Abstract

Abstract

In 2022, the evaluation of the Family Intervention Program in Indonesia’s public health sector showed a realization rate of 45.14% of the 50% target. This highlights the need to strengthen human resources to improve program performance. This meta-analysis examined the effects of leadership, competence, and work environment on the performance of health service employees in Indonesia. A total of 1,798 studies were identified, and 13 met inclusion criteria using the PRISMA method and were appraised with the JBI instrument. Data were analyzed using JASP 0.17.2.1 to estimate effect sizes via forest and funnel plots. Results indicated that leadership (p < 0.001; ES = 0.195), competence (p < 0.001; ES = 0.223), and work environment (p = 0.008; ES = 0.228) each significantly affected employee performance. The work environment had the largest overall influence. Strengthening these factors is essential to enhance the performance of Indonesia’s health workforce.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI)-based telemedicine increasingly supports remote diagnosis, clinical decision support, and technology-mediated health communication. However, patient trust remains theoretically fragmented because prior studies often treat it as a general adoption variable rather than as a social psychological process. This review aimed to synthesize how patient trust in AI-based telemedicine is formed through social cognition, human-AI interaction, and institutional legitimacy. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA 2020. Scopus was the primary database, while PubMed and Google Scholar were used as complementary sources. Searches covered peer-reviewed literature published from 2015 to 2025 using Boolean combinations of trust, social acceptance, social psychology, human-AI interaction, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, telehealth, and virtual care. Two reviewers independently screened records, extracted data using a predefined matrix, and appraised empirical studies using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool, while conceptual papers were assessed for relevance, theoretical clarity, and contribution. Heterogeneity was handled through narrative thematic synthesis. Results: Eleven studies/reports were included. Three trust dimensions emerged: individual cognitive appraisal, including explainability, perceived risk, and prior experience; interactional attribution, including AI agency, role clarity, and communication quality; and socio-structural legitimation, including privacy, fairness, bias mitigation, and institutional governance. Human-AI interaction functioned as the experiential channel through which trust was calibrated, while social acceptance operated as a collective condition shaped by norms, professional identity, and legitimacy. Conclusion: Patient trust in AI-based telemedicine is a multilevel social psychological process. Sustainable implementation requires transparent design, privacy assurance, bias governance, and clear alignment between AI systems and clinical roles.

Abstract

Drug logistics management is a crucial component of the healthcare system as it plays a role in ensuring the availability, quality, and accuracy of medications in healthcare facilities. Various issues such as drug shortages, procurement delays, and damaged or expired medications are still frequently encountered, necessitating a comprehensive study of the implementation of drug logistics management. This literature review aims to evaluate the implementation of drug logistics management based on previous research findings, covering planning, procurement, storage, distribution, and drug control. This study used a literature review method by searching articles through the PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases for the period 2021–2025. An initial collection of 30,042 articles was obtained. Articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 10 relevant articles for analysis. The articles were reviewed using thematic analysis, grouping the findings into key themes of drug logistics management. The study indicates that most healthcare facilities have implemented drug logistics management stages, including planning, procurement, storage, distribution, and recording and reporting. However, various obstacles remain, including planning that is not fully based on actual data, procurement delays, limited storage facilities and infrastructure, and weak monitoring and evaluation systems. Human resources and training also impact the performance of drug logistics management. The implementation of drug logistics management has been ongoing, but is not yet optimal. Human resource capacity building, infrastructure improvements, the use of integrated information systems, and ongoing evaluation are needed to make drug logistics management more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers influenced by various family factors. Maternal knowledge, parenting styles, and family income are thought to play a significant role in stunting. This study aims to synthesize scientific evidence regarding the relationship between these three factors and stunting in toddlers. This literature review analyzed case control articles published between 2022–2026 from PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar based on inclusion criteria. The keywords used in the literature search for English-language journals included "health workers," "performance," "rewards," "leadership," "work skills," and "work environment." These keywords were combined using the Boolean operators AND and OR to obtain articles relevant to the research topic. The search was performed using the format "health workers" AND "performance" AND ("rewards" OR "leadership" OR "work skills" OR "work environment"). Meanwhile, similar keywords were used in national journals, namely "health workers," "performance," "rewards/awards," "leadership," "work skills," and "work environment," which were also combined using the Boolean operators AND and OR to broaden and focus the search results according to the research objectives. From 33,754 then narrowed down using keywords, 14 research articles were obtained. Fourteen articles were systematically reviewed. Most studies reported that low maternal knowledge increased stunting risk through inappropriate feeding practices, poor hygiene, and limited use of health services. Inadequate parenting practices significantly elevated stunting risk, particularly related to feeding, childcare, and growth monitoring. Low family income was also identified as a strong determinant because it affects the ability to provide nutritious food, proper sanitation, and access to healthcare. Some studies found no significant association due to other dominant variables such as maternal education and birth weight. These findings emphasize the importance of nutrition education for families alongside community health support delivered consistently through integrated programs at primary healthcare level and household environments sustainably and collaboratively across sectors locally. Knowledge, parenting, and income are interconnected factors influencing stunting, requiring comprehensive interventions.

Abstract

Nursing care in hospitals is still below the established standard of 80%, thus reflecting suboptimal nurse performance. This condition is thought to be influenced by factors such as rewards, workload, length of service and supervision. This study aims to analyze the relationship between rewards, workload, length of service, and supervision with nurse performance in the Inpatient Unit of Ratu Zalecha Martapura Regional Hospital. This study used a quantitative method with an observational analytical design using a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 152 nurses selected using cluster proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed a significant relationship between rewards and nurse performance (p-value=<0.001), workload and nurse performance (p<0.001), and supervision and nurse performance (p-value=<0.001). Length of service did not show a significant relationship with nurse performance (p-value=0,968). Multivariate analysis showed that supervision was the most dominant factor related to nurse performance. Thus, compensation, workload, and supervision are related to nurse performance, while length of service is not related to nurse performance in the Inpatient Unit of Ratu Zalecha Regional Hospital, Martapura. The hospital is expected to improve supervision, workload management, and training and recognition for nurses to improve the quality of nursing services.
