Abstract

Kuersetin dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif bahan aktif anti jerawat danpencegah penuaan dini karena dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri penyebab jerawat Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Propionibacterium acnes dan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan pada konsentrasi 0,05%. Masker wajah peel off adalah salah satu jenis masker wajah yang memiliki keunggulan dalam penggunaannya yaitu mudah diangkat atau dilepaskan seperti membran elastis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh penambahan variasi konsentrasi gelatin dan gliserin terhadap sifat fisika dan kimia masker wajah peel off kuersetin. Variasi konsentrasi gelatin yang digunakan adalah10%, 15% dan 20%, variasi konsentrasi gliserin yang digunakan adalah 2%, 6% dan 12%. Evaluasi sediaan masker wajahpeel off kuersetin meliputi karakteristik organoleptis (warna, konsistensi, bau), waktu mengering, viskositas, pH, homogenitas, daya sebar dan daya lekat. Data  hasil evaluasi sediaan masker wajah peel off  kuersetin dianalisis dengan program Design Expert 8.0.7. dengan desain faktorial dan Kruskal Wallis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa variasi konsentrasi gelatin dan gliserin secara signifikan mempengaruhi organoleptis, waktu mengering, homogenitas, viskositas, daya lekat dan daya sebar sediaan (p<0,05), variasi konsentrasi gelatin dan gliserin secara signifikan tidak mempengaruhi pH dari sediaan (p>0,05). Kata Kunci: Masker wajah peel off, kuersetin, gelatin, gliserin

Abstract

Nymphaea pubescens Willd telah diketahui mempunyai efek antibakteri, terutama pada biji dan daunnya. Tetapi sampai saat ini bagian bunga dari tanaman tersebut belum dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk melakukan skrining fitokimia, uji aktivitas antibakteri dan penentuan konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) dari ekstrak metanol bunga N. pubescens terhadap S. aureus dan E. coli. Proses ekstraksi bunga N. pubescens dimaserasi menggunakan pelarut metanol dengan perbandingan 1: 4 b/v. Metode pengujian yang digunakan ada dua yaitu metode difusi untuk pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dan metode dilusi untuk pengukuran konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM). Hasil skrining fitokimia didapatkan bahwa ekstrak metanol bunga N. pubescens mengandung senyawa golongan fenolik, saponin dan flavonoid. Hasil pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol bunga N.pubescens mampu menghambat S. aureus (diameter hambat 10 ± 0,29 mm) dan E.coli (diameter hambat 10,2 ± 0,50 mm). Konsentrasi hambat minimum dari ekstrak metanol bunga N. pubescens terhadap S.aureus sebesar 12,5% dan terhadap E.coli sebesar 25%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak metanol bunga N. pubescens memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Nymphaea pubescens Willd has known to have antibacterial effects, especially on the seeds and leaves. However, until now the flower of the plant has not been tested for antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to perform phytochemical screening, antibacterial activity test and determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the methanol extract of N. pubescens flowers against S. aureus and E. coli. The process of extracting N. pubescens flowers is macerated using methanol as a solvent with a ratio of 1: 4 w / v. There are two test methods used, namely the diffusion method for testing antibacterial activity and the dilution method for measuring the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). The results of phytochemical screening showed that the methanol extract of N. pubescens flowers contained phenolic compounds, saponins, and flavonoids. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that the methanol extract of N.pubescens flowers was able to inhibit S. aureus (inhibition diameter 10 ± 0.29 mm) and E. coli (inhibitory diameter 10.2 ± 0.50 mm). The minimum inhibitory concentration of the methanol extract of N. pubescens flowers against S.aureus was 12.5% and against E. coli was 25%. Abstract

One of natural ingredients that has potential as herbal medicines is the leaves of agarwood-producing plants.  Opportunities for the development of agarwood-producing plants (Aquilaria microcrocarpa Baill.) as medicinal plants are still wide open. Ethanol extract of Aquilaria microcarpa Baill folium extract was made in the form of syrup preparations to facilitate use. This study aimed to formulate Gaharu folium extract into syrup preparations. The syrup preparations were made into 3 formulas with variations in the concentration of sorbitol as a sweetener, namely 60%; 63% and 65%. The three formulas were then evaluated including organoleptic test, viscosity test, pH test, homogeneity test and specific gravity test. The hedonic test was also carried out to determine which formula was the most preferred. The evaluation results showed that all syrup formulas met a good range of syrup requirements. From the results of the analysis of the preference test data, it could be concluded that all formulas had a level of acceptance that was not significantly different, but formula 2 had the highest total hedonic score compared to other formulas. Formula 2 also had the appropriate pH, viscosity and specific gravity as a syrup.

