Abstract

Salah satu indikator ketahanan pangan rumahtangga adalah pangsa pengeluaran pangan rumah tangga (Pakpahan, Sliem, Suhartini, Syafa’at, 1993 Suhardjo, 1996).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of poverty and unemployment on economic growth in areas affected by the 2004 earthquake and tsunami, specifically in Aceh Province. The data used are secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Regional Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda) of Aceh Province over a period of 19 years from 2005 to 2023. The method used is a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression analysis model. Based on the research results, it was found that poverty, measured by the percentage of the poor population, has a significant influence with a value of 0.074 at α = 10%. Meanwhile, unemployment measured by the open unemployment rate is not significant with a value of 0.234 at both α = 5% and α = 10%. The model equation is PE = 1.909 + 0.324PPM - 0.569TPT + ε. Next, the correlation coefficient value is 0.438 and the coefficient of determination is 9,0%.Meanwhile, the t-value is 0,090 for the coefficient of the percentage of poor population and -1.237 for the coefficient of the open unemployment rate, as well as the F-value of 1.895. Post-tsunami, starting in 2005, the percentage of poor residents continued to rise and began to decline after 6 years of the disaster, while the open unemployment rate also continued to increase in percentage and decreased 8 years after the tsunami. It is recommended to the local and provincial governments to launch poverty alleviation and unemployment reduction programs by creating job opportunities so that economic growth continues to increase in the future.

Abstract

In the analysis of the financial conditions of Aceh Barat Regency, it is revealed that a significant dependency on Central Transfers, particularly through the General Allocation Fund (DAU) and Special Allocation Fund (DAK), creates challenges in achieving stable financial independence. Although Regional Original Income (PAD), such as local taxes and regional levies, contributes, the fluctuations indicate complexity and risks in achieving financial balance. Diversification of income sources becomes a primary focus to address dependence on natural resources and the fisheries sector, as well as external fluctuations. Optimization of local taxes, levies, and tourism sector development emerges as key strategies to strengthen Regional Original Income. Additionally, the analysis of the Regional Financial Efficiency Ratio (REKD) indicates characteristics of inefficiency during the period 2011-2022, indicating the need for improvements in budget management and revenue collection. The Harmony Ratio, depicting an increase in Operational Expenditure and a tendency of decreasing Capital Expenditure, highlights the need to achieve a better balance between long-term investments and operational aspects. Therefore, Aceh Barat Regency needs to take proactive steps to enhance financial efficiency, diversify income, and allocate funds wisely to achieve sustainable and financially stable economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to examine determinants such as economic growth and district/city minimum wages on labor absorption in the MSME sector in West Aceh Regency. The selection of MSMEs is based on their important contribution to regional and national economic development, especially through job creation and income equality. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis methods using secondary data from 2000-2024. Empirical results show that economic growth and minimum wages statistically have a positive and significant effect on labor absorption, both partially and simultaneously. The regression model meets all the criteria of classical assumptions and produces an adjusted R² value of 0.749, indicating that around 74.9% of the variability in labor absorption can be attributed to the two independent variables. These results underscore the need for a regional-based economic strategy that emphasizes sustainable growth and well-calibrated wage policies to encourage a healthy entrepreneurial environment and long-term labor market development in the MSME sector.
