Abstract

This article aims to explain the implementation of community service through the creation of the SI-BAPER application and the benefits that the community derives from this community service activity. The steps for creating the Blanko Information System and Application Flow are as follows: 1) identify service types by grouping land services frequently requested by the public, 2) compile and visualize the application flow for each service, 3) upload PDF or Word files, flow diagrams, and application forms to Google Drive, 4) generate QR codes, 5) design stickers containing the SI-BAPER QR code, 6) affix the QR code at service counters or on notice boards at the Sukoharjo District Land Office and Village Offices, 7) conduct QR code testing with applicants/the public and village officials, and 8) explain the benefits of SI-BAPER to applicants/the public and village officials. The research results show that the SI-BAPER application is a strategic medium for bringing services closer to the village level. The inclusion paradigm is one of the important foundations for creating this application. In its implementation, the community feels greatly assisted by the presence of the SI- BAPER application. The follow-up to the creation of this application is to ensure that it can reach a wider range of village locations. The SI-BAPER application can also be replicated in other land offices as a form of facilitating easy land services. The SI-BAPER application needs to be continued to be synchronised with other public service applications available in the village.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: This study investigated the effect of a brain hemispheres-compatible teaching strategy on developing information processing skills among eighth-grade mathematics students. The approach aims to engage both left-hemisphere functions (logical reasoning, sequential processing) and right-hemisphere functions (spatial reasoning, holistic thinking) to enhance mathematical learning during the critical developmental period of early adolescence. Methods: The research employed a quasi-experimental design with two equivalent groups at Avro School (2022-2023): an experimental group (30 students) taught using the brain hemispheres strategy and a control group (29 students) taught using traditional instruction. Assessment utilized a validated 25-item test measuring four information processing skills: summarization, application, pattern recognition, and interpretation. The experimental intervention followed six phases: preparation, engagement, learning design, acquisition, memory formation, and functional integration. Results: Statistical analysis revealed significant differences favoring the experimental group (t=5.988, p<0.05) with a very large effect size (η²=0.38). The experimental group showed significant improvement across all four information processing skills with effect sizes ranging from 1.19 to 2.19. Conclusion: The brain hemispheres-compatible teaching strategy proved highly effective in developing students’ mathematical information processing skills by creating organized mental frameworks that facilitate knowledge integration and cognitive development.

Abstract

Native advertising is often difficult to detect because it resembles regular news articles. One indicator is the absence of diverse information sources or the reliance on a single perspective. Therefore, it is necessary to employ an extraction technique capable of consolidating various forms of identical entity mentions. This study integrates an NER model based on XLNet+BiLSTM+CRF with identical entity classification using Levenshtein distance features and static and contextual vector representations. The results show an F1-score of 93.71% at the entity level and 92.84% for identical entity identification, along with a list of unique citation sources. These findings demonstrate that this unique list can be an additional feature in detecting native advertising, which often relies on a single source. With an average unique entity coverage of 97.40%, the proposed architecture can extract unique entities within news articles

Abstract

The ornamental fish industry in Indonesia has experienced significant growth, positioning the country as the second-largest global exporter of ornamental fish in 2020. However, fish shop owners still face operational challenges, especially in managing consistent and timely feeding across multiple aquariums. Manual feeding practices often lead to inefficiencies and can compromise fish health and water quality. This study presents an end-to-end fish feeding information system integrated with an Android mobile application, designed to address these challenges. System development in this study employs waterfall method. The system supports automated fish feeding routines, device management, and multi-user access with token-based authentication, enabling fish shop owners to operate multiple feeders under a single account. Communication between IoT devices and the backend server utilizes MQTT, ensuring independent control of each feeder through unique topics. The system introduces a novel architecture that supports multi-user, multi-device operations in an end-to-end feeding workflow, improving scalability and efficiency compared to existing single-device systems. System testing, including black box and load testing, demonstrated robust performance, with all test scenarios passing successfully and an error rate of 0.00% during high-load simulations involving up to 100 virtual users. These results indicate that the system effectively addresses existing limitations in fish feeding management and is capable of supporting multiple users and fish feeder devices simultaneously. Further development is recommended to enhance infrastructure, security, and scalability for real-world deployment.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of information asymmetry and firm size on earnings management in Indonesian listed firms. Using panel data analysis, the research evaluates both individual and joint effects of these variables. Descriptive statistics indicate a moderate level of earnings management, with firms exhibiting both income-increasing and income-decreasing adjustments. The results of hypothesis testing reveal that information asymmetry alone does not significantly affect earnings management (p = 0.1764), while firm size has a significant negative effect (p = 0.0001), suggesting that larger firms engage in less opportunistic reporting. However, the F-test shows that information asymmetry and firm size jointly have a significant impact on earnings management (p = 0.036), explaining 34.72% of the variation in the dependent variable. These findings align with agency theory, which emphasizes managerial discretion under information imbalance, and signaling theory, which highlights the strategic use of earnings to communicate firm performance. The study underscores the importance of governance and monitoring mechanisms in mitigating earnings manipulation in Indonesian firms.

Abstract

Bangkinang, the capital of Kampar District with an area of 177.2 km² and a population of 39,793, experiences a tropical climate that contributes to elevated surface temperatures. Increasing population, vehicle emissions, and industrial activities intensify urban heat, while limited vegetation density exacerbates the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect. This study analyzes surface temperatures in 2021, 2022, and 2023 using Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS data. Land Surface Temperature (LST) was calculated using the Single Channel Algorithm (SCA) method, resulting in average temperatures of 27.755°C (2021), 26.644°C (2022), and 27.130°C (2023). The Pearson correlation between LST and field temperature from BPS produced an Rxy value of 0.226, indicating a weak correlation. The UHI threshold analysis shows that the area affected by UHI decreased consistently from 2021 to 2023.

Abstract

The use of Geographic Information System (GIS) modelling in developing geothermal resources has been widely carried out, from the initial survey and exploration to exploitation or production stages. This GIS modelling aims to delineate specific locations that are considered to have geothermal resources or are suitable for geothermal field production facilities. This study aims to obtain a map of the recommended wellpad area for the optimal geothermal exploration well drilling location by considering technical and non-technical parameters. This research was conducted in the Cisolok-Cisukarame geothermal prospect area in Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province. The map is produced by integrating eight parameters that will affect the amount of drilling costs: prospect area, slope, reservoir crest depth area, geological structure, water source, access road, settlement area, surface manifestation area, and cultural heritage area. In the early stages, buffer areas and classifications were made for these parameters with a specific range of values based on several considerations. Furthermore, spatial data integration is carried out using vector overlaying boolean operations. The result is a map of the wellpad recommendation area for geothermal exploration wells in the Cisolok-Cisukarame area, with an area of approximately 6.31 km2 (19.62% of the P90 prospect area). Using a 120-meter fishnet produces eight large cluster areas and five small cluster areas, which are suitable for wellpad of standard hole. Meanwhile, the 50-meter fishnet produces the same number of clusters and five other smaller clusters. The results of this study can be used as recommendations for areas to be used as well as footprint locations and planning for further field survey activities such as geotechnical and infrastructure surveys.
