuk mengeksplorasi capaian kompetensi social-emosional siswa melalui program SICITA tersebut. Setelah program SICITA diselenggarakan, hasil temuan menunjukan bahwa 80% dari seluruh jumlah siswa memiliki kondisi mental yang lebih baik dan penguasaan kompetensi social-emosional yang lebih optimal. Kini, banyak siswa yang memiliki semangat untuk belajar meskipun belajarnya di tenda darurat, banyak siswa yang tampil lebih percaya diri dan mandiri saat proses pembelajran di kelas, juga saat bermain dengan teman-temannya, banyak siswa yang kini punya mimpi dan mau berusaha untuk meraih cita-citanya meskipun mereka tidak punya rumah atau orangtuanya meninggal akibat gempa bumi Cianjur. Namun 10% dari seluruh siswa yang masih membutuhkan bimbingan lanjutan karena emosinya belum stabil. Kata kunci: program SICITA, kompetensi sosial-emosional siswa.ABSTRACTOn November 21, 2022, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Java. SDN Cibulakan is ane of elementary schools located in Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency which was badly affected by the Cianjur earthquake. After the Cianjur earthquake, many students of Cibulakan Elementary School were insecure, unconfident and did not want to study in the emergency school tents. Referring to this situation, teaching assistance realized through social-emotional competency-based learning activities known as the SICITA program (Cibulakan Tangguh Students) is one of the solutions. The SICITA program aims to optimize the social-emotional competencies of Cibulakan Elementary School students after the Cianjur earthquake. The program is carried out through three stages: 1) SICITA program preparation, 2) SICITA program implementation, and 3) SICITA program evaluation. The data were gained and analyzed to investigate the achievements of the SICITA program through observation during the SICITA program (7 meetings) and interviews posed to several students. Having conducted the SICITA program, the results indicate that 80% of the total number of students of Cibulakan own better mental conditions and master social-emotional competencies optimally. Now, many students are willing to learn even though they study in an emergency tent; many students are more confident and independent during the learning processes in the tent as well as when playing with their friends; many students build their dreams and are willing to study hard to achieve their goals even though they do not have a home, or their parents died as a result of the Cianjur earthquake. However, 10% of all students still need further guidance because of unstable emotions. Keywords: SICITA program, sosial-emosional competencies

Abstract

Gempa bumi Cianjur (21 November 2022) telah memberikan dampak luar biasa bagi kondisi emosi para siswa sekolah dasar. Tidak sedikit siswa yang merasa cemas dan tidak mau belajar di tenda sekolah darurat. Merujuk pada situasi tersebut, pendampingan pengajaran bagi siswa sekolah dasar yang direalisasikan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa berbasis literasi emosi merupakan salah satu solusinya. Kegiatan pendampingan pengajaran tersebut bertujuan untuk memulihkan dan mengoptimalkan kompetensi literasi emosi siswa dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi Cianjur. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan di SDN Cibulakan dan SDN Giriharja selama 1 bulan, diwujudkan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu: 1) persiapan pembelajaran bahasa berbasis literasi emosi, 2) implementasi pembelajaran bahasa berbasis literasi emosi, 3) evaluasi pembelajaran bahasa berbasis literasi emosi. Capaian literasi emosi siswa melalui kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa tersebut yang dianalisis berdasarkan hasil observasi serta wawancara terhadap sejumlah siswa menunjukan hasil yang cukup signifikan. Rata-rata 72% dari seluruh jumlah siswa memiliki kondisi mental yang lebih baik dan penguasaan literasi emosional yang lebih optimal setelah mereka berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa berbasis literasi emosi. Namun, sebanyak 28% dari seluruh siswa masih memerlukan latihan dan bimbingan lanjutan terkait literasi emosi.

Abstract

Social media has become part of people’s lives which enables people to communicate, interact, or look for the information. Instagram often used as a platform which upload the latest news, all the news can get on instagram easily. One of the news platforms on instagram is Folkative. This study aims to find out the types of theme-rheme and the most frequently used of theme-rheme in folkative instagram account by Gerot and Wignell (1994). A qualitative descriptive design was applied in this study. The results showed the analysis of 40 captions containing several types of themes, there are 37 topical themes, 1 textual theme, and 2 interpersonal themes found in folkative instagram account. In topical themes, the unmarked topical theme is found 25 themes, and the marked topical theme are 12 themes. The most frequently used of theme-rheme in folkative instagram account is topical theme. Hopefully, the results will inform people about the analysis of theme-rheme.

