Abstract

Abstract

This study discusses the ethics of debate in the perspective of hadith by examining the thoughts of Abu Laith al-Samarqandiy in the book Bustān al-ʿĀrifīn. The background of this study focuses on the phenomenon of debate that often leads to hostility and division in society, especially when the debate aims to humiliate, dominate, or seek recognition. Abu Laith al-Samarqandiy emphasized that this attitude deviates from Islamic ethics that promotes unity and prevents stubbornness in arguing. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive method with text analysis to understand the ethical principles of debate in the view of hadith and al-Samarqandiy's thought. The results of the study show that debates aimed at maintaining the ego and bringing down the opponent are reprehensible behavior and even sinful if it results in interference for others. Islam requires a Muslim to avoid debate, even when on the right side, in order to maintain peace and harmony in the community.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed economic transaction systems, including the widespread use of non-cash payment methods such as e-wallets, mobile banking, and QR codes. This article aims to examine the phenomenon of non-cash transactions from the perspective of the Prophet Muhammad’s hadiths, focusing on the integration between digital innovation and Islamic legal principles. The study employs a qualitative method with a thematic approach to hadiths related to justice, honesty, the prohibition of gharar (ambiguity), riba (usury), and trustworthiness in financial dealings. The findings reveal that although non-cash transactions are not explicitly addressed in classical hadith literature, the ethical values contained in the hadiths provide a normative framework relevant to assessing the legitimacy and appropriateness of modern digital financial systems. When understood contextually, non-cash transactions can be accepted in Islam as long as they uphold transparency, fairness, and avoid prohibited elements. This article underscores the importance of applying the maq??id al-shar?‘ah approach to evaluating modern economic innovations in order to maintain harmony between technological development and Islamic values.

Abstract

Currently, more and more people believe in the power of the environment and nature, including the sun, the mountain atmosphere, and ancestral spirits. The purpose of this study is to examine the values, symbolic meanings, history, and implementation process of the Genduren tradition. Examining the relationship between the concept of living traditions and the social and spiritual benefits felt by the community from customs is also another objective of this study. This research uses qualitative and ethnographic methodologies. George Herbert Mead refers to symbolic interactionism as social interaction facilitated by symbols. The meaning of symbols can shape social interaction. An example of symbolic interactionism theory in everyday life is when a waiter sells various items in a store. Blitar, East Java, illustrates how symbols represent certain values that are highly valued by the community. In addition, this interaction leads to new habits or habits that are carried out regularly with the same purpose. The author concludes the research problem formulation by observing passive participation and asking for opinions from several informants who deeply understand the genduren tradition. Abstract

Patience is a fundamental value in Islamic teachings that is reflected in many traditions of the Prophet Muhammad. However, how Muslim adolescents interpret patience in the context of daily life is an interesting issue to be studied in more depth. This article aims to build a theoretical understanding of the construction of the meaning of patience in the lives of Muslim adolescents through Kathy Charmaz's constructivist Grounded Theory approach, combined with an analysis of the hadiths related to patience. This study was conducted by examining the real experiences of Muslim adolescents in various social and spiritual contexts, such as academic pressure, emotional conflicts, and the search for Islamic identity. Data were collected through contextual literature review, phenomenological observation in digital social spaces and Islamic communities, as well as reflection on daily narratives spread in social media and the work of Muslim teenagers. All findings were analyzed using the principles of open coding and theoretical coding typical of Grounded Theory. The results show that patience is not only understood as a passive attitude of restraint, but is interpreted as an active struggle in maintaining values, strengthening faith, and building resilience. This understanding is shaped by the interaction between the hadith teachings, the collective experiences of adolescents, and the values that develop in their social environment. This article emphasizes the importance of a contextual approach in understanding Islamic values that live in the reality of adolescents, and encourages the development of character education based on spirituality and culture of the younger generation.

Abstract

Abstract

This article wants to prove that not all the opinions of friends contained in the ḥadīth mawqūf are a compulsory hujjah that must be followed by Muslims afterwards. This is related to the call that arose from some Islamic groups to restore and limit the meaning of the Qur’an and the Prophet’s only in the understanding of generations of friends so that they do not justify the existence of ijtihād on the friend’s ijtihād. This type of research used in this article is library research, namely by inventorying some thoughts about the Hadith Mawquf from the ulama, especially muḥaddithīn because the study of the mawqūf ḥadīth is more deeply discussed in the ḥadīth discipline.
