Abstract

The adoption of e-wallets for zakat payments remains low due to limited digital literacy, security concerns, and the requirement for Sharia compliance, despite fintech innovations improving efficiency and transparency. This study investigates the influence of opportunities and challenges in e-wallet usage on community participation in digital zakat payments. A mixed-methods approach with a Sequential Explanatory design was employed. The quantitative phase used a correlational approach with questionnaires, analyzed in SPSS for descriptive statistics, and tested for validity, reliability, normality, and linearity, using t-tests and F-tests. The qualitative phase involved a case study with interviews and documentation from 20 informants over 59 days, analyzed through data condensation, descriptive presentation, and triangulation of sources and techniques. Results indicate moderately high perceptions of e-wallet opportunities (mean = 16.00), high perceived challenges (mean = 36.10), and moderately high zakat usage (mean = 16.43). Statistical analyses confirmed significant positive relationships between variables. The Madura community, especially younger generations, uses M-Banking and ShopeePay for daily transactions, including zakat, although most still prefer cash. E-wallets provide accessibility, flexibility, and transactional proof, but limited knowledge, security concerns, and traditional habits limit their adoption for zakat payments. The study concludes that opportunities enhance zakat participation, challenges reduce interest, and overall adoption depends on community understanding, access, and trust. This research offers important insights into how e-wallet opportunities and challenges affect the effectiveness of digital zakat payments.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has paved the way for innovative approaches in urban planning and infrastructure management. Digital twins, virtual replicas of physical entities, have emerged as a transformative tool in these fields, allowing for real-time monitoring and analysis. This research aims to explore the potential of digital twins in enhancing urban planning and infrastructure management. Specifically, it investigates how these technologies can improve decision-making processes, optimize resource allocation, and foster sustainable urban development. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data analysis from existing digital twin projects with qualitative case studies. Data were collected from various urban environments utilizing digital twins, focusing on metrics such as efficiency, cost savings, and stakeholder engagement. The findings reveal that digital twins significantly enhance urban planning by providing precise simulations of urban environments. Case studies demonstrated improved decision-making capabilities, leading to a 30% increase in resource efficiency and a 25% reduction in project costs. Stakeholder engagement also improved, with participants reporting higher satisfaction levels due to transparent processes. Digital twins represent a paradigm shift in urban planning and infrastructure management. The integration of real-time data and predictive analytics provides urban planners and managers with valuable insights, enabling more informed decisions. This research underscores the importance of adopting digital twin technologies to foster sustainable urban development and improve the overall quality of life in cities. Further studies are recommended to explore the long-term impacts of digital twin implementations across diverse urban contexts.

Abstract

Background. Global environmental destruction is driving the search for alternative environmental ethics that is not only universal but also rooted in local wisdom. Ancient Javanese philosophy holds the concept of Rahayu which represents the harmony of the cosmos and the principle of sustainability. Purpose. This research aims to reconstruct the concept of Rahayu as a relevant framework for local ecosophy to answer contemporary ecological challenges. Method. The hermeneutical approach is used to analyze ancient manuscripts, oral traditions, and cultural practices related to Rahayu. Interviews with cultural sources and literature studies support philosophical and ecological interpretations. Results. Research has found that Rahayu contains the principles of cosmological balance, respect for nature, and resource sustainability. This value is in line with modern environmental ethics but is firmly rooted in Javanese agrarian cosmology. Conclusion. Rahayu's reconstruction produces a framework for local ecosophy that has the potential to be applied in education, policy, and environmental social movements. This concept can bridge traditional knowledge and global environmental ethical theory. This research offers a unique integration between modern environmental philosophy and Javanese local wisdom through the Rahayu concept, while presenting an analytical method that combines philosophical, anthropological, and cultural ecological approaches.
