Abstract

This study aims to improve the logical-mathematical abilities of children aged 5–6 years through the medium of Jumbo Snakes and Ladders games at Aisyiyah 12 Kindergarten, Palembang. The method used is the Kemmis & McTaggart model, Class Action Research (PTK), which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research lasted for one month with a collaborative approach between researchers and classroom teachers. Data is collected through observation and documentation, and analyzed to measure logical-mathematical indicators, such as number recognition, addition, subtraction, and reasoning. The results of the study show that the use of jumbo snakes and ladders games can increase children's enthusiasm for learning dengan tingkat pencapaian keberhasilan 18,5% dalam katagori Berkembang Sesuai Harapan dan 81,5% dalam katagori Berkembang Sangat Baik, sebelum di lakukanya tindakan 14,8%, meningkat menjadi 29,6% pada siklus l, dan pada siklus ll meningkat menjadi 81,5%. Peningkatan tersebut di lihat dari kondisi awal kemampuan logis-matematis anak di TK Aisyiyah 12 palembang yang berada pada katagori Berkembang Sangat Baik (BSB), sebelum di lakukanya tindakan mencapai 14,8%, meningkat menjadi 29,6% pada siklus l, dan pada siklus ll meningkat menjadi 81,8%. strengthen their understanding of basic mathematical concepts, and foster systematic thinking skills. This educational game has proven to be effective as a fun and interactive learning medium in the development of early childhood logical-mathematical intelligence.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen literacy and numeracy competencies in junior high schools (SMP) in Ogan Ilir Regency that receive low evaluation scores in their educational units. The community service partners consist of 11 junior high schools, represented by the Principals and one Vice Principal in charge of curriculum. The implementation method includes three main stages: 1) Training, 2) Mentoring, and 3) Supervision. The evaluation instruments used include questionnaires, observation sheets, and analysis of participants' work documents to measure improvements in knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to literacy and numeracy. Data analysis techniques involve descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results of this community service activity indicate that partner schools have shown increased knowledge and experience in enhancing professional literacy and numeracy competencies, as well as skills in developing literacy- and numeracy-based learning tools relevant to junior high school students.

Abstract

Perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini sangat dipengaruhi oleh cara kerja otak, sehingga pemahaman berbasis neurosains menjadi kompetensi penting bagi calon guru PAUD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan mahasiswa PG-PAUD FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya terhadap pengembangan e-modul berorientasi neuropedagogi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 55 mahasiswa semester awal. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket daring dan dianalisis menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa menilai materi neurosains dan perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini penting (90,9%), serta membutuhkan sumber belajar inovatif (87,2%),  dan e-modul dengan fitur fleksibel serta video pembelajaran  (84,5%). Media audiovisual menjadi pilihan utama (56,4%), sedangkan sumber belajar paling sering digunakan adalah internet (81,8%). Temuan ini menegaskan urgensi pengembangan e-modul digital interaktif berorientasi neuropedagogi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual mahasiswa dan penerapan teori neurosains dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini. Implikasinya, e-modul ini dapat mendorong kemandirian belajar dan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran berbasis neurosains di PG-PAUD.

Abstract

Perkembangan anak usia dini sangat dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi pengasuhan yang tepat. Hal ini menjadi salah satu konsentrasi yang akan diteliti karena kompetensi pengasuhan merupakan kemampuan penting bagi calon guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini untuk memahami dan menerapkan praktik perawatan anak secara tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PG-PAUD) FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya terhadap pengembangan media video pembelajaran interaktif pada mata kuliah Perawatan Bayi dan Batita guna meningkatkan kompetensi pengasuhan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan subjek 55 mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket daring dan dianalisis menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas mahasiswa menilai pembelajaran perawatan anak usia dini sangat penting (92,7%), menghendaki inovasi media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif (88,5%), dan menyukai media berbasis audio-visual (79,4%). Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya inovasi media pembelajaran interaktif yang mampu menjembatani teori dan praktik, memperkuat keterampilan prosedural, serta meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif mahasiswa. Implikasi penelitian ini memberikan dasar empiris bagi pengembangan video pembelajaran interaktif yang kontekstual, fleksibel, dan efektif dalam mendukung peningkatan kompetensi pengasuhan calon guru PAUD.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using a “Big Book” based on measurement concepts on the logical thinking ability of children aged 4–5 years. This research was conducted in a kindergarten (TK Al-Kautsar Indralaya) using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Sixteen children were given a pretest to assess baseline logical thinking skills, then participated in learning activities using the Big Book media over a two-week period, followed by a posttest. Data were collected through structured observation with an instrument covering four indicators of logical thinking (understanding cause-effect, classifying, drawing conclusions, and problem-solving). The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and a paired t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s logical thinking after using the Big Book. The average posttest score was higher than the pretest score, and 100% of children reached at least the expected development category. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the Big Book with measurement concepts is effective in enhancing logical thinking abilities in early childhood. The Big Book’s interactive and concrete learning experience helped children grasp measurement concepts (such as size, length, weight) in a fun way, which in turn improved their reasoning skills.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the “Smart Shape” game on the logical thinking abilities of children aged 5–6 years in TK Al-Kautsar Indralaya. A one-group pretest-posttest design was utilized with 16 participants. Children’s logical thinking skills were measured through an observation checklist covering four indicators: distinguishing, classifying, pattern recognition, and sequencing. The intervention involved playful learning activities using the Smart Shape game, and data were analyzed with a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in logical thinking after the intervention. The percentage of children in the highest development category increased from 0% at pretest to 87.5% at posttest. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the Smart Shape game effectively enhances logical thinking abilities in early childhood and can be recommended as an innovative educational tool for teachers to engage children in fun, cognitively stimulating activities

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to recognize number concepts in children aged 4–5 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the number matching board game on children's number recognition abilities. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method (pre-experimental) through a one group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 16 children in group A at Kindergarten Negeri Pembina Kayuagung who were selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through structured observation using checklist sheets, smartboards, and LKPD arranged based on number recognition indicators. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, Chi-Square normality tests, and hypothesis tests using t-tests. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (x² count ≤ x² table). The hypothesis test showed that tcount (3.53) ≥ ttable (1.75) so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. These results prove that the number matching board game has an effect on children's number recognition abilities. Game-based learning media has been proven effective in stimulating the cognitive development of early childhood, especially in the aspect of early numeracy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of number bottle cap media on the number sequencing ability of children aged 4–5 years at TK Islam Al-Furqon Pedamaran. The research employed a quantitative experimental approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 16 children selected through total sampling. Data were collected through observation sheets and documentation, and were analyzed using normality and hypothesis testing. The average score of children’s number sequencing ability increased from 48.3 in the pretest to 84.5 in the posttest, showing an improvement of 36.2 points. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test indicated that both pretest and posttest data were normally distributed (pretest Sig. = 0.281; posttest Sig. = 0.334). Based on the paired sample t-test using SPSS version 26, the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was p < 0.001, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, with a t-value of −19.915. These findings indicate that number bottle cap media is effective and has a significant effect on the number sequencing ability of children aged 4–5 years because it provides concrete, visual, and interactive learning experiences; therefore, this media can be used to support cognitive development, particularly in early childhood number sequencing skills, and can also stimulate children’s language, physical-motor, and social-emotional development.