Abstract

Vocabulary is the most important for students to learn and possess. Even though vocabulary is the basis of all English language skills, there are still students who find it difficult to have a variety of English vocabulary. The aims of this research are to find out the results of the analysis of the implementation of the vocabulary teaching method using songs and the LingoClip application as media, as well as to find out the advantages and disadvantages of this method. This research uses descriptive qualitative by using questionnaires and interviews. The results of this research showed that: (1) 44% of students felt interested in the implementation of this method, 88% of students felt helped by the effectiveness of this method, 92% of students found their ability to learn vocabulary increased, and 96% of students preferred this method (2) students get more advantages than disadvantages, including; this method is simpler for students, adds vocabulary skills, students are motivated to learn English, and this method is a method that is not boring for students (3) the disadvantages of this method that are felt by some students are the need for an internet network that must be stable, also suggestions from students are the need for a device that supports running this application.Keywords: Vocabulary, Songs, Language, Skill, LingoClip Application, Teaching Method.

Abstract

Nugget merupakan makanan bergizi yang terbuat dari ayam dan digemari oleh semua kalangan. Bahan bakunya pun dapat dimodifikasi dengan ditambahkan sayur-sayuran seperti wortel. Hal ini menjadi salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan minat anak-anak yang tidak menyukai sayur-sayuran. Program kerja ini difokuskan untuk ibu-ibu karena mereka penyedia makanan keluarga yang harus mengetahui cara mengolah makanan yang sehat namun tetap praktis dan ekonomis. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dapat menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan yang dapat meningkatkan pendapatan serta keterampilan ibu-ibu di desa Cijedil melalui pelatihan pembuatan Healthy Nugget. Metode pelaksanaan dalam program ini adalah sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pengetahuan, kemampuan untuk mengolah dan memasarkan Healthy Nugget meningkat yang awalnya hanya 14% menjadi 90%. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari survei awal dan survei akhir yang dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Selain itu, keuntungan yang diperoleh setelah pendampingan meningkat yang awalnya 23% menjadi 532%.

Abstract

AbstractThe title of this paper is An Analysis of Students' Ability and Difficulties in Writing Descriptive Text. The researcher did the research at vocational high school. This research focused on the students' ability and difficulties in writing descriptive text. Even though descriptive text is not too difficult, but many students still found it difficult. The aims of the research are to know the ability of students in writing descriptive text, to know the difficulties of students in writing descriptive text, and to know how the teacher teaches descriptive text. This is a qualitative research. In collecting the data, the researcher used text analysis, observation and questionnaire. The components of writing that are analyzed are developing the ideas, organizing of ideas, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation. The results of this study illustrate that student faced difficulties in organizing and developing ideas. They were not able to develop ideas on the texts they wrote. Whereas, in term of grammar there was no significant difficulty, they can write descriptive text by using the correct grammar. In term of vocabulary, it was difficult for students to choose appropriate vocabulary even some of them still used Bahasa Indonesia. In term of punctuation marks, there is no significant error.  Based on the results of this study, it is suggested for teachers to pay attention to the teaching structure of descriptive text in the development of ideas, arrangement of ideas, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation. Teachers are also expected to provide examples and practice about the descriptive text to the students so they can achieve the purpose of education, especially in English subject.

Abstract

In the globalization era, students should have the ability to communicate in English. However, the results of the need analysis conducted at SMK Plus Insan Andalan Cianjur showed that students needed to improve their English skills, especially writing skills. One of the solutions is writing coaching of English texts through the scientific approach integrated with mind mapping technique. The purpose of the writing coaching is to improve students' literacy competency, particularly students' English writing skills. The writing coaching was carried out face-to-face involving 40 students in grade 10. The writing coaching was carried out in three stages, i.e., preparation of writing coaching, implementation of writing coaching, and evaluation of writing coaching. Referring to the results of observations, interviews, and questionnaires, the findings show that the implementation of a scientific approach integrated with mind mapping techniques facilitate students to get ideas and compose English sentences more easily so that students are more enthusiastic in writing English texts. Thus, the students’ literacy competencies can be improved more optimally.

