Abstract

Radiasi UV dari sinar matahari dapat merusak kekuatan dan kesehatan kulit. Perlindungan kulit dari radiasi UV, salah satunya dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan tabir surya. Tabir surya sintetis diketahui memiliki beberapa resiko. Ekstrak tumbuhan yang mengandung senyawa fenolik diketahui dapat berfungsi sebagai alternatif penggunaan bahan sintetis dalam sediaan tabir surya. Penggunaan jenis pelarut yang berbeda dapat menghasilkan konsentrasi dan komposisi senyawa bioaktif yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar fenolik total dan nilai SPF dari fraksi n-heksan daun jengkol (Pithecellobium lobatum). Ekstraksi dilakukan melalui metode maserasi dengan etanol 96%, lalu difraksinasi menggunakan corong pisah dengan pelarut n-heksan. Kadar fenolik total ditentukan dengan metode Folin-Ciocelteu pada panjang gelombang maksimum 732,45 dan penentuan nilai SPF pada range panjang gelombang 290-320 nm menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Hasil menunjukkan kadar fenolik total sebesar 113,96 ± 2,35 mg/g EAG dan nilai SPF pada konsentrasi 140 ppm sebesar 1,820 ± 0,039.

Abstract

South Kalimantan has a unique topography that includes tidal areas and swamps, and peatlands. One of the natural resources that grows well in this area is the galam tree (Melaleuca cajuputi). Traditionally, this plant has been used to treat various inflammatory conditions, such as intestinal inflammation, sore throat, itchy skin, and rheumatism. M. cajuputi contains flavonoid compounds that are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties. This study aimed to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extracts and n-hexane fractions of M. cajuputi leaves from South Kalimantan using a protein denaturation inhibition method with IC50 values as the parameter. Sodium diclofenac was used as the positive control in this study. The results of the anti-inflammatory activity test showed that the IC50 values for sodium diclofenac, ethanol extract, and n-hexane fraction of M. cajuputi leaves were 14.948; 51.577; and 61.700 ppm, respectively. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the IC50 value of sodium diclofenac and those of the ethanol extract and n-hexane fraction. Based on the study conducted, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract and n-hexane fraction have anti-inflammatory activity, although their potency is lower than that of sodium diclofenac

Abstract

Kuersetin dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif bahan aktif anti jerawat danpencegah penuaan dini karena dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri penyebab jerawat Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Propionibacterium acnes dan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan pada konsentrasi 0,05%. Masker wajah peel off adalah salah satu jenis masker wajah yang memiliki keunggulan dalam penggunaannya yaitu mudah diangkat atau dilepaskan seperti membran elastis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh penambahan variasi konsentrasi gelatin dan gliserin terhadap sifat fisika dan kimia masker wajah peel off kuersetin. Variasi konsentrasi gelatin yang digunakan adalah10%, 15% dan 20%, variasi konsentrasi gliserin yang digunakan adalah 2%, 6% dan 12%. Evaluasi sediaan masker wajahpeel off kuersetin meliputi karakteristik organoleptis (warna, konsistensi, bau), waktu mengering, viskositas, pH, homogenitas, daya sebar dan daya lekat. Data  hasil evaluasi sediaan masker wajah peel off  kuersetin dianalisis dengan program Design Expert 8.0.7. dengan desain faktorial dan Kruskal Wallis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa variasi konsentrasi gelatin dan gliserin secara signifikan mempengaruhi organoleptis, waktu mengering, homogenitas, viskositas, daya lekat dan daya sebar sediaan (p<0,05), variasi konsentrasi gelatin dan gliserin secara signifikan tidak mempengaruhi pH dari sediaan (p>0,05).

Abstract

Kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris) herb is a typical South Kalimantan plant containing bioactive substances that can serve as antioxidants. It can be formulated into nanoemulsions to increase bioavailability in the skin. This study aimed to determine the ratio of pine oil and Smix (tween 80 and glycerin) as the optimal base for nanoemulsion based on the highest percent transmittance and to determine the physical characteristics of the S. palustris herb extract nanoemulsion with variations in the amount of extract. Bases of nanoemulsion formula were optimized using a ternary phase diagram and D-Optimal Mixture Design. Nanoemulsion contained three extract concentrations: 0.1; 0.25; and 0.5%, respectively, and nanoemulsion was tested for physical characteristics. The results of this study were a light yellow to light brown, clear, and transparent, with a characteristic weak-strong odor, forming an O/W nanoemulsion. Increasing the concentration of the extract significantly increased the viscosity and decreased the pH and percent transmittance. This study concluded that variations in extract concentration affected the percent transmittance, organoleptic, pH, viscosity, and the optimal ratio of nanoemulsion components was 1% pine oil, 9% Smix, and 90% water.

Abstract

The traditions of balulur and batimung are still carried out today. One of the production places for cucumber scrub in the city of Banjarmasin is Ipah Zein MSME. The cucumber scrub product by Ipah Zein MSME is a concoction that has been passed down from generation to generation and has been producing cucumber scrub for three generations. During these three generations, the making of scrub and timung was still done traditionally. The quality of this product needs to be improved so that it can still be marketed. The implementation of this service aims to improve the quality dimensions of Ipah Zein MSME timung scrub products, both product quality and packaging quality. Activities will be carried out from April to December 2021 at the Ipah Zein timung scrub production house. The method used begins with preparation, then implementation of activities and evaluation of activities. Activities that have been carried out include modernizing equipment in the production process, assisting production according to Good Cosmetic Manufacturing Practices, mechanizing packaging equipment and improving traditional cosmetic packaging designs. The results show that the service activities have been carried out well, where there has been an increase in the quality of Ipah Zein MSME timung scrub products, both product quality and packaging quality. Service partners have been equipped with knowledge about Good Cosmetic Manufacturing Practices, given equipment that supports this and the product has a more attractive design and is more acceptable to the marketKeywords: scrubs, timung, quality Tradisi balulur dan batimung masih dilakukan sampai saat ini. Salah satu tempat produksi lulur timung di kota Banjarmasin adalah UMKM Ipah Zein. Produk lulur timung oleh UMKM Ipah Zein adalah ramuan warisan turun menurun dan sudah memproduksi lulur timung selama tiga generasi. Selama tiga generasi tersebut, pembuatan lulur dan timung masih dikerjakan secara tradisional. Produk ini perlu ditingkatkan kualitasnya agar tetap dapat dipasarkan. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dimensi kualitas produk lulur timung UMKM Ipah Zein, baik mutu produk maupun mutu kemasan. Kegiatan dilakukan pada bulan April sampai Desember tahun 2021 di rumah produksi lulur timung Ipah Zein. Metode yang dilakukan diawali dengan persiapan kemudian pelaksanaan kegiatan dan evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan yang telah terlaksana meliputi modernisasi peralatan pada proses produksi, pendampingan produksi sesuai Cara Pembuatan Kosmetik yang Baik (CPKB), mekanisasi alat pengemas dan peningkatan desain kemasan kosmetika tradisional. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian telah terlaksana dengan baik dimana terjadi peningkatan kualitas produk lulur timung UMKM Ipah Zein, baik mutu produk maupun mutu kemasan. Mitra pengabdian telah dibekali pengetahuan mengenai CPKB, diberikan peralatan yang menunjang hal tersebut dan produk telah memiliki desain yang lebih menarik dan lebih dapat diterima pasar.Kata Kunci: lulur, timung, kualitas
