Abstract

Sexual education for children, especially girls, is an important aspect in efforts to protect themselves from social risks such as harassment, violence, and exploitation. This article aims to examine the urgency of integrating sexual education into the basic education system as a strategic preventive measure. The method used is library research by reviewing various scientific literature, reference books, and education policy documents. The results of the study show that many parents still have a wrong understanding of sexual education, so discussions about the body, privacy, and social boundaries are often avoided. In fact, sexual education that is delivered appropriately according to the stages of child development can increase self-awareness, build self-confidence, and strengthen children's communication skills in dealing with risky social situations. Schools have a strategic role as a safe and conducive educational environment in introducing the concept of sexuality in a healthy and responsible manner. Therefore, sexual education should be an integral part of the national curriculum in order to support optimal child growth and development and protect them from various forms of violence.

Abstract

Character education plays a crucial role in creating a generation with integrity amidst the rapid pace of global progress. In the era of globalization, the swift changes in social and technological landscapes demand individuals to possess strong character traits, such as integrity, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance, to effectively navigate various moral and social challenges. However, the weak implementation of character values within the education system often leads to an integrity crisis among the youth. This article aims to explore the importance of character education as a fundamental pillar in developing a generation capable of making positive contributions to the global society. The research method used in this study is a literature review, which includes analyzing various theories and studies on character education, as well as the critical roles of families, schools, and communities in the character development process. The analysis reveals that effectively integrated character education can shape individuals who are more responsible, ethical, and empathetic, ultimately strengthening social cohesion and enhancing national competitiveness. Character education not only improves cognitive aspects but also shapes consistent attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, character education should be a primary focus within the educational system, aiming to develop a generation that is not only intellectually smart but also morally upright, enabling them to face global challenges with strong integrity. Keywords: Character education, integrity, globalization.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic triggered a sudden and massive shift from face-to-face (offline) learning to online learning across all levels of education, including elementary schools. This article aims to analyze the transformation process, identify the challenges faced, and examine adaptive strategies implemented by educators during and after the pandemic. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, the study reveals several key issues such as unequal access to technology, limited digital competence among teachers, and the crucial role of parental support at the elementary level. It also explores how blended learning and creative media usage emerged as practical solutions. The findings highlight the need for sustainable digital education models that are inclusive, adaptive, and supportive of students' developmental needs in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the implementation of teaching and learning activities underwent significant changes. Schools that usually conducted face-to face learning had to switch to online learning. However, online learning did not always run smoothly; many challenges emerged, particularly in terms of access to technology such as mobile phones, laptops, and stable internet connections. In addition, not all parents were able to accompany their children in learning from home due to busy schedules or limited knowledge. This situation made it difficult for students to understand the material delivered by teachers online. The home learning environment was also very different often unconducive and lacking direct interaction which led many students to feel confused and unmotivated. These challenges made the learning process during the pandemic less effective and required all parties to find solutions so that education could continue to run well, even when conducted online.

Abstract

The national curriculum is designed to support the development of students' character education. This is reflected in the integration between subjects and educational levels, as well as attention to the three main domains: attitude (affective), knowledge (cognitive), and skills (psychomotor). The main goal of this curriculum is to shape Indonesian individuals who are faithful, capable of living independently and socially, and who are productive, creative, innovative, and of noble character. The curriculum also encourages students to contribute actively to social life, the nation, and global civilization. Character values are instilled through the development of two main attitudes: spiritual attitude, which refers to practicing one's religious beliefs, and social attitude, which includes honesty, discipline, responsibility, politeness, environmental awareness, and self-confidence in interacting with others.

Abstract

The 21st century is marked by rapid technological developments, increasingly open global access, and increasing complexity in social life. This requires significant changes in the education system, especially in terms of the role and competence of teachers. Therefore, teachers are required to be able to adapt to the times, including in terms of the use of technology that continues to develop. In this era, teachers need to master technology well, for example by creating ICT-based learning media, utilizing learning applications, and various other forms of innovation. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. This article emphasizes that to face the challenges of education in the 21st century, teachers are not enough to only act as conveyors of material. Teachers must also be able to be facilitators, guides, and innovators in the teaching and learning process. With this broader role, teachers are expected to be able to improve the quality of basic education and respond to the needs of the times effectively.
