Abstract

This study examines the contextualization of existentialist philosophy—rooted in the thoughts of Jean-Paul Sartre and Søren Kierkegaard—within the framework of education in the digital era. The study employs a qualitative literature review approach, analyzing reputable journals and philosophical texts to explore existentialist concepts and their integration into contemporary education. The research reveals that existentialist principles, such as freedom, responsibility, and the search for meaning, align with the characteristics of digitalization in education, particularly in fostering autonomy and self-awareness among learners. It also highlights the role of educators in mediating the application of existentialism to ensure a balance between the positive and negative impacts of digital freedom. The findings emphasize that digital tools can enhance educational practices by encouraging critical thinking, individuality, and ethical responsibility, resonating with existentialist ideals. However, challenges remain in addressing potential individualism and misuse of digital platforms. The study concludes that the adaptation of existentialist philosophy offers valuable insights for navigating the transformative landscape of digital education while promoting holistic personal development.

Abstract

This study compares Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching methods in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, focusing on the aspects of innovation and tradition. The aim is to analyze how innovative and traditional methods affect students' understanding, as well as the challenges faced by teachers in their implementation. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research compiles data from literature related to PAI education in both countries. The findings reveal significant differences between PAI teaching methods in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, particularly in the aspects of innovation and tradition. In Indonesia, the use of innovative methods such as technology-based and project-based learning shows increased student engagement, although learning outcomes remain inconsistent due to challenges like teacher readiness and infrastructure limitations. Conversely, traditional methods in Brunei Darussalam provide stability in religious understanding but fall short in fostering students' critical thinking and creativity skills. The study also found that educational policies and local cultures in both countries significantly influence the effectiveness of the applied teaching methods. These findings indicate that innovation in PAI teaching is necessary to address modern educational challenges but must still consider the stability offered by traditional methods.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas filsafat pendidikan Islam melalui tiga aspek utama: ontologi, epistemologi, dan aksiologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami landasan filosofis pendidikan Islam serta implikasinya terhadap tujuan dan nilai pendidikan. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui studi kepustakaan, penelitian ini menggali literatur terkait filsafat pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ontologi dalam pendidikan Islam berfokus pada hakikat manusia dan potensinya, yang meliputi aspek fitrah serta perkembangan keislaman yang bertujuan membentuk insan kamil. Epistemologi pendidikan Islam berakar pada wahyu sebagai sumber pengetahuan yang utama, dengan Alquran dan Hadis sebagai pedoman utama dalam pengembangan teori dan praktik pendidikan. Aspek aksiologi menekankan pada nilai-nilai etika dan moral dalam penerapan pendidikan Islam, dengan tujuan menghasilkan individu yang memiliki nilai spiritual dan sosial yang tinggi. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memperkaya pemahaman tentang dasar dan nilai pendidikan Islam, serta pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai ilahiyah dalam proses pendidikan.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and personality of the younger generation, particularly through madrasahs and pesantrens. However, in the context of globalization and rapid technological advancement, these institutions face increasingly complex challenges. This study aims to identify the challenges encountered by madrasahs and pesantrens in innovating their educational practices and to analyze the resources that can support this innovation process. Utilizing a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with educational administrators, teachers, and students, as well as document analysis related to educational policies. The findings indicate that effective innovation requires synergy among various stakeholders, including the government, society, and educational institutions themselves. Additionally, enhancing teacher capacity and incorporating information technology into the learning process are key to improving the quality of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the strategies used by Guidance and Counseling teachers in addressing time limitations in classroom entry at SMA Dharma Utama. Time limitations have become one of the significant challenges in implementing services, particularly in providing equitable attention to all students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of the research are teachers and several students, as well as relevant subject teachers. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Guidance and Counseling teachers apply various strategies such as utilizing digital technology (social media, class WhatsApp groups), flexible service implementation outside of class hours, and collaboration with homeroom teachers and subject teachers. In addition, guidance and counseling teachers also optimize group guidance and schedule classical counseling services. These strategies have proven to be quite effective in reaching students more broadly despite time constraints. This research recommends the need for stronger institutional support and the integration of guidance and counseling programs with other school activities to improve the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in the future.

