The student period is a critical time for forming lifestyle patterns. Wellness physiotherapy emphasizes prevention, health promotion, and the formation of safe physical activity habits. The purpose of introducing the concept of wellness physiotherapy and conducting basic health checks for students at SMAN 6 Cimahi is to increase health awareness and detect early risk factors. The PKM activity took the form of group education and basic health screening (pre-activity questionnaires such as PAR-Q+, blood pressure measurement, body mass index, resting heart rate, sit-and-reach flexibility, and screening for health problems). The PKM activity took the form of group education and health screening examinations (pre-activity questionnairessuch as PAR-Q+, blood pressure measurements, body mass index, resting heart rate, sit-and-reach flexibility, and simple functional fitness measurements). The results were reported descriptively, and clinical follow-up was recommendedwhen necessary. Results from 120 participating students showed that 18% exhibited signs of high blood pressure/other risk factors requiring follow-up, 32%did not meet physical activity recommendations, and >85% reported increasedknowledge after the session. This program is effective as an initial intervention toincrease student health awareness and detect health issues requiringreferral.

Abstract

Worker health contributes greatly to productivity and social welfare. High levels of work stress, lack of physical activity, and unhealthy eating habits can increase the risk of metabolic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of workers in Maleer Village, Bandung, about the importance of balancing physical and mental health (mind-body wellness) and conducting early detection of metabolic risks. The implementation methods included health education, relaxation technique training (mindfulness breathing and progressive muscle relaxation), and basic health checks (blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and body mass index). A total of 30 participants from the working community took part in this activity. The results showed a 45% increase in knowledge after the training, and 30% of participants were found to have mild to moderate metabolic risks. This activity demonstrates that mind-body wellness training is effective in increasing public awareness and skills in maintaining physical and mental health.

Abstract

Changes in modern lifestyles, which tend to be sedentary, have increased theprevalence of metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, anddyslipidemia in urban communities. Regular monitoring of health biomarkersis an important step in the early detection of metabolic risks. However, the limited availability of simple and easy-to-use monitoring facilitieshas resulted in low public awareness of their health conditions. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to increase awarenessof health among people at risk of metabolic disorders through the implementation of aGoogle Sheet-based biomarker monitoring system at the Prima Husada Clinic in Bandung. The methodsused in this activity include socialization, training in the use of Google Sheet HealthTracker, and evaluation of health awareness levels and changes inbiomarker parameters (blood pressure, BMI, blood sugar levels, and cholesterol). The resultsof the activity showed a 52% increase in participants' understanding of the importance ofhealth monitoring, and 68% of participants began to routinely recordhealth indicators for one month. The Google Sheet system proved to be effective, simple, and accessible via mobile phones, making it easier forthe community to independently monitor their health conditions. This activity demonstratesthat simple digital innovations can be a promotive and preventive solutionin community physiotherapy to reduce the risk of metabolic diseases.
