Abstract

PT INKA (Persero) is the first integrated train manufacturing company in Southeast Asia. One of the train products currently being worked on is a 612-car passenger train. However, in the production process defects are often found. The end wall component produces the highest defects with a defect percentage of 10.8%. This research uses the Quality Control Circle method and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis at PT INKA (Persero) to determine the level of defects and provide suggestions for improvement. The results of the research show that the percentage level of end wall defects is end wall flatness exceeding tolerance (38%), wavy end walls (33%), and end wall scratches (29%). Recommendations for improvement given are based on the five highest RPN values, namely supervision and pressure of the welder during briefings to regulate and maintain the stability of the amperage and voltmeter according to the WPS used, making a routine schedule to monitor the performance of the welder and the welding process, providing manual procedures or guidelines that are easy to understand. and accessed by the welder, the use of auxiliary tools such as jigs (fasteners) and fixtures (holding devices), and providing sufficient rest time and making the system appreciated or recognized for good performance.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the risks that occur in the weaving process and provide risk management and prevention strategies. The method of this research is to use fuzzy-bow tie analysis where fuzzy analysis is used to calculate the probability of factors and impacts that occur while bow tie analysis is to identify risk variables and plan management and prevention strategies. The findings from the study have identified five risk variables: fire, work fatigue, Operator accident, machine damage, and product defect. After conducting a survey of 5 employees working in the weaving department by measuring the probability of risk occurrences and the level of risk impact, the results were that of the 5 main risks identified, 3 of them had high risk values and 2 had moderate risk. To reduce the level of risk, risk mitigation is carried out by conducting an analysis of prevention and management strategies using the Bow tie method.

Abstract

PT Industri Kereta Api or commonly called PT INKA is a company engaged in the field of railway production. One of the machines that often experiences damage is the Gap Shear / Hydraulic Shear machine, with a total of 41 repairs during the period June 2023 to February 2024. From this problem it is necessary to carry out an analysis using the House of Risk (HOR) method and Root Cause analysis to determine optimal risk mitigation strategies so as to minimize the occurrence of machine damage. The results of the research recommend that companies can monitor and analyze the service life of machine components based on the intensity of machine use, implement a production scheduling system and apply predictive analysis of safe production quantities for machine reliability, implement regular training programs for operators regarding instructions and standards for machine use and create a clear and easy to understand machine usage manual, provide clear documentation regarding the materials used and their characteristics, and implement preventive maintenance based on vibration monitoring data.

Abstract

Presidential Regulation (PERPRES) Number 2 of 2022 concerning National Entrepreneurship Development for 2021-2024, mandates that the target entrepreneurship ratio in 2024 is 4.0%. Vocational education that oversees SMK encourages students to be productive, one of which is through entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial interest is one of the important precursor variables for entrepreneurship. This study uses a quantitative approach survey method. The form of problem formulation used in this study is associative-causal. The sample used in this study amounted to 222 students from public vocational schools in Malang City. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used include descriptive, partial correlation, and multiple regression. The conclusion in this study shows that career adaptability and self-discipline have no partial effect on students' entrepreneurial interest, while self-efficacy and digital literacy have a partial effect on students' entrepreneurial interest. The results also reveal that there is no simultaneous influence between career adaptability, self-efficacy, self-discipline, digital literacy on entrepreneurial interest of vocational students in Malang City.

Abstract

The recommendation system is an important component in enhancing the user experience by providing relevant and personalized course recommendations that align with individual preferences and needs. The Hybrid Collaborative Filtering approach combines the Collaborative Filtering (CF) method, which analyzes user interaction patterns, with the Content-Based Filtering (CBF) method, which evaluates the similarity of course content features. Implementing this hybrid system is expected to overcome the limitations of each method, such as the cold start problem in CF and the limitation of recommendation variety in CBF. This research aims to design a recommendation system in the academic environment known as “Genusian Course Academy”. This hybrid approach is expected to overcome the weaknesses of each approach and result in a more accurate and personalized recommendation system. The implementation of this system is expected to improve the online learning experience and help users find training that matches their needs users.

Abstract

Bio-Oil is a raw material that can be produced through various methods, one of which is the biomass pyrolysis process. Biomass pyrolysis has been extensively studied and has shown promising potential as an alternative fuel due to its lignocellulose content. In Indonesia, corn production reaches 23.1 million tons, resulting in waste in the form of corn cobs. This study employed the fast pyrolysis method to convert corn cobs into Bio-Oil. The pyrolysis process was conducted in a sealed reactor, externally heated to a temperature of 400°C. The corn cobs used as raw material were first crushed and sieved to achieve a uniform particle size of 20 mesh. Subsequently, the corn cobs were placed into the pyrolysis reactor, with residence times varied at 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 minutes. Upon completion of the pyrolysis process, the resulting products, consisting of Bio-Oil, charcoal, and pyrolysis gas, were separated and analyzed for Bio-Oil yield, density, viscosity, and calorific value. Chemical composition analysis was performed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to identify the main compounds present in the Bio-Oil. The highest yield was obtained with a particle size of 20 mesh and a residence time of 120 minutes, resulting in a yield of 72.4632%, a density of 1.3018 kg/m³, a viscosity of 1.6712 mm²/s, and a calorific value of 6.640 Kcal/kg. GC-MS analysis revealed an acetic acid content of 37.49% and a methyl ester content of 22.19%.