Abstract

Makalah ini membahas transformasi model pendidikan Islam dari pendekatan konvensional ke kontekstual dalam konteks pendidikan di Indonesia. Dengan latar belakang tantangan globalisasi dan perkembangan teknologi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik kedua model pendidikan, faktor-faktor pendorong transformasi, serta strategi implementasi model pendidikan kontekstual yang efektif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pendidikan konvensional cenderung berfokus pada hafalan dan kurang responsif terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat, sedangkan model kontekstual menawarkan pendekatan yang lebih integratif dan relevan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya revitalisasi kurikulum dan pengembangan kapasitas pendidik untuk menghadapi tantangan pendidikan kontemporer.

Abstract

Kajian ini mengkaji tantangan yang dihadapi pesantren dalam beradaptasi di era digital dengan tetap mempertahankan nilai-nilai tradisional. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan analisis dokumen. Temuan ini menyoroti strategi pesantren dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi digital ke dalam kurikulum mereka, sehingga memungkinkan siswa memperoleh kompetensi moral dan teknis yang penting untuk persaingan global. Meskipun alat-alat digital seperti platform e-learning dan media sosial meningkatkan pembelajaran, alat-alat tersebut juga menghadirkan risiko, seperti penyalahgunaan dan erosi nilai, yang memerlukan pengawasan etis. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa pesantren harus mengadopsi kurikulum yang fleksibel dan inovatif yang menggabungkan ajaran Islam tradisional dengan keterampilan abad ke-21, didukung oleh pembangunan infrastruktur dan pelatihan literasi digital. Dengan menyelaraskan nilai-nilai tradisional dengan sarana pendidikan modern, pesantren dapat tetap relevan dan berdampak dalam membentuk generasi yang bermoral tinggi dan berdaya saing global.

Abstract

This study explores the evolution of interpretive approaches in the study of the Qur'an, emphasizing their historical progression and contemporary relevance. Using qualitative library research, primary data were sourced from classical and contemporary exegesis texts, while secondary data included scholarly works and related studies. Analytical methods involved content and interpretive analysis. The findings reveal a dynamic development of Qur'anic exegesis, beginning with the Prophet Muhammad's oral interpretations, evolving through the companions' systematic methods, and culminating in modern interdisciplinary approaches. Contemporary methods, such as hermeneutics, thematic analysis, and maqasid al-shari'ah-based exegesis, highlight a shift toward contextual understanding and integration of social sciences and sciences in interpretation. These methodologies address pressing modern issues, including gender equality, environmental sustainability, and digital literacy, aligning Qur'anic principles with current societal needs. The study underscores the critical role of modern exegetical approaches in bridging traditional Islamic scholarship with contemporary challenges, ensuring the Qur'an's continued relevance in guiding ethical, social, and scientific endeavors.

Abstract

Globalization as a complex phenomenon has influenced various aspects of life, including the existence of Islamic education institutions. This article aims to critically analyze the influence of globalization on Islamic education institutions, both as a discourse and a phenomenon. The research method used is descriptive-analytic, involving the decomposition and interpretation of data to understand the impact of globalization. The results of the study show that globalization presents challenges such as global competition and the potential for identity erosion, but also opens up opportunities such as access to global resources and the development of innovative curricula. It is concluded that Islamic education institutions need to adopt adaptive and innovative strategies to remain relevant and make a positive contribution in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This paper discusses the contributions of classical scholars to the development of Islamic religious sciences, including theology, fiqh, tafsir, hadith, and tasawuf. The background of this research focuses on the importance of understanding the thoughts of classical Muslim intellectuals in the context of contemporary Islamic education. The method employed is a qualitative approach, collecting data through literature review and document analysis. The findings indicate that classical scholars, such as al-Ghazali and Ibn Khaldun, have created relevant and systematic methodologies in the study of religious sciences that can be applied in modern education. The discussion reveals that integrating Islamic values across various disciplines is crucial for shaping students' character and addressing contemporary challenges. The conclusion emphasizes the need to revitalize educational approaches that accommodate religious values and scientific knowledge, as well as the importance of continuing the intellectual legacy of classical scholars in facing today's complexities.
