Abstract

The teacher's ability to compile a test script using effective sentences is still very concerning. It is known from the texts compiled by many teachers of SMKN 2 Ngawi that do not have a clear subject or predicate, many word choices are wrong, as well as the use of spelling. Therefore, this study focused on the use of ineffective sentences, especially in terms of equivalence, efficiency, accuracy, and spelling. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data are samples of summative questions in SMKN 2 Ngawi, similar research and relevant literature. The technique of data analysis is through reading a sample text summative questions, marking sentences that contain ineffective sentences based on the characteristics of effective sentences, classifying the ineffectiveness of sentences based on the aspects analyzed, calculating the number of errors, concluding aspects of errors and compiling a synthesis of the analyzed data by interpreting them. The results of this study found that 379 sentences were ineffective, consisting of 25.6% error in equivalence, 12.1% savings, 18.2% accuracy and 44.1% spelling.

Abstract

The Value of Budi Pekerti Education in Prabu Angling  Darma Folklore.  Indonesia has various kinds of folklore that contain the values of ethic education. This study aims to describe the values of ethic education contained in the folklore of Angling Darma scipt. The method this study is descriptive qualitative. The object of this research is the East Java folklore manuscript Prabu Angling Darma. Data collection using reading and note taking techniques. Data analysis this study includes data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of this study are the values of ethic education contained in the text of the folklore Prabu Angling Darma among others : fair, trustworthy, honest, hard work, affection, forgiveness, patience, and tawadhu (hamble).

Abstract

Maguti is one of the traditions that still exist in Jagir Village, Sine Subdistrict, Ngawi Regency, East Java. This research aims to provide information by describing one by one the equipment used in the implementation of the maguti tradition and describing the construction of the mindset of the Ngawi people towards the maguti tradition. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The source of data is from interviews. The result of this research is that Ngawi people have a mindset that the implementation of this maguti tradition has the aim of “Kangge bucal sengkolone kari segerwarase”, meaning to get rid of all negative things, stay safe. The implementation can be done when the baby is two hundred and forty-five days old, can also be done when stepping into adulthood or before marriage. The equipment (ubo rampe) in the maguti tradition is bucu, jenang abang putih, jenang sepuh, banyu suci, setaman flowers, sego udhuk, sego golong, gedhang setangkep, asahan, kopat lepet.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the meaning of Riffaterre semiotic approach through heuristic reading, hermeneutic reading, matrix, model, variant, hypogram, and poetry relevance entitled Ziaroh 1 with Islamic teachings. The method used is a qualitative interpretive method with content analysis. The results of this study are: 1) in the heuristic reading, there are thirteen lines referentially meaning the words in the poem are derived from KBBI; 2) on hermeneutic readings, there are thirteen lines that have the meaning of an activity (pilgrimage) in remembrance of a deceased person, ie mother; 3) bermatriks, a child who misses his late mother; 4) modeled, poetic and all forms of action derived from the "I" attitude; 5) take a run, I'll take care of you; iron fences and tombs; it flowed water. The relevance to the teachings of Islam, namely the awareness of the certainty about death; surrender to God; and devoted to the elderly. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungapkan makna dengan pendekatan semiotik Riffaterre melalui pembacaan heuristik, pembacaan hermeneutik, matriks, model, varian, hipogram, serta relevansi puisi berjudul Ziaroh 1 dengan ajaran Islam. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode kualitatif interpretatif dengan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian ini: 1) pada pembacaan heuristik, terdapat tiga belas baris yang secara referensial arti kata-kata dalam puisi tersebut berasal dari KBBI; 2) pada pembacaan hermeneutik, terdapat tiga belas baris yang memiliki makna sebuah kegiatan (ziarah) mengenang seseorang yang telah meninggal dunia, yaitu ibu; 3) bermatriks, seorang anak yang merindukan mendiang ibunya; 4) bermodel, puitis dan segala bentuk tindakan yang bersumber dari sikap “aku”; 5) bervarian, kukenang dirimu; pagar besi dan pusara; tetirah itu mengalir banyu. Adapun relevansi dengan ajaran Islam, yaitu kesadaran adanya kepastian tentang kematian; berserah diri kepada Allah; dan berbakti pada orang tua.

Abstract

Suwuk is a traditional medicine that still exists in Javanese society, including the Ngawi people. This study aims to describe and explain the Javanese people's mindset about suwuk as a traditional medicine. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were people who were directly involved in the Suwuk procession in the Ngawi Regency, East Java Province. The result of his research is that Suwuk is included in the element of technology. The practice of suwuk is carried out using media and mantras. Community pattern construction: Suwuk still exist and coexist with modern medicine; The emergence of diseases can be caused by two things, namely diseases that can be treated medically and there are diseases that are considered unnatural so that they must be treated through Suwuk. There is a pattern of community treatment that applies from generation to generation and is suggestive. The treatment procedure through Suwuk consists of two stages, namely: first, the stage of diagnosis and selection of the right treatment method; and second, the application of treatment. Diagnosis is basically done through numerology or petungan , intuitive knowledge. While the application of treatment through techniques, among others, through the media and spells.
