Abstract

The value of the company is important, the higher the investment rate, the better the value received by the Bank. For example, in banking companies, interest rates can influence people to save funds. Thus, the selected bank will be trusted by customers and investors to increase. Financial distress at the Bank will affect the value of the company, judging by the ability to pay its obligations smoothly. The current phase of financial distress is triggered by the Covid-19 Pandemic. The financial sector, particularly banking, is in the public's spotlight in mitigating the possibility of the worst happening. Banking assessments can also be accepted from KAP assessments based on the banking financial statements themselves. The research that will be used is the quantitative associative approach, which is to describe systematically, the accuracy of facts, and characteristics regarding the effect of interest rates, financial distress and KAP reputation on firm value. The data in this study were obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, namely www.idx.com as well as several official banking websites from 2018 to 2021. The conclusion of the study based on EViews 9 with sample data of 20 banking companies concluded that empirically the interest rate has an insignificant effect on firm value. Empirical research on financial distress and KAP reputation has a significant influence on the company. Simultaneously, it is proven empirically that interest rates, financial distress, and KAP reputation have a significant effect on firm value.

Abstract

Sustainability reporting is considered as one of the strategic tools for companies in order to demonstrate their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities. In the banking sector, sustainability reports play an important role in complying with regulations and increasing transparency to stakeholders. The aim of this study is to analyze the completeness of sustainability report disclosures based on the 2021 Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and compare the level of disclosure between banks based on the 2023 Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT). The study used a content analysis method with a sample of seven banks from various categories of Bank Groups Based on Core Capital (KBMI). The results of the study show that all banks have followed the 2021 GRI standards, although there are variations in the completeness of disclosures on economic, environmental, and social aspects. In addition, banks with a Platinum rating have better disclosures than those with a Gold rating; especially, on the GRI standards for the financial services sector. This study provides a contribution in the form of policy suggestions for the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in order to improve supervision of sustainability reporting and align with international standards. Meanwhile, for banks, it is important to strengthen disclosures on material topics; such as, anti-competitive behavior and tax transparency, to improve the quality of reports and build stakeholder trust.

Abstract

In the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, greenwashing has become a widely discussed phenomenon. This industry is closely connected to consumers because its products are used daily, ranging from food and beverages to personal care items. Furthermore, corporate financial performance has become a central concern for both shareholders and stakeholders. Corporate performance often focuses primarily on commercial objectives while neglecting ecological and social aspects. This study aims to analyze the effect of greenwashing on corporate performance, evaluate the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors on corporate performance, and examine the role of ESG as a moderating variable in the relationship between greenwashing and corporate performance. The study population consists of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. The population in this study consisted of 57 companies, and the sample included 14 companies over a five-year period, resulting in a total of 70 observations. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with EViews. The results show that greenwashing has a negative effect on corporate performance, ESG has a positive effect on corporate performance, and ESG significantly moderates the relationship between greenwashing and corporate performance. This research provides theoretical contributions to the sustainability literature as well as practical implications for companies, investors, and regulators in enhancing information transparency and ESG implementation.