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding and describing the analysis of language variation used in interaction among teacher and students in teaching and learning process of reading in 8th class at SMP Negeri 1 Sukaresmi-Cianjur. The research was conducted three meetings in three different classes. It was a descriptive qualitative research with a naturalistic approach. The setting of the research was SMP Negeri 1 Sukaresmi-Cianjur. The methods of collecting the data were questionnaire, observation and interview. The data were in the form of words and sentences of language variations and language styles. They included classroom observations, questionnaire and interview transcripts. The respondents were the English teacher and 8th students class at SMP Negeri 1 Sukaresmi-Cianjur. In reference to data analysis, the results show that the language variation used in interaction among the teacher and the students are divided into two kinds of language variations, i.e., (1) Register (2) Idiom. Moreover, the language style used in interaction among teacher and students were divided into four kinds of language styles, i.e., (1) Formal style, (2) Consultative style, (3) Casual style, (4) Intimate style. Implementing the language variations and language styles in teaching-learning processes of reading makes students easier to learn English particularly reading comprehension.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDesa Karangnunggal merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Cibeber, Kabupaten Cianjur, yang memiliki potensi ekonomi cukup baik. Sistem administrasi kependudukan yang tidak optimal mengakibatkan beberapa masalah serius. Selain itu, anak-anak yang tidak memiliki akta kelahiran mungkin menghadapi kesulitan saat mendaftar ke sekolah. Memberdayakan masyarakat dan mendukung pemahaman yang lebih luas melalui Education Packaging dalam rangka mendukung kualitas dan keberlanjutan UMKM.. Metode yang digunakan untuk pemecahan masalah ini diantaranya mengidentifikasi kebutuhan spesifik untuk pengembangan UMKM, metode yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dalam peningkatan literasi dan numerasi. Hasil dari Pengabdian ini untuk pelayanan masyarakat tercatat sekitar 50 UMKM yang mendapatkan pendampingan dalam proses pengurusan izin usaha. Dari jumlah tersebut, sekitar 30 UMKM berhasil memperoleh izin usaha resmi. Pendampingan yang diberikan meliputi penyiapan dokumen yang diperlukan, pengisian formulir, serta pengurusan prosedur yang harus ditempuh. Dalam bidang administrasi kependudukan, 200 warga yang mendapatkan bantuan pengurusan dokumen kependudukan. Dari jumlah tersebut, sekitar 150 warga berhasil mendapatkan KTP dan 50 warga memperoleh akta kelahiran baru. Dalam bidang Pendidikan, siswa sangat antusias dalam proses pembelajaran dan para guru Bahasa Inggris di SD Negeri Pasir Maris akan terus mencari upaya untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan mengikuti perkembangan zaman yang semakin canggih.Kata Kunci: Pelayanan Masyarakat; Pendidikan; UMKM; Pengembangan UMKMABSTRACTKarangnunggal Village is one of the villages in Cibeber District, Cianjur Regency, which has quite good economic potential. An unoptimal population administration system has resulted in several serious problems. In addition, children who do not have a birth certificate may face difficulties when applying to school. Empowering the community and supporting a broader understanding through Education Packaging in order to support the quality and sustainability of UMKM. The methods used for solving this problem include identifying specific needs for the development of UMKM, methods that can meet the needs of students in improving literacy and numeracy. The results of this service for community services recorded around 50 UMKM who received assistance in the process of obtaining business licenses. Of these, around 30 UMKM managed to obtain official business licenses. The assistance provided includes the preparation of the necessary documents, filling out forms, and managing the procedures that must be taken. In the field of population administration, 200 residents received assistance in managing population documents. Abstract

Language and gender are inextricably linked and have been the focus of extensive study in sociolinguistics studies. The language features between men and women use are different as women's speech appears to be weaker than men's in many ways. Famous Netflix series entitled Anne with an E provides a unique context for examining women's language features as it is set in the late 19th century and features a young female protagonist who navigates a patriarchal society. The researcher aims to examine the types and factors of women’s language features performed by the female main character in Anne with an E based on Lakoff’s theory. This research uses qualitative method. The primary data source is the utterances extracted from a transcribed first episode of season 1 of the series. The first finding showed that Anne Shirley used 226 women’s language features and all 10 types was found. The most used type was intensifier with 63 (27.87%) data acquired. She used it to emphasize her feelings, thoughts, and experiences, reflecting her expressive and emotive nature. Meanwhile Marilla Cuthbert used 99 women’s language features and 8 from 10 types was found. The most used type was lexical hedge or filler with 34 (34.34%) data acquired. As a responsible adult and caretaker character, she used it to soften assertions or to give herself time to formulate her thoughts. The second finding reveal that both Anne Shirley’s and Marilla Cuthbert’s use of women’s language features were influenced by physiological factors, psychological factors, and social (cultural and historical) factors. The analysis demonstrated that both of their language features in this series are deeply influenced by their backgrounds and characters. The use of women's language features in the series Anne with an E implies that gender differences in language are not only influenced by biological factors but also by psychological, social, and historical factors that shape how individuals communicate in a patriarchal society.
