Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan yang memiliki banyak perairan dan telah diakui dunia internasional. Obat-obatan dari laut merupakan prospek yang cerah dalam menanggulangi semakin bertambahnya penyakit. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Pulau Ngenang, Kota Batam dengan edukasi metode kuantitatif kalibrasi bahan untuk produksi produk. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari Teripang laut (Holothuroidea) ditambahkan dengan bahan ramuan herbal seperti minyak kelapa murni, jahe, kunyit dan bahan lainnya dapat dijadikan sebagai minyak yang dapat menyembuhkan penyakit gatal-gatal, luka, nyeri sendi, keseleo, dan bisa digunakan sebagai minyak urut. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk Studi pembelajaran Pembuatan Minyak Gamat dari Teripang Laut (Holothuroidea) dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dosen dan mahasiswa dalam memproduksi minyak gamat serta membantu meningkatkan nilai ekonomi UMKM Masyarakat Pulau Ngenang.

Abstract

Efficient drug management necessitates a well-structured supply chain to ensure the smooth functioning of health services. The objective of this study is to ascertain the strategies employed for the disposal of expired medications and the handling of slow-moving pharmaceuticals at Hospital X in Batam City. This research is characterized as descriptive-observational, employing a retrospective methodology. Data analysis involves doing qualitative analysis to assess the degree of rationality, followed by quantitative analysis using a formula. The findings of this study indicate that the highest proportion of expired pharmaceuticals occurred in September 2021, accounting for 25.011%. Additionally, the Regional Public Service Agency (RPSA) allocated 17.020% of the budget expenditures, while the Regional Budget (RB) allocated 28.904%. The pharmaceuticals that have the highest expiration rate are injectable preparations, with a proportion of 63.340%. Among these, 41.299% are funded by RPSA, and 74.075% are funded by RB. The highest proportion of expired pharmaceuticals, categorized by therapeutic class, is 16.500% in the antibiotic group. In addition, RPSA allocates 6.729% of the budget funds and RB allocates 37.123% of the budget for this purpose. In the first quarter, there were 57 slow-moving medications, accounting for 84.594% of the budget money from RPSA and 15.406% from RB. The findings of this study indicate that the management of expired pharmaceuticals does not meet the research criterion of less than 1%; however, the management of slow-moving drugs aligns with the research criterion of less than 1%.

Abstract

Medication errors are defined as any preventable event that may cause or result in inappropriate medication use or patient harm when the medication is under the control of a healthcare professional, patient or consumer. Medication errors occur when weak medication systems and/or human factors such as fatigue, poor environmental conditions or understaffing affect prescribing, transcription, dispensing, administration and monitoring practices, which can then result in serious harm, disability and even death. The purpose of this study was to evaluate medication errors in outpatients at a private hospital in Batam City. This study is a cross-sectional study with a retrospective data collection technique from outpatient prescription data in January - March 2022 at a private hospital in Batam City. The sample calculation used the Slovin method with 225 samples. The results of the study stated that the incidence of medication errors at the prescribing stage was 58 (37.7%) unreadable prescriptions, 20 (13%) incorrect doses and 5 (3.2%) inappropriate indications, at the transcription stage there were 11 (7.1%) unexpected drug reaction errors, 34 (22%) errors due to drug interactions, at the dispensing stage there were 22 (14.3%) errors in prescribing dosage forms, 2 (1.3%) due to incorrect manufacturing and preparation and 1 (0.6%) due to incorrect administration of damaged drugs. At the administration stage there were 1 (0.6%) errors due to negligence in giving drugs to patients.

Abstract

The screening and education program on the prevention of degenerative diseases was conducted in the coastal community of Panjang Island, Batam. This initiative aimed to address the high prevalence of degenerative diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia through health screenings and community education. The study involved 55 participants, primarily pre-elderly individuals, and included examinations of blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and uric acid. The results revealed that 65.5% of participants had hypertension (34.5% with Stage 1 and 31% with Stage 2), while 69.1% had high cholesterol levels. Blood sugar screening indicated that 14.5% of participants had elevated glucose levels. Uric acid levels were high in 47.3% of participants, predominantly among women. Additionally, 78% of respondents with comorbidities presented abnormalities in at least one biochemical parameter. Educational sessions resulted in a 26.4% increase in knowledge about disease prevention and healthy lifestyles. The program highlighted the importance of regular health screenings, lifestyle modifications, and community empowerment for sustainable health improvements. Collaboration with local health centers and the establishment of health cadres are recommended for ongoing support and monitoring of degenerative disease prevention efforts.

