Abstract

Background: The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still not satisfactory. Based on data from Riskesdas in 2010, exclusive breastfeeding coverage 31,0% and 30,2% in 2013. As for the less than an hour process of breastfeed in 2010 amounted to 29.3% and 34.5% in 2013. Some policies those concerning about exclusive breastfeeding and early initiation of breastfeeding has been established. The established policies at the central level should be implemented and under surveillance in order to have an impact and achieve the goals set. There are many factors that influence the process of implementation including implementing perception, communication, budget, resources, facilities and infrastructure, bureaucratic structures, and unclear technical implementation guidelines. Objective: This research aimed to obtain a representation of the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding policy at Binjai city North Sumatera as well as surveillance and the factors that influence its implementation. Methods: This research use a qualitative method with case study approach. Data collected by indepth interviews, focus groups discussion, observation and document study. Results: Implementation of exclusive breastfeeding policy is still not implemented. This can be seen by inexistence of surveillance to the policy implementation and there are different interpretations in implementing the policy by the policy implementers. Moreover, there is no communication channel, basic quantity of budget, the training for midwives, facilities and supporting infrastructure, bureaucratic structure, as well as the guidelines of technical implementation in this implementation of policy. Conclusion: The implementation of exclusive breastfeeding policy should be initiated with the establishment of derivative policies at the local level so that there are clear regulations in the implementation.ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Cakupan ASI eksklusif di Indonesia masih belum memuaskan. Berdasarkan data Riskesdas 2010 cakupan ASI eksklusif sebesar 31,0% dan 30,2% pada tahun 2013. Sedangkan untuk proses menyusu kurang dari satu jam (IMD) pada tahun 2010 sebesar 29,3% dan pada tahun 2013 sebesar 34,5%. Beberapa kebijakan mengenai ASI eksklusif dan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini (IMD) telah ditetapkan pemerintah. Kebijakan yang telah ditetapkan dengan baik di tingkat pusat seharusnya diimplementasikan dan dilakukan pengawasan dalam proses implementasinya, agar mempunyai dampak dan mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Ada banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi proses implementasi diantaranya persepsi pelaksana, komunikasi, anggaran, sumber daya, sarana dan prasarana, struktur birokrasi, dan pedoman pelaksanaan teknis yang kurang jelas. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran implementasi kebijakan ASI Eksklusif di Kota Binjai Sumatera Utara serta pengawasannya dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi implementasinya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Binjai Kota pada bulan Mei-Juni 2015. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan indepth interview, focus group discussion, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Hasil: Implementasi kebijakan ASI Eksklusif masih belum dilaksanakan dengan baik. Tidak adanya pengawasan terhadap implementasi kebijakan, penafsiran yang berbeda dalam mengimplementasikan kebijakan oleh implementer kebijakan. Selain itu tidak adanya saluran komunikasi, besaran anggaran, pelatihan bagi bidan, sarana dan prasarana pendukung, struktur birokrasi, serta pedoman pelaksanaan teknis, menyebabkan belum tercapainya tujuan kebijakan yang diharapkan. Kesimpulan: Implementasi kebijakan ASI Eksklusif sebaiknya diawali dengan dibuatnya kebijakan turunan di tingkat daerah sehingga ada regulasi yang jelas dalam pelaksanaannya.

Abstract

Siguci Village is one of the barangan banana producing villages in North Sumatera. The processing of banana has great prospect as one of business opportunities that increase the income of the local community. One of the processed products that can be made from barangan banana is banana flour the purpose of this training is to increase the understanding of the people of Siguci Villagr about the alternative processing of banana goods into banana flour. The method of implementation is by conducting training and direct assistance in the manufature of banana flour and conducting pre-test dan post-test based on the results of pre-test with an averange value of 23,3 and post-test with an averange value of 65 so it can be concluded that there is an increase in public understanding of the alternative processing of banana goods

Abstract

Desa Siguci Kecamatan STM Hilir, Kabupaten Deli Serdang merupakan salah satu desa penghasil pisang barangan di Sumatera Utara. Selama ini pisang barangan dari desa Siguci hanya dijual tanpa ada pengolahan. Salah satu olahan yang dapat dibuat dari pisang barangan adalah pembuatan nugget pisang yang dapat menjadi salah satu peluang usaha yang meningkatkan penghasilan masyarakat setempat. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan secara langsung pembuatan nugget pisang, uji kandungan lemak, karbohidrat, protein dan uji organoleptik nugget pisang. Hasil analisis kimia nugget pisang mengandung 19.4% total lemak, 1,23% karbohidrat dan 1,84% protein.berdasarkan tes organoleptik nugget pisang menunjukkan bahwa 100% sangat suka warna, aroma dan 80% suka rasa dari nugget pisang.

