Abstract

Character education plays a vital role in shaping students' social development, particularly at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine character education in the context of students’ social development at SDN 1 Suranenggala Kulon. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research identifies that character education not only enhances students’ interpersonal skills but also contributes to the formation of values such as responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation. Furthermore, integrating character education into the learning process has been shown to foster a harmonious environment that supports students' holistic social development. The findings of this study highlight that character education serves as an essential foundation in cultivating individuals who are academically and socially competent.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of teachers’ personalities on the character development of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Tonjong. Personality, derived from the term ‘persona’ in Latin, plays a crucial role in social interactions and learning within the school environment. Through a qualitative approach, this research involves interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and thematic analysis to identify the patterns of interaction that occur. The findings indicate that self-confidence, social support, social interaction, value teaching, and emotional management are key factors in the formation of students’ character. Teachers who can create a supportive and empathetic classroom atmosphere can enhance students’ self-confidence, strengthen social relationships, and teach positive values. These findings emphasize the importance of teachers’ roles in building students’ character and creating a productive learning environment. This research is expected to provide insights for educators and policymakers in efforts to improve the quality of education and the character development of students.

Abstract

As an essential part of the teaching process, teachers have a dual role: they not only teach students but also help them reach their potential, provide choices, and guide them in learning. This study aims to provide an in-depth overview of the role of teachers in the moral development of elementary school students at SDN 1 Tonjong. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach that utilizes interviews and observations. This study provides an in-depth overview of the role of teachers in the moral development of fifth-grade elementary school students at SDN 1 Tonjong. This study found that moral education not only improves students' ability to interact with others but also helps them develop values such as responsibility, tolerance, and collaboration. Moral development is crucial for character formation in students, especially in elementary school. The results of this study indicate that teachers play a crucial role in building students' morality through lessons related to good moral examples and classroom rules.

Abstract

The development of fine motor skills is an important aspect of early childhood education, particularly in relation to writing abilities. This research aims to analyze the influence of fine motor skill development on the writing abilities of first-grade students at SDN 1 TUKMUDAL. The focus of the study includes three main aspects: first, identifying the level of fine motor skill development among students; second, assessing students' writing abilities; and third, determining the correlation between fine motor skill development and writing abilities. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection through observation, writing tests, and interviews with first-grade teachers. The results indicate that students with better fine motor skills have more advanced writing abilities in terms of letter formation, neatness, and writing speed. These findings are expected to provide insights for teachers in developing appropriate teaching strategies to enhance the fine motor skill development and writing abilities of early-grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and optimize student-centered learning methods at SDN 1 Trusmi Kulon to improve engagement and learning achievement. It focuses on the problem of misalignment between teaching methods and the unique needs of students, impacting motivation and academic outcomes. A qualitative method with a case study approach is used to deeply analyze adaptive teaching strategies. Data is collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents. The results show that active learning methods and student-centered approaches, implemented with sensitivity to context and individual needs, contribute significantly to improved student engagement, understanding, and achievement. Teacher training is also identified as an important factor in supporting successful implementation. In conclusion, a deep understanding of student needs and classroom context, along with the implementation of adaptive and responsive teaching methods, can create an inclusive learning environment. Recommendations are given to continue developing teaching strategies that are personal and relevant to student needs
