Transformatika: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajarannya is an e-journal published by Universitas Tidar. The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) reviewers. Every article that goes to the editorial staff will be selected through initial review processes by Editorial Board. Then, the articles will be sent to peer reviewer (Mitra Bestari) and will go to the next selection by the double-blind review process. After that, the articles will be returned to the authors to revise. These processes take a month for a maximum time. In each manuscript, peer reviewer will be rated from the substantial and technical aspects. Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by editors according to reviewers comments. Peer reviewer that collaboration with Transformatika: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajarannya is the experts in the linguistics, literature, and their teaching area and issues around it. They were experienced in the prestigious journal management and publication that was spread around the nation and abroad.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) prove the significant difference between the result of students’ reading comprehension using KWL technique and the students without KWL technique and (2) prove the effectiveness of KWL technique in reading class. This research applied quasi experiment with Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The populations were the second semester students of Indonesian education and literature study program in the academic year of 2016/2017. Test was used as the instrument of this research. Then, the data was analyzed by using T-test. The results of the study show that (1) there is a difference on the students’ reading comprehension result using KWL and the students without KWL technique. It is shown by Sig value (2-tailed) in experiment class posttest and control class is less than 0.050. (2) KWL technique is effective to be used in reading class.Keywords: reading, KWL technique.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the defense of Java language and bilingualism on the learning process of yellow book in Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Darussalam. The data in this study was obtained when asatidz read, interpret, and explain the contents of the yellow book to the students. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Descriptive method is a research method that tries to describe and interpret the object in accordance with the actual situation. This research also uses direct observation method in collecting data in yellow book study at Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Darusalam Pucangan Kartasura. The results of this study indicate the existence of the phenomenon bilingualism in the process of learning yellow book. In addition, in this study also shows the occurrence of Java language retention process that can be classified into several forms of words (terms). There are several factors that lie behind the defense of Javanese language and bilingualism that occurred in Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Darussalam.

Abstract

The teaching-learning process in this school is still run traditionally in which a teacher-centered approach is occured. The teacher explains the subject matter and after that the students are asked to do the exercises. There are no activities that increase students’ motivation to increase students’ concentration and interest in the lesson.In relation to the problems, a structured and integrated training and mentoring are needed to be done. The skill of creating activities that lasted 2 to 3 minutes aimed at maintaining the concentration and motivation of students is absolutely necessary for the learning process to be effective. In addition, it takes some time for the brain to process new information in it.This program started with training activities to change the mindset and increase teachers' insight into the importance of energizers in learning. In this training, teachers are required to be creative in creating various kinds of fun activities on the sidelines of learning. Furthermore, the energizers application of this training applied in the classroom.Keywords: energizers, active learning, teachers

Abstract

This study is research and development. It is based on the analysis of necessity in media of teaching for WADAH (Colours, Shapes, Numbers, Alphabets and Arabic). Moreover, the study is needed by teachers and students in RA for WADAH materials. The purpose of the study is to understand the design of Smart Fan as the media for introducing WADAH to students in RA. The development of the product in this study was done by combining steps from Kemps model and Borg and gall consisting of: (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) design product (prototype) (4) validation, (5) product revision (6) main field testing, (7) revision. The result of this research is that the Smart Fan is acceptable to be used in teaching WADAH in RA.Keywords: development, smart fan, WADAH, RA