Abstract

Pendahuluan : Masalah gizi di Indonesia masih sangat tinggi salah satunya yaitu gizi kurang. Gizi kurang merupakan kondisi dimana seseorang tidak memiliki nutrien yang dibutuhkan tubuh akibat kesalahan atau kekurangan asupan makanan yang dapat mengakibatkan balita mengalami gizi buruk jika tidak dilakukan deteksi dini dan pencegahan. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan orangtua balita tentang pemenuhan gizi untuk pertumbuhan balita terhadap kejadian gizi kurang di Desa Fulӧlӧ Kecamatan Alasa Kabupaten Nias Utara. Bahan dan Metode : Sampel penelitian adalah selurung orangtua balita di Desa Fulӧlӧ dengan jumlah sampel 65 KK. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Cross Sectonal dengan menggunakan teknik Total Sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil dan Kesimpulan : Penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan pengetahuan ayah dan ibu, pendidikan ayah dan ibu, varitas, sumber informasi ibu, dan pendapatan orangtua balita tentang pemenuhan gizi untuk pertumbuhan balita terhadap kejadian gizi kurang dengan hasil ­p-value < 0.05. Dan Tidak terdapat hubungan yaitu sumber informasi ayah, lingkungan orangtua, budaya ayah dan ibu balita tentang pemenuhan gizi untuk pertumbuhan balita terhadap kejadian gizi kurang dengan hasil p-value > 0.05. Dengan demikian, diharapkan agar pelayanan kesehatan dapat mengoptimalkan program pemantauan status gizi masyarakat melalui penyuluhan pada kegiatan PKK dan Posyandu. Untuk orangtua juga diharapkan untuk mencaritahu informasi terkait gizi serta pengaplikasiannya terhadap pemenuhan gizi untuk pertumbuhan balita.

Abstract

The highest TB morbidity and mortality rates are in developing countries, including Indonesia. WHO hopes that TB research conducted in all countries can provide scientific evidence that it is important for all TB patients to be assessed for nutritional status and given nutritional counseling in all health facilities and the need to set operational standards in the treatment of malnutrition due to TB. The aimed of this study was to determine the effect of nutritional counseling on knowledge of carbohydrate, protein, vitamin A and zinc intakes in pulmonary TB patients at Unit Pulmonary Hospital of North Sumatra Province. This research was carried out at Special Pulmonary Hospital, North Sumatra Province. It was conducted in August - September 2021. This research was a Quasi Experimental study with One Group Pre and Post test Design. The population were all outpatient pulmonary TB patients with positive smear sputum in the DOTS poly in Unit Pulmonary Hospital of North Sumatra Province and the sample was 60 people who met the inclusion criteria. Obtained are that through the statistical tests, showed that the counseling carried out had a significant effect on increasing knowledge (p=0.000), carbohydrate intake (p=0.001), protein intake (p=0.000), vitamin A intake (p=0.000) and zinc mineral intake (p=0.000). It is hoped that this study can provide information for pulmonary TB patients about nutritional counseling in changing the intake of good nutrients to accelerate healing and suppress transmission of pulmonary TB.

Abstract

Nutritional deficiencies continue to be a public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in Posyandu Lasoni in Hilizoi Village. Inadequate dietary intake has a severe influence on children if it is not balanced; in the short term, it affects brain development and impairs physical growth, while in the long term, it reduces cognitive capacity and immunity. The study aimed to find out the associated mothers' knowledge of the first 1000 days of life and food intake with toddler nutritional status in Posyandu Lasoni, Hilizoi Village, Gido District, Nias Regency. This research was cross-sectional. Mothers with children aged 6 to 24 months were recruited from Posyandu. Chi-square analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a relationship between the mother's knowledge about the first 1000 days of life and the nutritional status of children aged 6-24 months with a p-value = 0.010 (p <0.05), and there is a relationship between food intake for children under five and the nutritional status of children aged 6-24 months with a p-value = 0.013 (p <0.05). It was to expand the understanding of Posyandu cadres, health professionals should be provided training relating to the first 1000 days of life, and it is intended that mothers with under-five children would seek more health information and be more diligent in participating in Posyandu events every month.

