Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence technology, particularly ChatGPT, has created new opportunities to support students’ academic writing processes. However, completing a final thesis remains challenging due to limited scientific writing skills, difficulties in finding references, and low levels of efficiency, effectiveness, and writing quality. The utilization of ChatGPT is considered an alternative solution to assist students in overcoming these obstacles, enabling a more optimal thesis-writing process. This study aims to determine the level of ChatGPT usage, analyze the optimization of final thesis writing, and examine the effect of ChatGPT usage on the optimization of thesis writing among students of the Pancasila and Civic Education Study Program, University of Lampung, Class of 2022. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, involving 64 students as respondents. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The results indicate that the use of ChatGPT is categorized as high in terms of usage intensity and skills, while the optimization of thesis writing is also classified as high in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. Statistically, ChatGPT usage has a significant effect on the optimization of thesis writing, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, ChatGPT plays a positive role in improving the speed, accuracy, and quality of thesis writing, while still requiring critical thinking and academic ethics to maintain the originality of scientific work.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of legal education understanding on the social media behavior of students of the Civic Education Study Program (PPKn), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. This research employs an ex post facto method with a quantitative descriptive correlational approach. The subjects of this study were students of the PPKn Study Program at the University of Lampung, cohort of 2022. The sample consisted of 52 students selected through purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this study was simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that legal education understanding has an effect on students’ social media behavior. This is evidenced by the results of the simple linear regression test, which show that the F-value is 35.704 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and a regression coefficient of 1.619. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.417, indicating that legal education understanding contributes 41.7% to students’ social media behavior. These findings demonstrate that legal education understanding has a positive and significant effect on students’ social media behavior.

Abstract

Teori dalam bidang sosial sangat penting sebagai dasar untuk memahami berbagai fenomena yang terjadi dalam kehidupan masyarakat, meliputi perilaku individu, proses interaksi sosial, serta pembentukan makna sosial. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dua pendekatan teoritis yang memiliki pengaruh dalam sosiologi, yakni interaksionisme simbolik dan postmodernisme. Interaksionisme simbolik menegaskan bahwa individu adalah aktor aktif yang menciptakan makna melalui interaksi sosial dengan menggunakan simbol-simbol dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Di sisi lain, postmodernisme muncul sebagai kritik terhadap modernisme dengan menolak adanya kebenaran tunggal dan menekankan bahwa realitas sosial bersifat beragam, dinamis, serta dibentuk dari berbagai perspektif yang dipengaruhi oleh budaya, media, dan hubungan kekuasaan. Metodologi yang diterapkan dalam artikel ini adalah dengan studi literatur yang menganalisis berbagai sumber yang relevan terkait kedua teori tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa interaksionisme simbolik berkontribusi dalam memahami pembentukan makna di tingkat mikro, sementara postmodernisme memberikan kerangka untuk memahami kerumitan dan keberagaman realitas sosial di tingkat makro. Oleh karena itu, kedua teori ini saling melengkapi dalam menjelaskan kompleksitas dinamika kehidupan masyarakat modern.
