Abstract

Objective : This study analyzes the effect of Non-Performing Loans (NPL) and Liquidity (LDR) on bank Profitability (ROA), with Operational Efficiency (BOPO) as an intervening variable, motivated by inconsistent findings in previous studies and the growing importance of operational efficiency in the digital era. Methods:This explanatory quantitative study uses secondary data from banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for 2020–2025. Purposive sampling produced 26 companies with 156 firm-year observations, reduced to 122 after outlier treatment, analyzed through multiple linear regression, path analysis, and the Sobel test using SPSS. Results: NPL has a positive and significant effect on BOPO (β = 0.558), while LDR has no significant effect on BOPO (β = 0.019). Neither NPL nor LDR significantly affects ROA directly (β = 0.020 and β = -0.030), whereas BOPO has a negative and significant effect on ROA (β = -0.948). BOPO fully mediates the effect of NPL on ROA (Sobel t = 6.918 > 1.980) but does not mediate the effect of LDR on ROA (Sobel t = 0.253 < 1.980). Adjusted R² is 22.7% for Equation 1 and 83.7% for Equation 2. Novelty: This study positions operational efficiency as a mediating momentum in the digital era, showing that credit risk depresses bank profitability mainly through the operational-cost channel rather than directly, an angle rarely combined with a path-analysis and Sobel-test framework in prior Indonesian banking studies.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Integrated Islamic School (SIT) models and new Islamic boarding schools with high fee structures stirs ongoing vital debates on the core path of Islamic learning in Indonesia. While meeting middle-class Muslim demand for enhanced learning quality, rising school fees prompt the commercialization of education, fostering deep exclusivity and social division. This paper examines these market practices with a critical eye and builds a fair model for financing management to promote educational equity. Using Qualitative Library Research with critical discourse analysis of fiscal rules and school policy literature, the study findings show that profit focus without strong moral social pledges shifts Islamic study from a shared public good to a private luxury asset type. Thus, this paper offers three base steps for fair fiscal plans: (1) setting a fair tiered fee scheme based on proven income ranks, (2) linking productive Ziswaf as a firm-run school trust fund to ensure equitable student financial support, and (3) shifting budget focus to substantially improving teaching skills (learning-first grants) over building outer looks. Lastly, Islamic school leaders must actively shift from ordinary fiscal clerks to social founders who match long-term money stability with broad access for needy groups.

Abstract

Developing religious character requires planned and continuous guidance, particularly through activities that provide students with direct learning experiences. This study aimed to analyze the management of muhadhoroh religious extracurricular activities in developing students' religious character at SMPIT Imam Syafi'i 2 Pekanbaru. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews with the principal, vice principal for student affairs, extracurricular coach, homeroom teacher, and students, as well as program documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while trustworthiness was established through source and technique triangulation. The findings showed that the program was managed systematically through planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. Coordination among school personnel, gradual coaching, rotating task assignments, and regular evaluation supported improvements in discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, public speaking skills, mutual respect, and religious practices. These findings confirm that the effectiveness of muhadhoroh is determined not only by the activity content but also by the quality of program management. Structured management makes muhadhoroh an effective strategy for strengthening students' religious character and sustaining a religious school culture.

Abstract

Dance education in vocational high schools, particularly in engineering programs, faces challenges due to students' limited artistic knowledge and the stereotype that dance is associated with females. This study aims to explore the phenomenon of Kiprah Glipang Dance learning in developing artistic insight and art appreciation among tenth-grade male engineering students at SMKN 2 Probolinggo. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed. The participants consisted of 12 male engineering students and one Cultural Arts teacher selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Moustakas’ phenomenological model. Trustworthiness was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that local culture-based Kiprah Glipang Dance instruction enhanced students’ artistic insight, art appreciation, self-confidence, active participation, and awareness of preserving local culture. These findings were supported by an increase in the average pretest score from 29 to 78 on the posttest. The novelty of this study lies in revealing the lived experiences of male engineering students in learning traditional dance within vocational education. The findings contribute to the development of local culture-based arts education and support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) and the mechanisms through which it contributes to elementary education quality. A qualitative case-study design was employed at SDN 1 Bagik Payung Timur, Suralaga District, East Lombok Regency. Informants were selected purposively and included the principal, teachers, the school committee, and parent representatives. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and document analysis and were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Credibility was strengthened through source and method triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that SBM was supported by participatory planning, curriculum-management flexibility, teacher professional development and academic supervision, transparent facilities and financial management, partnerships with the school committee and parents, and periodic program evaluation. Observed changes included stronger stakeholder collaboration, improved student discipline and attendance, increased academic and non-academic achievements, and greater parental participation. However, digital learning use, literacy programs, sustained teacher development, and resource adequacy still require improvement. The study contributes a Quality-Oriented SBM Cycle integrating autonomy, participation, professional capacity, and accountability. As the study is based on a single case without a comparison group, the findings should be interpreted contextually rather than causally.

Abstract

Social studies (IPS) learning at Muhammadiyah Kriyan Elementary School is still dominated by conventional textbook-based methods that rarely draw on local wisdom, causing low student engagement and shallow understanding of social values; national data show 74.2% of young Indonesians identify more with global popular culture than local traditions, and over 70% of teachers still rely solely on textbooks (BPS, 2023; Sofyan et al., 2025). This study identifies the social values in the Torch War Tradition of Tegalsambi Village and analyzes their relevance to elementary IPS learning. A qualitative case study approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, analyzed via data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with trustworthiness established through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Results show the tradition embodies five core social values—mutual cooperation, togetherness and solidarity, tolerance, social awareness, and religiousness—internalized through family socialization, community socialization, and annual ritualization. These values are strongly relevant to IPS learning across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, particularly for socio-cultural diversity, cooperation, and social interaction, and can be integrated through three models: story-based learning, field trips, and simple projects. Teachers thus need to integrate local wisdom into IPS instruction to strengthen engagement, motivation, and character formation.

Abstract

This study identifies educational management dimensions that support elementary learning quality in the digital era and develops an Adaptive Learning Management Framework. A structured integrative literature review was conducted. Searches were carried out in July 2026 through Google Scholar, SINTA, scholarly publisher platforms, and official OECD, UNESCO, and Indonesian government documents. Manual searching of reference lists and authors’ academic profiles was used as a supplementary strategy, with identical inclusion criteria applied to mitigate authorship bias. Thirty-one documents met the criteria of relevance, credibility, methodological transparency, and conceptual contribution, comprising 17 international articles, seven national articles, and seven reports or policy documents. Thematic synthesis generated six dimensions: needs-based diagnosis and planning; instructional leadership and organizational coordination; teacher professional learning and supervision; pedagogical and digital technology governance; data-informed monitoring; and partnership, equity, and ethical safeguards. Technology does not automatically improve quality; its contribution depends on goal alignment, teacher capacity, leadership support, feedback quality, sustainable infrastructure, and equitable access. The proposed framework explains a chain of influence from managerial capacity to teacher practice, students’ learning experiences, and learning quality through recurring cycles of diagnosis, action, monitoring, and improvement.