Abstract

UKM Shines shoes merupakan salah satu UKM yang bergerak di bidang jasa laundry sepatu di Kota Banjarbaru. Jasa laundry sepatu yang dijalankan oleh suatu UKM (Usaha Kecil Menengah) termasuk usaha yang cukup berkembang, seiring dengan kebutuhan masyarakat untuk merawat sepatunya. Proses pembersihan pada UKM ini masih secara manual dan menjadi kendala untuk UKM dikarenakan waktu pengerjaan yang tidak efisien. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efektifitas dan efisiensi pencucian sepatu di usaha jasa laundry UKM Shine Shoes melalui mekanisasi peralatan pembersihan. Kegiatan diawali dengan persiapan kegiatan, penyerahan alat dan evaluasi atau pengamatan hasil. Setelah kegiatan pendampingan dan mekanisasi peralatan terdapat peningkatan efisiensi dan efektivitas pembersihan dibandingkan secara manual. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan daya jual produk jasa yang ditawarkan kepada konsumen sehingga diharapkan meningkatkan omzet mitra.Kata Kunci: Laundry, Sepatu, MekanisasiShines shoes is one of the service industries engaged in shoe laundry services in Banjarbaru City. Shoe laundry services run by small enterprises are a growing business, along with the need for people to take care of their shoes. The cleaning process in this SME was still manual and becomes an obstacle for SMEs due to inefficient processing time. This activity aimed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of shoe washing in the laundry service business of UKM Shine Shoes through mechanization of cleaning equipment. The activity begun with the preparation of activities, delivered of tools and evaluation or observation of results. After the mentoring and equipment mechanization activities, there was an increase in the efficiency and effectiveness of cleaning compared to manually. This can increase the marketability of service products offered to consumers so that it is expected to increase partner turnover.

Abstract

Bajakah kalalawit (Uncaria cordata (Lour) Merr.) is widely used by Dayak Tribes, based on empirical evidence, and often used to treat diabetes and various diseases such as cancer. This research aimed to determine the total flavonoid content and antioxidant activity of the ethanolic extract of U. cordata stems. The sample used bajakah kalalawit from Loklahung village, Loksado District, South Hulu Sungai Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Flavonoid levels were determined using quercetin standards, 10% AlCl3 reagent, and 5% acetic acid, then measured at a wavelength of 416 nm, while the antioxidant activity using DPPH 0.4 mM in UV-Vis spectroscopy at a wavelength of 516 nm. The results obtained were a thick extract mass with a dark brown color and a distinctive aroma. The total flavonoid content of the ethanol extract of U. cordata stems was found to be 3.6 ± 0.086 % w/w equivalent quercetin and showed very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 9.159 ppm.

Abstract

Belimbing wuluh leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) contain flavonoids, saponins, and tannins that can be used as antibacterials in acne treatments. Acne treatment requires good delivery so that it can penetrate into the epidermis. A preparation that can deliver active substances directly into the epidermis is a microneedle patch (MN) preparation. This study aimed to formulate a microneedle acne patch of ethanol extract of A. bilimbi leaves. A. bilimbi leaves were extracted using maceration method. MN preparation base was optimized using different base combinations namely Na-CMC:PVA, HPMC: PVA and PVP:PVA until the ideal MN base was obtained. The MN preparations obtained were tested for physico-chemical properties which included macroscopic tests, weight uniformity, drying shrinkage, pH, folding power and moisture absorption. MN optimization results showed that the combination of PVP and PVA formed a flexible MN base and needle. Formulation was then continued by varying the concentration of extracts in the MN. The results of the physical and chemical properties test of the MN preparation formula showed flexible characteristics, homogeneous and no bubbles in MN, yellow to blackish green in color, weights ranging from 0,063-0,163 g, drying shrinkage of 3.349-4.513%, pH in the range of 5.61-7.15, folding power >300x, and moisture absorption of 6.472%-8.33%. The conclusion of the study showed that the MN preparation formulas of A. bilimbi extract, namely F1, F2, F3 and F4 meet the requirements of good physico-chemical MN preparations.

