Abstract

CV. Serba Jaya Oke is a plastic-based household appliance company in Surabaya. This company is a pioneer in providing a variety of high-quality plastic products for household needs. In 2023, CV. Serba Jaya Oke experienced defects of 26% almost every month for its plastic plate production. The Quality Control Circle (QCC) method is an approach to handling defective plate products by involving employees in quality control. Identification in the QCC method also uses PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), seven tools, and the 5W + 1H matrix to analyze the causes of defects and determine appropriate corrective actions. The results of improvements to the plastic plate production process for 1 month in May 2023 showed a decrease in defects from 25.7% to 6%.

Abstract

Financial distress in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has been a problematic issue for a long time. By 2020, the total debt of SOEs in Indonesia reach 1.682 trillion Rupiahs, whereas 68% out of all SOEs that receive state capital injections are facing bankruptcy. However, a more critical perspective still needs to investigate how commitment to promoting innovation relates to financial distress in SOEs. The existing studies of financial distress in SOEs have mainly focused on analyzing technical and structural factors and the predictive models using company financial indicators. This study aims to analyze the financial distress and innovation in SOEs critically. This study uses official data of PT Krakatau Steel from 2015-2020 and employs the combined analysis method. Quantitative regression analysis analyzes the company's financial distress throughout the period. In contrast, qualitative content analysis analyzes the relevance of the company's innovation commitment in the same period. The study shows that apart from ineffective capital structure decisions, low commitment to innovation is an important factor influencing financial distress in SOEs. The prospect of restructuring as a short-term strategy is also discussed.

Abstract

Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak empat kali, sehingga diperoleh 16 satuan percobaan.

Abstract

This study analyses the market potential and financial feasibility of milkfish floss enriched with ulin banana corm, addressing a gap in literature concerning the economic viability of such sustainable food innovations. While prior research confirms the technical suitability of banana corms in food products, their commercial potential remains underexplored. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this research gathered qualitative data through in-depth interviews with experts, and quantitative data via a consumer questionnaire (n=70). The findings reveal significant financial promise, with a calculated profit margin of 43.3%, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp 51 million, an 80.18% Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and a two-year Payback Period (PBP). Consumer analysis indicates strong appreciation for the product's health benefits, natural ingredients, and unique taste, with a high overall acceptability score (3.9/5). However, the primary challenge identified is consumer hesitation due to differences in taste and texture compared to traditional milkfish floss. The discussion concludes that despite this barrier, the product holds strong potential for success, particularly among health-conscious and environmentally aware consumers. To achieve wider market acceptance, the study recommends investing in more efficient processing technology and implementing targeted marketing strategies that emphasize the product's nutritional advantages and sustainability credentials

Abstract

The development of agribusiness based on village level flagship commodities cannot be carried out in a partial or fragmented manner. It requires an integrated agribusiness system approach that encompasses the entire value chain from upstream to downstream. The objective of this study is to identify the potential of village flagship commodities within an integrated agribusiness system and to develop an Agribusiness Modernization System (AMS) through a case study conducted in Suci Village, Panti Subdistrict, Jember Regency, East Java. Agribusiness modernization has been shown to facilitate the introduction of appropriate technologies, enhance value-chain efficiency for agricultural products, and strengthen the capacities of farmers and local enterprises. Flagship commodities can be determined not merely by historical quantitative advantages but by competitive potential validated through four empirical domains: (1) biophysical contextuality verification, (2) sensory quality validation, (3) market valuation assessment, and (4) institutional readiness analysis. This study demonstrates that integrating the pillars of socio-economic governance with biophysical potential yields a comprehensive approach to rural development. The Place-Based Commodity Selection Framework provides a definitive answer to the fundamental question of commodity selection by moving beyond descriptive–historical methods toward a prescriptive–strategic paradigm. The four-domain analysis convincingly identifies coffee as the flagship commodity of Suci Village, with validation supported by convergent evidence on biophysical suitability, sensory quality potential, significant economic value opportunities, and institutional preparedness. Thus, this study makes a practical contribution to the development of sustainable and competitive rural agribusiness.