Abstract

The background of this research comes from a controversial speech of Ahok. Speech delivered in the Kepulauan Seribu must be seen from the capacity of Ahok as the head of a region that has its own power and ideology. This research are not intended to see the true and false aspects of Ahok's speech that alludes to Surah Al-maidah verse 51, but this study aims to: (1) analyze ideological discourse; (2) analyze discourse and power relations; and (3) analyzing the implicatures that emerged from Ahok's speech in Kepulauan Seribu. The approach used in this research is critical discourse analysis. Sources of data in this study is the video of Ahok's speech in Kepulauan Seribu. The research data is a fragment of transcription of speech Ahok. The video of the speech is downloaded from the Youtube page. The analysis is not only in the textual aspect but also on the contextual aspect. The results of this study can be concluded that there are: (1) elements of Islamic ideology and the ideology of feminism in Ahok's speech; (2) power relations in Ahok's speech; (3) implicatures as a model of meaning implied in Ahok's speech.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze feminist ideology and thoughts about the ecofeminism of Parang Jati characters, the role of thinking and the realization of the ecofeminism that Parang Jati did in rescuing the Sewugunung karst area, as well as the impact of the understanding of ecofeminism carried out by Parang Jati to save the Sewugunung karst area in the novel Bilangan Fu. The research method used is descriptive analysis method with qualitative research. The result of the ideological analysis of the Parang Jati character is that the Parang Jati figure is a figure who has a critical attitude and thinking towards patriarchy although he was born with male gender so that later on he becomes a feminist man. The results of the ecofeminism analysis of the Parang Jati character in rescuing the Sewugunung karst area from mining are Parang Jati formulates three cultural strategies namely: (1) making Sewugunung a Protected Area category I a; (2) changing people's ideas on nature conservation through art performances and dialogues; and (3) making Sewugunung a Protected Area category III. The results of the impact analysis of the realization of the ecofeminism of Parang Jati figures are: (1) The Government reviews proposals to make the area under conservation; (2) The company does not extend the security forces; and (3) changes in the attitudes of the figures to become more concerned with nature and do not commit violence against humans, especially women.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementing a project-based learning model. This study used design of classroom action research in two cycles. The instrument used was in the form of a test instrument to measure the results of knowledge and skills tests, as well as non-test instruments to find out student activity data. The subjects in this study were 42 5A grade students of Indonesian Language Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University Surakarta, who attended learning tool courses in the odd semester of 2017/2018. Based on the results of the study, aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitudes of students in the basic concepts, classifications, and criteria of visual learning tool for elementary and junior high school students have increased after using the project-based learning model. The results of the knowledge test showed that the average class score on the cycle was 48.7, the first cycle was 48.67, then in the second cycle, it increased to 84.45 in the excellent category. As for the results of the skill test, the pre-cycle class average value is 69.69, the first cycle is 75.64, and in the second cycle is 84.06. The results of the non-data data analysis also showed an increase in student activity. In prusiks the percentage of students who are passive is 16.67%, in cycle one it is reduced to 11.90%, then in cycle 2, it is only 9.52%. When pre-cycle the percentage of students active during lectures is 47.62%, then during period one it increases to 52.38%, and in cycle two it becomes 59.52%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the steps of developing Sindoro Sumbing Legend pop-up media based on local wisdom as a student literacy media. This type of research is development research (R & D). This research was conducted at SDN Nguwet Kranggan, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, with a research subject of 35 class V students. The research instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Questionnaires were filled in directly by respondents and validated by experts. The respondents who filled out the survey were teaching material experts, learning tool experts, and students. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive analysis. The results of this study are that Media Pop-Up developed is a Pop-Up folk tale or legend by linking local story elements in Temanggung Regency. This is due to the developed Pop-Up Book media based on local wisdom so that relevant stories are chosen, namely the Sindoro Sumbing Legend. Pop-Up Media Legend of Sindoro Sumbing based on domestic intelligence was developed with stages (1) research and data collection, (2) product manufacturing planning, (3) product draft development, and (4) limited implementation test. The results of the implementation tests in schools include individual tests, limited, and extensive tests obtaining scores in a row 4.25; 4.48; and 4.77, which means that the Pop-Up Legenda Sindoro Sumbing media is worthy of being used as a media for student literacy.

Abstract

Karni Ilyas rhetorical strategy that astounds with the technique of persuasion through Indonesia Lawyers Club (ILC) serves impressions about the information in the form of event/occurrence law succeeded in attracting the attention of the community. This research aims to interpret the usage of rhetoric functions of verbal and nonverbal emcee ILC as a strategy of rhetoric. The design and type of research use descriptive analytics. This research was conducted comprehensively refers to the analysis of the rhetoric of verbal and nonverbal. Based on the results and discussion of the rhetoric of oral, nonverbal, obtained ILC events regarding the use of the rhetoric of verbal and nonverbal strategies as a presenter with the techniques of persuasion. Type of diction, diction in denotative, connotative, special, public, scientific, accessible, and the style of language used have a strategy that could affect listeners. The various elements of the selected non-verbal rhetoric serve to launch the process of policy within the host changes the listener. Therefore, an absolute necessity in communicating art an emcee who wanted to deliver a message delivered through the rhetoric form of speech (verbal) and rhetoric form of body language (nonverbal).

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the main characters’ personality in the novel of Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye based on Carl Gustav Jung’s psychoanalysis. The research method used qualitative with content analysis. Data were collected by inventorying Thomas's conversation based on Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic personality characteristic. It consists of think extrovert, feels extrovert, sense extrovert, intuition extrovert, think introvert, feel introvert, sensitive introvert, and intuition introvert. The results revealed that the discovery of eight main characters’ personality. First, think extrovert is demonstrated by the ability of intellectual analysis of objective experience. Second, feel extrovert is found by responding emotionally to objective reality. Third, sense extrovert is the tendency of figures to analyze the situation. Fourth, intuition extrovert is seen by its character does not care about logic. Fifth, think introvert figure depiction looks inflexible, cold, judge, and cruel. Sixth, feel introvert showed by figures are selfish and unsympathetic. Seventh, sense introvert found the ability of the senses to give them subjective meaning. Eighth, intuition introvert is demonstrated by the figure closing in and keeping the distance from the others. In conclusion, the eight personality types can be found on the whole structure of an irregular novel story.