Abstract

Activated carbon is an adsorbent commonly used in adsorption methods for waste treatment due to its high adsorption capacity and simple preparation. Nevertheless, activated carbon also has limitations, such as low adsorption efficiency, which necessitates the use of supporting materials to resolve these weaknesses. TiO₂ a semiconductor material used in photocatalysis for waste treatment, has the advantage of reducing contaminants through decomposition processes. Nevertheless, TiO₂ also has disadvantages, such as a low adsorption capacity and a tendency to agglomerate. To resolve the limitations of both activated carbon and TiO₂, a method of combining these materials is employed. The addition of TiO₂ to activated carbon through sonication disperses TiO₂ particles on the surface of the activated carbon particles, filling the pores inside the activated carbon structure and creating additional micro and mesopores. This process enhances the porosity and surface area of the activated carbon. This study is intended to determine the effect of TiO₂  addition ratio and HCl activator concentration on the quality of the activated carbon. The research methodology involves activating the carbon with HCl and addition of  TiO₂  in specific ratios through sonication. The best results were obtained with a treatment using 1 M HCl concentration and  5% TiO₂ addition ratio, which resulted in activated carbon with a surface area of 4257 m²/g. The addition of TiO₂ to HCl-activated carbon significantly increases the surface area compared to activated carbon without TiO₂.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper is known to be susceptible to various types of flooding by showing various negative responses. This study seeks to ascertain the influence of PGPR on the adverse effects of floods on cayenne pepper as a means to mitigate farmer losses. The study used a completely randomized design on cayenne pepper which was given treatments in the form of control without PGPR (K(-)), control with PGPR (K(+)), flooding treatment for 2 days with PGPR 7 days later (P(+)) and without PGPR (P(-)) each with 10 reps. The two-way ANOVA test reflected that flooding had a significant effect on the response of plant height increase, petiole curvature angle, and wilting. In contrast, PGPR application had a significant effect on plant height increase and number of branches. The interaction of flooding and PGPR application significantly affects the increase in plant height but not the number of leaves, the number of branches, the angle of curvature of the petiole, and wilting. It was concluded that the application of PGPR can reduce the adverse effects of flooding on cayenne pepper farming.

Abstract

Indonesia, as one of the most populous countries in the world, presents a potential market for the growth of various types of social media. However, the rapid penetration of social media has not been matched by a good level of literacy among its users, leading to a tendency for social media use to have negative implications. The literacy instruments used to measure media literacy certainly need a quality analysis to ensure that the instruments developed can indeed measure what they intend to measure. Rasch Model instrument analysis can be a way to assess the quality of the developed instruments. This study is a developmental research aimed at developing a media literacy instrument. The analysis in this article is conducted to describe the quality of the media literacy instrument that has been developed. The subjects in this study are 421 response patterns to a set of questionnaire statements consisting of 25 items on a Likert scale with four alternative answers. Based on the research conducted, it was found that out of the 25 items tested, they have good validity and reliability. However, among the 25 statements tested, there are 4 statements that are considered less fit or less effective in measuring media literacy indicators. Out of 421 respondents, 17.58% of respondents have high literacy skills, 72.2% have moderate media literacy skills, and the remaining 10.2% have low media literacy.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine plyometrics-HIIT training on HRV in sedentary adult women. Participants were 30 adult women divided into two groups: plyometrics-HIIT treatment group (n= 15, age= 33±0.9 years, BMI= 20.8±1.0 kg/m2) and control group (n= 15, age= 31±0.7 years, BMI= 20.2±0.9 kg/m2). The treatment group was given plyometrics-HIIT training for six weeks. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) was measured using Polar H-10 and Elite-HRV app 24-48 hours before training and 24 hours after training. Independent sample t-tests were used to determine differences between the baseline characteristics of the two groups using two-way repeated measures ANOVA. All statistical tests were performed with IBM SPSS version 26. In the treatment group, the time domain was significantly improved at (SDNN; 45.78±46.20 vs 64.35±44.50 ms, p<0.05, RMSSD; 49.52±58.07 vs 77.62±61.18 ms, p<0.05). HRrest decreased significantly after exercise (78.84±18.5 vs 67.5±15.8 bpm, p<0.05). However, there were no significant differences in all frequency domain measurements. In conclusion this study plyometric-HIIT can improve cardiovascular function in underactive adult women. Thus, plyometric-HIIT can be assessed as an alternative exercise to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
