Abstract

The purpose of the research is to discuss the form of morphology on the words in the e-commerce terms. It describes the types of word formation and explain the meaning of the terms. In analyzing the data the writer uses morphology analysis. The research is qualitative research. The data are taken from e-commerce terms. The writer uses document and observation method to collect the data. The writer analyses the words based on the elements of words. In this research showed that the word formation categories that found in the e-commerce terms are derivation word, compounding word, and phrase. Those terms have complexity in the process of its formation and have specific meaning. Therefore, it necessary to be explained more detailed to avoid misunderstanding in communication.

Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the supporting factors in the success of language learning. Developing the ability to communicate in English either in spoken or written form includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing. One of the most important aspects of language learning is vocabulary. Understanding vocabulary is considered important in the process of language learning or the development of a person's ability in a controlled language. Not all vocabularies have the same meaning. All understanding will depend on the context.

Abstract

The development of technology and science is a driving factor in the development of the world economy. This study aims to design a bookkeeping accounting information system in PPTK North Cimahi District. The research method used in the form of interviews, observations and literature review. The results of the study show several display structures on the menu, several hardware and software specifications used in the accounting information system design system. Then there are several problems encountered in the designed system, The design of the information system uses the Waterfall method using the Visual Studio 2010 programming language and the database uses Microsoft Access, so that it is expected to run as needed, and the implementation and testing of this information system can be said to have been appropriate and can run well so that it can be used to facilitate data processing. According to the needs of the institution concerned.Optimal use of accounting information systems in an institution can provide benefits to the organization, namely making it easier for organizations to adapt to a constantly changing environment, better internal control systems, and improving organizational external relations.

Abstract

The main objective of the research is to find out whether story telling technique can improve vocabulary skill or not. The descriptive quantitative method was employed in this research. The samples of the research were business management of MBIS-W41/15 which consists of twenty one students. To collect the data, the writer used questionnaire to know the students’ perception with storytelling technique and vocabulary test to know whether the final test score of the students have a significant progress or not. Storytelling technique deliver a good method to support,moyivate, and encourage knowledge. It can be seen that students were encouraged to be actively and motivately in learning process. Based on the reserach finding, it can be conclude that storytelling technique can improve vocabulary skill and give good atmosphere in teaching learning process. Using storytelling students more interesting and understanding new words. They can work together and share idea to encourage new knowledge which discuss in topic of their lesson. It is good applying  story telling to improve students’ vocabulary

Abstract

Human needs a means of communication to fulfill their social needs. To support communication easier, electronic media is used, such as television, radio, telephone, and handphone. Electronic media provide information can be understood more easily and instanly. The development of era has been influence in communication and interaction way. In this case, language which be used also influenced. Nowadays, many of slang word used in communication. Slang is a language variety which are informal which used to communication more easily and instanly in social group.The objectives of research is to inform about slang word (in this case ‘alay language’) which complicated with standard of Indonesia language. Therefore, the use of alay language is worried because it has many errors in Indonesia language. And, it can damage the standard of Indonesia language. The method used in this research is qualitative method, writer select descriptive techniques to analyze the data. Data obtained came from BlacBerry messenger, twitter, instragram, path, line and facebook. To colect data, writer used the method of observation. The writer found that in Alay ‘Alay’ is one of slang language that used in talk between teenagers. It can be understood by certain group particularly group who use ‘alay’ language. ‘Alay’ language for communication has many errors in Bahasa Indonesia. Alay language in social media can be minimized in order to avoid misunderstanding in delivering message.Key Words: communication, ‘slang’ language, alay, social media

Abstract

The main objective of the research is to find out whether contextual teaching and learning can improve speaking skill or not. The descriptive quantitative method was employed in this research. The population of the research was the students of accounting computerized of Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic. The samples of the research were accounting computerized of AKE-K31/16 which consists of twenty four students. To collect the data, the writer used questionnaire to find out the students’ perception toward the use of contextual teaching and learning and speaking test to know whether the final test score of the students have a significant progress or not. Contextual teaching and learning offers a highly natural and powerful means to convey, learn, and retain information. It can be seen that students were encouraged to be actively and motivately in every activity. Based on the reserach finding, it can be conclude that contextual teaching and learning can improve speaking skill and give good atmosphere in teaching learning process. Therefore, it is suggested that: (1) it is better to apply contextual teaching and learning to improve speaking skill; (2) the students are expected to be more active in the teaching and learning process in order to improve their speaking skill; (3) this result of the study can be used as a beginning step to conduct a further research.

