Abstract

The purpose of this study was to enhance critical thinking skills through the implementation of coastal culture-based differentiated science learning. The research was conducted from August to November 2024 using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design at SMP Negeri 2 Bengkulu, Indonesia. The sample consisted of three eighth-grade classes: experimental group 1 (8A), experimental group 2 (8B), and the control group (8C), selected through purposive sampling. Students’ critical thinking skills were assessed using a validated and reliable test instrument (r = .89). Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, which revealed significant differences among groups (p < .001). The average N-gain score of critical thinking skills in experimental group 1 (.40, medium category) was higher than that of experimental group 2 (.20, low category) and the control group (.009, low category). Based on the hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that coastal culture-based differentiated science learning has a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills (p < .001). These findings confirm that culturally contextualized differentiated learning significantly enhances critical thinking. Theoretically, this model contributes to science pedagogy by integrating cultural relevance to support effective, innovative instruction

Abstract

This study aims to characterize the actual circumstances surrounding the oversight that school principals performed during the epidemic. Even though learning takes place at home, teachers still need to maintain administrative discipline and follow any applicable requirements when implementing the program. This study uses a qualitative methodology and is a field investigation. Snowball sampling was utilized to gather information, while interviews and observations with principals, teachers, parents, and students at senior high schools in Bengkulu City were employed as data gathering strategies. Data reduction, data presentation, and data verification were the methods employed in data analysis. The study's findings outline 14 features that the principal of the school should have in place to ensure that instructional monitoring is effective throughout the epidemic.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are indispensable in 21st century learning. The rapid development of technology in the digital era demands the readiness of students to compete and face various problems that arise. These problems require skills in solving problems. This study aims to illustrate how the mathematical problem solving ability of students of the mathematics tadris study program is based on the initial ability of students. This research is a quantitative descriptive research, with the research subjects of mathematics tadris students totaling 15 people. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, interviews, and documentation in the form of test questions and student answers. The results revealed that mathematical problem solving skills: a) high-ability students were good in all mathematical problem solving indicators and received satisfactory score scores; b) Moderately capable students mostly master 4 to 3 indicators of mathematical problem solving, but the final result of the question answers given by most students is correct; c) Low-ability students are mostly only able to master 2 to 3 indicators of mathematical problem solving, so many problems are solved incorrectly and even incorrectly. Researchers concluded that there are several characters of mastery of mathematical problem solving indicators at each level of students' initial abilities. Lecturers need to present learning methods that are able to accommodate so that students' mathematical problem solving skills can be developed optimally, in each student based on initial abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students is implemented as an implementation of the independent curriculum at the Lubuklinggau Nation Primary School for Boys and Girls. The method used in this research is qualitative. The research subjects consisted of 1 school principal, 2 teachers and 2 students. The research location is Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School, Lubuklinggau City. The research results show that Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School has implemented an independent curriculum since 2022, currently, Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School is in the Freedom to Change category. The classes that have implemented the independent curriculum are Class I and Class IV. The Independent Curriculum gives educators the freedom to create quality learning that suits students' needs and learning environment. The characteristics of an independent curriculum include Soft Skills and Character Development, Focus on Essential Material, and flexible learning. In implementing the independent curriculum, schools must carry out projects to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. The project is not directed at achieving specific learning achievement targets, so it is not tied to subject content. Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School has implemented project-based learning and inquiry learning before the implementation of the independent curriculum, where these two methods are methods that must be used in the independent curriculum. So that Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School does not have difficulties and obstacles in implementing the independent curriculum. The project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students has been carried out in the form of student performance. Student performance is an annual routine agenda that has long been carried out by SD Putra Putri Bangsa. Student performance activities are carried out in even semesters. In 2023, the theme of student performance activities is traditional art. This project has proven successful in the planning, implementation, and assessment stages showing the six dimensions of the Pancasila profile

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a chemistry e-module based on local wisdom in Bengkulu using Canva and Flip PDF Professional. It also aims to determine the effectiveness, efficiency, and practicality of e-modules as well as the degree to which they raise students' chemistry learning outcomes. A module based on customs from the Bengkulu people. The ADDIE development stages analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation are used in this study's use of the Research and Development technique at MAN 2 Bengkulu City. Questionnaires and assessments of learning outcomes are two methods used to collect data. Following the use of the e-module, student learning outcomes were 80.59, with an 88.24% completion rate. The t test findings show that the e-module is beneficial in enhancing learning outcomes; for alpha = 5%, the t count of 15.52 is greater than the t table of 1.694. The average student assessment for the product efficiency component of the chemistry e-module was 3.5, falling into the good category with an 87.5% percentage, according to the results of the student questionnaire. In contrast, the average student evaluation for the product's usefulness factor was 3.53, placing it in the good category with an 88.25% percentage

Abstract

The existing literacy program in the higher education has not successfully translated into effective science learning, resulting in students lacking awareness of the significance of scientific literacy in their daily lives. This study aims to analyse the validity, practicality and effectiveness of using biodiversity e-module based on socioscientific issues and local potential to improve students’ scientific literacy. The method employed in this research is the research and development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. The participants of this study are 37 fourth-semester students enrolled in the Tadris IPA Program at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu, who are taking the biodiversity course in the academic year 2023/2024, consisting of one class. Data collection was conducted through an indirect communication approach using instruments such as validation questionnaires and tests to obtain data on scientific literacy achievements. The findings of this study are the utilization of biodiversity teaching materials grounded in socio-scientific issues and local potential is highly suitable for implementation in science education. The instructional materials exhibit a commendable feasibility level, meeting the criteria for good feasibility. This indicates that the teaching materials are readily comprehensible for students. Moreover, the developed teaching materials prove effective in enhancing four key facets of scientific literacy such as the body of knowledge, science as a way of investigation, science as a way of thinking and the interaction of science and technology and society.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a product in the form of a digital-based module intended for Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students. The research and development used in this study is the 4D model which stands for define, design, develop, and disseminate which is simplified to only a partial development stage. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation methods. The results showed an overview of the digital-based module development process, including analysis of learning needs, curriculum, students, subject matter, tasks, and formulating learning objectives. The design stage includes media selection, format, and initial design of digital-based modules. The development stage is only partially carried out and will involve making modules using the design that has been prepared. This digital-based module is hoped to help smooth the learning process, overcome obstacles in understanding science subjects, and allow students to learn independently at school and at home. In addition, the module also includes elements of local cultural preservation that can be an added value in education in the Madrasah Aliyah environment.
