Abstract

The research aims to evaluate the effect of adding green spinach extract to broiler chicken sausages in terms of organoleptic properties, namely color and taste. The research used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with a 4 x 5 unidirectional pattern. The treatments given bijau spinach extract were: P0: 750 g meat without green spinach extract + 200 g flour; P1: 750 grams of meat + 35 ml green spinach extract + 200 g flour; P2: 750 grams of meat + 45 ml green spinach extract + 200 g flour; and P3: 750 grams of meat + 55 ml green spinach extract + 200 g flour. The results showed that the addition of green spinach extract significantly affected the color and taste of broiler meat sausages. The more green spinach extract was added, the more intense the green color of the sausage, and the panelists preferred the color and taste of the sausage with the addition of green spinach extract. The color and taste of broiler meat sausage were highest at P3. The addition of green spinach extract can improve the organoleptic quality of broiler chicken sausage and is preferred.

Abstract

Abstract

Free-range chicken eggs are a source of high-value animal protein but are susceptible to quality deterioration during storage. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Averrhoa bilimbi L. leaf extract concentration and storage duration on the internal quality (Egg White Index, Egg Yolk Index, Haugh Unit, yolk color) and pH of free-range chicken eggs. An experimental method was employed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a 4 x 4 factorial pattern. The first factor was leaf extract concentration (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%), and the second factor was storage duration (7, 14, 21, and 28 days). The results showed that immersion in 5% Averrhoa bilimbi L. leaf extract significantly maintained internal egg quality compared to the control up to 14 days of storage. This treatment produced optimal values for the Egg White Index, Egg Yolk Index, Haugh Unit, and yolk color score, while also inhibiting the pH increase indicative of egg spoilage. However, an excessively high concentration (15%) resulted in physical quality degradation. It is concluded that Averrhoa bilimbi L. leaf extract has potential as an effective natural preservative for maintaining the freshness of free-range chicken eggs, with the best concentration at 5% for short- to medium-term storage.

Abstract

This prisma guided systematic review synthesizes quantitative evidence on the environmental sustainability and productivity of Australian cattle farming systems. The review aims to identify management practices that enhance production performance while reducing environmental impacts. A comprehensive multi-database search identified 45 eligible peer-reviewed studies reporting quantitative outcomes such as average daily gain, feed efficiency, carcass traits, methane emissions, land footprint, and water use efficiency. Data harmonization and standardized effect size calculations were applied, and study quality was evaluated using validated risk-of-bias tools. Meta-analysis showed that rotational grazing and targeted dietary supplementation significantly improved productivity, with an average 8.5% increase in growth performance and a 12.3% reduction in methane intensity. Integrated interventions combining pasture improvement and nutritional strategies demonstrated synergistic effects, achieving up to a 10% improvement in productivity alongside an 18% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions per unit of beef. Heterogeneity analyses revealed that system type, regional ecological conditions, and herd characteristics strongly influenced intervention outcomes. Sensitivity analyses confirmed robustness, with minimal evidence of publication bias. Overall, the findings support the adoption of sustainable intensification practices including rotational grazing and feed efficiency enhancements to align productivity goals with environmental stewardship. Longterm, region-specific research remains essential to guide policy and industry strategies for sustainable beef production in Australia.

Abstract

Providing PGPR to the soil around the plant can influence the growth and fresh production of Pygmy Elephant grass. This research aims to determine the effect of PGPR Mutiara Alam Tani on the number of tillers and leaf length. The research was carried out experimentally using (RAL) with 5 treatments and 4 repetitions consisting of treatment PO = Dwarf Elephant Grass (control) without the addition of PGPR; Treatment P1 = Dwarf Elephant Grass + PGPR 2.5 ml/liter water/m2; Treatment P2 = Dwarf Elephant Grass + PGPR 5 ml/liter of water/m2; Treatment P3 = Dwarf Elephant Grass + PGPR 7.5 ml/liter of water/m2; Treatment P4 = Dwarf Elephant Grass + PGPR 10 ml/liter water/m2). The parameters measured are the number of tillers and leaf length. The results showed that the highest number of tillers was shown in the P4 treatment where 10 ml of PGPR was added in 1 liter of water producing an average number of 5.50 tillers, while the lowest number of tillers was in the P0 treatment which did not add PGPR which produced an average number of tillers. 4.25 tillers. The longest leaves were found in treatment P4 where 10 ml PGPR was added in 1 liter of water with an average length of 75.75 cm, while the shortest leaf length was found in treatment P0 where no PGPR was added resulting in an average weight of 64.75 cm. The results of the analysis showed that the administration of PGPR Mutiara Alam Tani had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the number of tillers and leaf length of Dwarf Gajah Grass. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, it showed that P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4 had the number of tillers and leaf length which is relatively the same. So it can be concluded that the provision of PGPR Mutiara Alam Tani has not been able to influence the number of tillers and the yield of Dwarf Gajah Grass leaf length.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the success rate of artificial insemination of Simmental and Ongole crossbreed cattle in Purwanegara and the factors that influence its success. The results of the study of the success rate of artificial insemination showed that the average value of Secvice Per Conception (S/C) Simmental was 1.394 ± 0.125 and Ongole crossbreed was 1.295 ± 0.117 both approaching 1.00 identifying that each Simmental and Ongole crossbreed cow requires 1 dose of artificial insemination before reaching pregnancy and reflects the productivity level of Simmental and Ongole crossbreed cattle. The results of the study showed that the Conception Rate (CR) value in Simmental cattle was 78% and Ongole crossbreed reached 82%, in the Ongole crossbreed cattle conception rate parameter it was slightly higher when compared to Simmental, this shows that the CR of Ongole crossbreed cattle is better than Simmental cattle. The high Non Return Rate (NRR) value is 78%, while the Ongole crossbreed cattle have a higher non return rate of 82% so that the Ongole crossbreed has a higher NRR than Simmental. The success factors of artificial insemination are the fertility rate at high fertility based on the age and BCS condition of the cattle, the efficiency of the inseminator's work, the duration of reporting until artificial insemination and the quality of nutrition, temperature, climate, weather and cattle maintenance management