Abstract

Mempelajari Bahasa Inggris merupakan modal penting bagi para tenaga kesehatan terutama bagi para Perekam Medis dan Informasi Kesehatan (PMIK) untuk menjawab berbagai tantangan dalam dunia profesi mereka. Peran instruktur tentunya sangat penting demi memfasilitasi mereka memperoleh keterampilan Bahasa Inggris yang memadai. Perekam Medis yang saat ini bertugas diharapkan dapat menguasai Bahasa Inggris. Mengingat cukup banyak catatan medis yang ada saat ini untuk menggunakan Bahasa Inggris, di tambah lagi permasalahan tenaga Perekam Medis mengalami kesulitan dalam berbicara Bahasa Inggris pada saat menghadapi pasien atau tamu asing yang akan melakukan tahapan pendaftaran. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) adalah tercipta kegiatan belajar mengajar yang menyenangkan dan menarik berdasarkan kemampuan para tenaga kesehatan (Perawat dan PMIK) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara (speaking) dan menulis (writing). Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, dan roleplay untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Bahasa Inggris. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini lebih difokuskan pada kegiatan daring melalui zoommeeting dalam kondisi dan situasi pandemi COVID-19. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah meningkatnya keterampilan speaking, minat bagi para PMIK dalam mempelajari Bahasa Inggris serta menyadari pentingnya penguasaan Bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan keahlian dan kompetensi mereka. Setelah pengabdian ini selesai, diharapkan para tenaga medis dapat mengaplikasikan keterampilannya dalam berkomunikasi baik dengan pasien yang berkewarganegaraan asing atau tamu dari lembaga kesehatan dunia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Cooperative Language Teaching and Learning method is more effective than the traditional learning to teach vocabulary. This is an experimental quantitative research. The population for this study is freshmen majoring in management. The use of Cooperative Language Teaching and Learning method through engineering teams-games-tournament (TGT) in the English vocabulary learning is considered to be effective, creative, and fun to increase the students’ motivation to learn and to improve their vocabulary mastery. The findings showed that the Cooperative Language Teaching and Learning is an effective method to teach vocabulary. It is, thus, recommended that (1) the Cooperative Language Learning and Teaching improve the students’ ability to remember vocabulary, (2) students are expected to be more active in the learning process in order to improve the ability to solve the problem of vocabulary (3) the results of this study can be used as an initial step to hold further research.

Abstract

Tujuan pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan teknik public speaking dan presentasi di era revolusioner 4.0 kepada para guru atau tenaga pengajar. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini difokuskan pada pelatihan bagaimana guru atau pun tenaga pengajar mampu memberikan dan menyampaikan materi dengan baik. Metode public speaking dan teknik presentasi sangat penting untuk menunjang kegiatan yang sering dilakukan di suatu lembaga maupun dalam proses belajar mengajar. Kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk guru dan tenaga pengajar. Pada kenyataanya, masih ada beberapa diantaranya yang minim mempunyai keahlian public speaking dan masih ada beberapa yang ragu menyajikan presentasi dengan baik dan optimal. Oleh karena itu kegiatan ini menjelaskan bagaimana menjadi pembicara yang baik yang menitikberatkan pada teknik presentasi meliputi hal – hal dan tahapan – tahapan yang perlu diperhatikan. Kegiatan ini memberikan pengetahuan kepada seluruh peserta tentang public speaking yang bisa digunakan dalam presentasi yang baik. Untuk itu diperlukan keahlian untuk mendukung proses belajar mengajar yang bermanfaat untuk era ini