Abstract

Background; Bomboloni donuts are one of the products that are liked by the public, especially children, so innovation can be done, by using pandan leaf flour and filling with patin fish floss. Pandan leaves have bioactive compounds such as vitamin C and antioxidants, which can increase the nutritional value of food products. Patin fish floss is chosen as a filling because it contains 18 grams of protein in 100 grams of fish. Objectives; To analyze the levels of vitamin C and antioxidants in pandan leaf flour bomboloni donuts filled with patin fish floss. Material and Method; This type of research was experimental, with three product formulations (F1, F2, F3). Making bomboloni donuts from pandan leaf flour with patin fish floss filling at the Food Technology Laboratory Institut Kesehatan Helvetia and examining vitamin C and antioxidant levels at the Politeknik Teknologi Kimia Industri Laboratory. The weight of the research sample when examining vitamin C and antioxidant levels with 30 grams of donut skin and 20 grams of patin fish floss filling. Results; Vitamin C levels in F1 (8.37 mg/gram), F2 (10.40 mg/gram), and F3 (9.10 mg/gram). Antioxidants in each formulation in IC50 PPM values in F1 (31.47), F2 (30.11), and F3 (34.81) Conclusion; F2 has higher vitamin C levels compared to F1 and F3. Higher antioxidants in F3 treatment were due to the addition of 15% pandan leaf flour, compared to F1 at 5% and F2 at 10%.

Abstract

Introduction Anemia in pregnancy is a condition when the hemoglobin (Hb) level is <11 g% in the first and third trimesters, while in the second trimester, the hemoglobin level is <10.5 g%. The implications for pregnant women with anemia are abortion, bleeding during childbirth, low birth weight (LBW) babies, congenital disabilities, and babies easily infected and susceptible to suffering from malnutrition. Objective This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Mandrehe Health Center, West Nias Regency. Methods This is an analytical research study using a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was 140 pregnant women, while the sample was 104 pregnant women. The sampling technique was done by proportional random sampling. The data analysis technique used the chi-square test. Results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and anemia with a p-value of 0.008. There was a relationship between diet and anemia with a p-value of 0.007. There was a relationship between parity and anemia with a p-value of 0.012). There was a relationship between adherence to Fe tablet consumption and anemia with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion Health workers are expected to provide education to pregnant women about making antenatal care visits during pregnancy. In this way, health workers can monitor the diet, parity, and compliance of pregnant women in consuming blood supplements tablets.

Abstract

The problem of stunting does not only occur in Indonesia, but is also a global issue. The high rate of stunting in children under 5 years of age requires serious attention because it can affect their growth and development. Infant and young child feeding practices (PMBA) have great benefits in preventing stunting and supporting optimal growth and development processes. Inappropriate feeding in infants and toddlers can be one of the factors causing growth and development disorders known as stunting. This study aims to determine the effect of infant and young child feeding through emo-demo as an effort to prevent stunting in toddlers. The type of research is a quasi-experiment, with a one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample size of 30 mothers of toddlers. The results showed that there was an increase in the median score of maternal knowledge before and after being given an emo demo with a P-value of 0.000. The conclusion is that there is an effect of the emo demo about MP-ASI on changes in maternal knowledge before and after being given an emo demo at Posyandu.

Abstract

Background: Anemia is when the hemoglobin levels in the blood are lower than the normal range. Anemia can be prevented by consuming foods that are high in protein, iron, and vitamin C. Mung beans (Vigna Radiata) and green spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.) are foods rich in iron and vitamin C so that they can help hemoglobin formation. Dry Eclairs is a snack enjoyed by all age groups. Adding mung bean flour and spinach flour to prepare dry eclairs aims to make it a healthy snack to prevent anemia. Objectives: The research seeks to determine the organoleptic and chemical test results of dried éclair with mung beans and spinach (Sus Khi-Yam). Methods: The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) experiment with three treatments (F1, F2, and F3) and two repetitions, resulting in 6 experimental units. The Organoleptic test was conducted with 40 untrained panelists. The Chemical analysis was carried out to determine the levels of iron, antioxidants, vitamin C, fiber, and ash. Results: The organoleptic test showed that the most preferred color by the panelists was in treatment F1, with a preference level of 3.55. For flavor, treatment F2 was the most preferred by the panelists, with a preference level of 3.40. The most preferred taste was also found in the F2 treatment, with a score of 3.50. Meanwhile, the texture of the three treatments did not show significant differences in panelist preference. The Chemical test indicated that the F2 treatment had higher fiber, iron, and antioxidant content than other treatments. Conclusion: Panelist acceptance of Sus Khi-Yam snacks for all treatments (F1, F2, and F3) is acceptable, but the best Sus Khi-Yam snacks according to panelists in terms of color are in F1 treatment, the best Sus Khi-Yam snacks according to panelists in terms of texture are in F3 treatment and the best Sus Khi-Yam snacks according to panelists in terms of taste and aroma are in F2 treatment.