Abstract

Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) is caused by pathogenic infections such as bacteria and fungi acquired outside the hospital, the main therapy given to pneumonia patients is antibiotics. The irrationality of antibiotics will lead to antibiotic resistance. This study aims to determine the description and evaluation of the appropriateness of antibiotic use in CAP patients in inpatient a government hospital Batam  period January 2023 to December 2023 using the PPAB 2021, IDSA 2019 and PDPI 2021 therapy guidelines. This research method is cross-sectional with a retrospective data collection technique using medical records, descriptive data analysis. The results of the study of 34 samples of the description of the use of antibiotics that were most often prescribed were Ceftriaxone at 35.28%. The results of the evaluation of accuracy based on the PPAB 2021, IDSA 2019 and PDPI 2021 guidelines obtained the correct type of antibiotic of 85.3%, the correct dose of 91.2%, the correct route and time of administration of 100% and the correct interval of administration of 82.4%.

Abstract

Wise use of antibiotics will prevent bacterial growth and reduce prolonged hospitalization. Actions to reduce the impact of antibiotic resistance can be carried out by evaluating antibiotics in terms of quantity and quality, quantitative evaluation using the (DDD) Defined Daily Dose method. The purpose of this study was to determine the general profile of antibiotic use quantitatively in hospitalized patients at a Riau Islands General Hospital in the trauma center ward. This study is observational non-experimental, data was taken retrospectively, from July to September 2023. Data analysis of this study used the quantitative method (ATC) Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification / (DDD) Defined Daily Dose with a sample size of 138 patient medical records that met the inclusion criteria. Based on the results of the study that has been carried out, there are 17 types of antibiotics with a total value of 46,876 DDD / 100 patient days. The three largest antibiotics were ceftriaxone 21,126 DDD/100 patient days, metronidazole 6,790 DDD/100 patient days, and levofloxacin 3,426 DDD/100 patient days. The most common route of administration was intravenous.

Abstract

The study entitled “Cream Formulation of Methanol Extract of Tapak Kuda (Ipomoea pes-caprae (L.) R. Br.) Leaves) As an anti-inflammatory in male white mice (Mus musculus)” using laboratory experimental methods with posttest control group design, data analysis using SPSS 25.0 with One Way ANOVA test and Duncan test. The percentage of extract yield obtained was 3.12%, phytochemical screening test showed the presence of secondary metabolite compounds alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and steroids. Cream preparation of methanol extract of Tapak Kuda leaves at concentrations of 2.5%, 5% and 10% showed anti-inflammatory activity and the maximum dose to reduce edema diameter was 10% concentration with a percentage inhibition of 87.97%. Data analysis with One Way ANOVA test with a significance value ≤ 0.05 which indicates the presence of anti-inflammatory activity in Ipomoea pes-caprae tread leaf methanol extract cream.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian reward terhadap kinerja karyawan di Rumah Sakit Bakti Timah Karimun Kepulauan Riau. Metode dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitik. Objek penelitian adalah 30 orang karyawan di Rumah Sakit Bakti Timah Karimun Kepulauan Riau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa reward memiliki pengaruh paling besar terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 0,384. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut bisa diambil kesimpulan bahwa pemberian reward memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan di Rumah Sakit Bakti Timah Karimun Kepulauan Riau.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian training terhadap kinerja karyawan di Rumah Sakit Bakti Timah Karimun Kepulauan Riau. Metode dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitik. Objek penelitian adalah 25 orang karyawan di Rumah Sakit Bakti Timah Karimun Kepulauan Riau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa training memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 0,349. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut bisa diambil kesimpulan bahwa pemberian training memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan di Rumah Sakit Bakti Timah Karimun Kepulauan Riau.

Abstract

Ketahanan keluarga merupakan fondasi penting dalam membangun masyarakat yang sehat, produktif, dan berdaya. Namun, keluarga rentan terhadap berbagai permasalahan, seperti penggunaan obat yang tidak rasional, stres berkepanjangan, serta rendahnya literasi keuangan. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu rumah tangga di Desa Pengudang, Kabupaten Bintan, mengenai tiga aspek utama: edukasi penggunaan obat yang benar, pengelolaan stres, dan keuangan syariah dalam rumah tangga. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 27 Mei 2025 dengan melibatkan 30 responden perempuan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, simulasi, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Karakteristik responden menunjukkan mayoritas berusia 36–45 tahun (43%) dan 97% berprofesi sebagai ibu rumah tangga. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan bahwa 40% peserta berada pada kategori pengetahuan sedang, 53% baik, dan hanya 7% sangat baik. Setelah edukasi, terjadi peningkatan signifikan: 53% responden mencapai kategori sangat baik dan 47% berada pada kategori baik, tanpa peserta yang tersisa dalam kategori sedang. Rata-rata skor pengetahuan meningkat dari 60 menjadi 76. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan edukasi terpadu yang menggabungkan aspek kesehatan fisik, psikologis, dan ekonomi sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi masyarakat. Intervensi ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam memberdayakan keluarga untuk menjadi lebih tangguh, sehat, dan mandiri
