Abstract

The decline in clove crop production due to crop failure in Malewong Village has required farmers to adapt to the situation. This ability is expected to restore the condition of their farms for sustainability. Their resilience actions in the form of social competence, problem solving skills, autonomy, sense of purpose and bright future are the focus of this study. This study aims to determine the economic resilience of clove farmers facing the problem of crop failure. In-depth interviews were conducted by random purposive sampling of clove farmers in the area. The results showed that clove farmers have an adaptive attitude driven by social support (I Have), self-strength (I Am), and ability (I Can) in their resilience to face the problem of crop failure. They use their social capital (social competence) to obtain loans as additional capital in crop maintenance efforts. Some farmers plant other crops such as patchouli, pepper, cacao and durian. There are also those who utilise their knowledge and skills to process unproductive clove tree trunks into profitable oil (problem solving skills). Other actions include intensive land clearing and fertilisation of clove plants (autonomy), and for the sustainability of their farms, farmers carry out plant rehabilitation by replacing old plants with seedlings of better varieties (sense of purpose and bright future) in the hope that production will increase.

Abstract

Irrigation is an important factor in supporting and increasing agricultural production. For the smooth running of irrigation in Mojomanis Village, awareness is needed from farmers for irrigation fees/pump rent. The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of farmers in Mojomanis Village, analyze the value of farmers' willingness to pay, and analyze what affects the ability of farmers to pay for irrigation services. The analysis approach of this research includes descriptive analysis, contingent valuation method, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that farmers are generally older with male farmers dominating, the majority of farmers' education level is only elementary school level, farming experience is generally 31-40 years, the land area owned by farmers is generally 0.17 hectares, the average cultivated land is owned by farmers and farmers' income is classified as moderate. The average value of willingness to pay (EWTP) of all respondents who are willing to pay for irrigation services/pump rent is in the high category and the total value of willingness to pay (TWTP) for all respondent farmers is also quite high. Factors that significantly affect the willingness to pay (WTP) of farmers are the variable number of family dependents, land area, and income of farmers.

Abstract

Increasing awareness of environmental issues, sustainable development, and the benefits of recycling underscores the significance of incorporating reverse logistics into supply chain systems. The primary objective of this study is to pinpoint the obstacles and repercussions associated with the integration of reverse logistics on the performance of supply chains by means of a methodical examination of existing literature. Employing a systematic literature review, this study scrutinized research patterns related to reverse logistics within supply chains. A total of 27 articles, spanning from 2014 to 2023, were meticulously chosen via a procedure involving identification, screening, eligibility evaluation, and analysis, with data derived from reputable sources such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. The analysis brought to light that impediments like financial constraints, inadequate understanding of reverse logistics methodologies, and absence of governmental regulations pose as major hindrances to the adoption of reverse logistics. Nonetheless, the implementation of reverse logistics has been validated to yield favorable outcomes on supply chain performance by enhancing system efficiency, cutting down expenses, boosting customer contentment, and advocating sustainable business strategies. To facilitate the execution of reverse logistics, governments ought to formulate unambiguous regulations, while enterprises can explore financial backing from investors or engage in partnerships with other stakeholders in the supply chain to secure essential funds.

Abstract

Household food security among pineapple farmers is one of the critical issues in the development of the agribusiness sector, particularly in East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan. Although pineapples are one of the region's leading commodities with a production of 336.4 tons in 2022, their contribution to improving farmer welfare remains suboptimal. This study aims to examine the existing condition of household food security among farmers, the role of gender, and the empowerment of farmers' wives in East Kotawaringin Regency. The research was conducted in five districts with the highest pineapple production using the purposive sampling method, with 296 respondents determined using the Yamane Formula. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to identify socio-economic characteristics, levels of food security, gender inclusion, and the empowerment of farmers' wives. The results show that 71.62% of pineapple farmer households fall under the food-secure category, while 23.99% are slightly food insecure, and 4.39% are moderately food insecure. The leadership dimension contributes the most to the empowerment of farmers' wives (30.97%), followed by dimensions of production, income, resources, and time. The main challenges include low education levels, limited access to agricultural extension services, and gender-based barriers. This study emphasizes the importance of inclusive policies for women's empowerment in pineapple agribusiness to enhance food security and the sustainable welfare of farmer households.

Abstract

The starfruit orchard agrotourism in Ngringinrejo Village has great potential in the agricultural sector, which can change the local area's income and environmental sustainability. Farmers in the agrotourism sell both outside and within the agrotourism. This research aims to identify the factors that influence the income of farmers in the starfruit orchard agrotourism of Ngringinrejo village. The location of this research is in Nringinrejo Village, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency. The sampling was conducted using simple random sampling, resulting in a total of 52 respondents. The data in the study uses both primary and secondary data. The analysis method uses multiple regression with the variables used in this study being X1 farmer's age, X2 number of members, X3 last education, X4 farming experience, X5 land area, X6 number of trees, X7 production costs, X8 production quantity, and X9 selling price. The results of this study indicate that from the regression results of 99%, the variable of production quantity has a significant impact on income.  The factors that have a significant influence are production costs, production volume, and selling price. Meanwhile, other factors such as age, number of family members, farming experience, land area, and number of trees do not have a significant impact on income. Based on this, cost efficiency strategies, optimization of production volume, and pricing become the main focus in increasing revenue.