Abstract

Exposure to UV rays can cause several skin problems, such as redness, sunburn, erythema, and ageing. The dangerous effects of UV radiation require more protection of the skin, such as sunscreen. Jengkol leaves (Pithecellobium lobatum Benth.) are a plant that contains phenolic compounds that can absorb UV radiation, so they can act as sunscreens. This study aimed to determine the activity of sunscreen using in vitro methods in the ethanol extract of P. lobatum leaves based on the sun protection factor (SPF),% transmission of erythema (% Te), % transmission of pigmentation (% Tp) and its total phenolic content by UV-vis spectrophotometry. The best sunscreen activity of the ethanolic extract of P. lobatum leaves was at a concentration of 400 ppm with an SPF value of 28.29 ± 0.034 (ultra), % Te and % Tp were included in the sunblock category. The total phenolic content of the ethanolic extract of the leaves of P. lobatum was 394.45 ± 6.40 mg of gallic acid equivalent per gram extract (mg GAE/g extract). The ethanolic extract of the Pithecellobium lobatum leaves has great potential as a sunscreen product.

Abstract

Penyakit Tidak menular (PTM) menjadi permasalahan global yang membutuhkan perhatian serius, karena menyebabkan kasus kematian terbanyak di dunia (74%). Pelayanan kesehatan dasar  pada Penyakit Tidak Menular (PTM) di Puskesmas Landasan Ulin masih ada yang belum mencapai target yang diharapkan, Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pemberdayaan kader posyandu di wilayah Puskesmas Landasan Ulin melalui pembuatan paket edukasi dan sosialisasi tentang PTM, melakukan deteksi dini dan upaya promosi kesehatan terkait PTM kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi kepada kader dan peserta posyandu, pelatihan dan penerapan teknologi dilakukan kepada kader posyandu tentang penggunaan alat cek kadar glukosa, kolesterol dan asam urat yang digunakan untuk deteksi dini PTM serta interpretasi dari hasil tes yang diperoleh kemudian dievaluasi dengan hasil pretest dan postest. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, terjadi peningkatan skor rata-rata dari kader dan peserta. Hasil skor rata-rata kader posyandu saat pretest sebesar 7,88 meningkat menjadi 8,6 pada skor rata-rata postest, sedangkan hasil skor rata-rata peserta posyandu saat pretest sebesar 7,2 meningkat menjadi 7,9 pada skor rata-rata postest. Peningkatan yang terjadi tidak terlalu signifikan (8 % untuk kader dan 7 % untuk peserta), hal ini mungkin dikarenakan pengetahuan dasar baik kader maupun peserta sudah cukup baik sebelum diberikan sosialisasi. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, Diabetes Miletus, Faktor Resiko, Pelatihan  Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a global problem that requires serious attention. This NCDs has become the cause of most deaths in the world, namely 74%. Landasan Ulin Community Health Center has a population of 77,982 people. In basic health services for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), there are still some that have not reached the expected target. This community service activity aims to empower posyandu cadres in the Landasan Ulin Community Health Center area through creating educational packages and outreach about NCDs, carrying out early detection and efforts health promotion related to NCDs to the community. Activities include outreach to posyandu cadres and participants, training and application of technology to posyandu cadres regarding the use of tools to check glucose, cholesterol and uric acid levels which are used for early detection of NCDs as well as interpretation of the test results obtained which are then evaluated with pretest and posttest results. Based on the evaluation results, there was an increase in the average score of cadres and participants. The average score of posyandu cadres during the pretest was 7.88, increasing to 8.6 in the average score of the posttest, while the average score of posyandu participants during the pretest was 7.2, increasing to 7.9 in the average score of the posttest. The increase that occurred was not very significant (8% for cadres and 7% for participants), this may be because the basic knowledge of both cadres and participants was quite good before being given socialization and education.

Abstract

Acne is often accompanied by inflammation and triggers antibacterial activity such as S. Epidermidis. A. Bilimbi folium are known to inhibit the growth of S. Epidermidis. Microneedle (MN) is a preparation with small needles measuring 50-900 μm that can be applied to deliver active ingredients for acne treatment. The effect of concentration of A. Bilimbi MN acne patch leaf extract can cause changes in antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration of ethanol extract of A. Bilimbi folium on MN acne patch preparation on the inhibition of S. Epidermidis. The research was conducted by making 5 MN formulas with different extract concentrations and then testing the antibacterial activity with agar diffusion method. The negative control used was the formula without extracts while the positive control used chloramphenicol and acne patch preparation on the market. The results showed the clear zone of F1 (1%), F2 (5%), F3 (10%), F4 (15%), F5 (20%) of 1.86±0.485 mm; 3.15±0.556 mm; 5±0.526 mm; 8.25±0.687 mm; 9.43±0.809 mm, respectively. The conclusion of this study is that there was an effect of the concentration of ethanol extract of A. Bilimbi folium in the preparation of microneedle acne patches on the antibacterial activity of S. Epidermidis.
