Abstract

The use of instructional media is one of the teacher's efforts to create maximum teaching and learning processes. Research on the use of integrated audio media Ya Lal Wathan in this study was carried out because the media used were new and had never been used by previous studies. This study aims to compare the effect of Ya Lal Wathan's integrated audio media and power point media on the cognitive abilities of high school students on Kingdom Plantae material. The study design used the Non-equivalent Control Group Design using a purposive sampling technique. We took all of students in MAN 1 Semarang as population and 2 classes as sample. The instruments used were 20 pre-test questions and 20 post-test questions given in power point and integrated audio class. Data were analyzed by Sign Test. The result of the study showed that there was an equally significant effect between two classes. However, students taught by integrated audio got an average grade in the post-test that is higher than the control class so there is a positive tendency that integrated audio media with Ya Lal Wathan is good for application in learning. It is necessary to innovate our audio media for further research.

Abstract

The difference of environmental condition makes the change of anatomical structure related to its growth. This phenomenon gives an information about maize’s adaptation. The aims of the research was to evaluate anatomical response of maize in different light and water treatment. This research used Randomized Completed Design with 3 regimes of light intensity ( L1 (63694); L2 (11408); L3(3897) Lux) and 3 regimes of watering (2 L/ 1,6 L/ and 1,2 L). Each combination was done with 3 replications. Maize was harvested in 75 days after treatment and the parts of plant including leaf, stem, and root were preserved using paraffin embedding method. The measured anatomical responses were leaf thickness; stomatal indeks; root and stem tracheal diameter. Data were analyzed by Anava and DMRT test with significance level of 5%. The results showed that the light intensity L1(63694 Lux) and watering W1(2 L) caused thicker leaf, the larger stomatal index and root’s tracheal diameter. The leaf thickness was 368,67 µm, stomatal index was 31,37 %, and root’s tracheal diameter was 176,10 µm in L1W1 treatment showing the value was the largest and different significantly than the other treatments. While, the stem’s tracheal diameter was not significant because the stem was the last part of plant affected by the treatment. Keywords : maize, Sweet Boy-02, anatomical response, adaptation.

Abstract

Traditional medicine is the local wisdom of the Indonesian people. The people of the Jaya Sakti area of Central Lampung use saliva as a medicine to heal minor wounds. This study aims to determine the potential use of saliva in healing minor wounds. This study uses the method of observing the community. The results showed that based on the percentage of data from field observations related to the use of saliva for minor injuries in communities around Jayasakti village, Anak Tuha District, Central Lampung Regency, it is known that most people have used saliva to treat minor wounds, while other communities have never used it. or seeing other people use saliva as a remedy for minor wounds. Based on the literature review, the content contained in saliva, especially histatin, plays a major role in improving wound healing by increasing the revitalization phase, especially through increasing keratinocyte migration and proliferation. Besides, people use saliva as a medicine to heal minor wounds because they follow the habits of people who have been passed down from generation to generation and already know the content of saliva that can heal minor wounds, namely histatin and alkaline acids. In conclusion, saliva is effective to use as a wound-healing drug because of the compounds contained in saliva and people's experiences when using it.

Abstract

Agriculture in a time of climate change is very wary of various countries in the world because it can threaten food security. Indonesia faces this problem based on data and reported news. This paper aims to provide some information about the potential threats of climate change towards crop production in Indonesia to initiate innovations that can be done to maximize crop production amid climate change. We compile this literature review to develop thoughts related to adaptation strategies undertaken to maximize the productivity of food crops under climate change, especially in Indonesia. Several studies that were reviewed showed that there was a decrease in food crop production due to factors in the environment that were changing because of climate change. Therefore, the provided strategy is an example that can be applied and developed to maintain national food productivity. Continued research is needed to provide other plans that are integrated with existing strategies.

Abstract

Morphological characters are important characters in determining plant relationships. This study aims to analyze the phenetic relationship of the 7 member of Asteraceae family based on morphological characters. The study was conducted in May – July 2022. We used 7 species of Asteraceae including Ageratum conyzoides L., Ageratum houstonianum Mill, Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A.Gray., Sonchus arvensis L., Erechtites valerianifolia (Link ex Spreng.) DC., Eupatorium odoratum L., and Tagetes erecta L. The equipment used were cameras, plant description books, and NTSYS software for taxonomic affinity analysis were used in this study. The results of the Asteraceae dendogram analysis showed that 2 clusters were formed, the first cluster containing the species Ageratum conyzoides L., Ageratum houstonianum Mill, Tagetes erecta L., Sonchus arvensis L., and Erechtites valerianifolia (Link ex Spreng.) DC., while the second cluster consisted of Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) and Eupatorium odoratum L. The closest similarity coefficient of 0.8 was in the genus Ageratus in the first cluster and Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) and Eupatorium odoratum L., in the second cluster. Based on this, it can be concluded that the morphological characters that influence the clustering of 7 species Asteraceae in this study are flower type, flower color, leaf base, leaf venation, leaf margin, and leaf color.
