Abstract

Seni Tani is the first urban agriculture social enterprise in Bandung City that adopts the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) system, connecting consumers with farmers directly. Although there is an increasing trend in the amount of vegetable consumption in Bandung City in 2019-2023, the number of consumers who subscribe to the Seni Tani CSA program is still relatively low. However, when viewed from the number of Seni Tani Instagram followers, it is very high to become a potential members of CSA Seni Tani. This study aims to analyze the influence of 7P’s marketing mix on purchase intention through attitudes in potential members of CSA Seni Tani. This research used a quantitative research design with a questionnaire survey approach. This study used a sample of 100 people obtained through convenience sampling. The data analysis technique used in this study is a path analysis test using the SPSS version 25 program. The results of this study indicate that the marketing mix strategy is proven to have a positive and significant influence on purchase intention through attitudes of potential members. Attitude has a positive and significant direct influence on purchase intention, while the marketing mix does not have a direct influence on purchase intention, but through the mediating variable in the form of attitude.

Abstract

Local commodity-based tourism villages have the potential to support sustainable tourism by integrating economic value, cultural heritage, and community empowerment. However, many still lack a well-structured business model. This study aims to describe the business model of the Hanjeli Tourism Village in Sukabumi Regency using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach. This village promotes hanjeli (Coix lacryma-jobi) as its main attraction through a community-based educational tourism concept. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the tourism village has diverse customer segments, a unique value proposition in the form of hanjeli education and cultural preservation, and utilizes promotional channels such as social media and tourism exhibitions. The village generates revenue from various sources, including educational tourism packages, processed hanjeli products, homestay services, and donation support. Its key resources include the local community, hanjeli crops, and village infrastructure. Key activities involve education, cultivation, product processing, and promotion, supported by partnerships with government institutions, academics, and community groups. This study contributes by demonstrating how the BMC approach can be used to design an integrated business model for tourism villages based on local potential and can serve as a reference for similar tourism village development in other regions.

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) analyze the sales trend of rubber at PT XYZ; and 2) analyze the factors that influenced rubber sales at PT XYZ. The research was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025 at PT XYZ. The method used was a case study, considering that the rubber industry was facing challenges such as global market price fluctuations, climate change, and increasing competition. Analyzing sales trends and the influencing factors was important to formulate appropriate business strategies. The data used included rubber product prices, cost of goods sold, and marketing expenses. The data analysis methods employed were quantitative analysis, including trend analysis and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the variables of cost of goods sold and marketing expenses had a significant effect on the rubber sales volume, while the variable of product price did not have a significant effect. The forecasting result using the quadratic trend method indicated that the rubber sales volume for the next 18 months was estimated to reach 457,751.31 kg. The conclusion of this study highlighted the importance of cost control and marketing strategies in maintaining sales volume amid the challenges in the rubber industry.

Abstract

Sumedang Regency is one of the regions in West Java with relatively low rice production compared to Karawang, Indramayu, and Subang Regencies. The low productivity of rice farming in Sumedang presents an opportunity to introduce functional food crops as an alternative source of income for rice farmers. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of rice farmers and their current farming practices, as well as to examine their interest and likelihood of cultivating hanjeli as an alternative crop. A descriptive statistical approach was employed, using survey and questionnaire methods distributed to 65 respondents in Buahdua District, Sumedang Regency. The results indicate that the majority of rice farmers are male, aged between 40–60 years, and married. Most have completed elementary school, do not own land, and cultivate less than 0.5 hectares. Their average farming income is IDR 1.4 million per month, with an average monthly production cost of IDR 1.8 million. The findings reveal that the interest of rice farmers in cultivating hanjeli remains low. Most farmers are not yet confident in the economic potential of hanjeli as a supplementary income source. However, a small number of farmers show a potential willingness to adopt hanjeli cultivation, suggesting that with proper intervention and market support, adoption could increase over time.

Abstract

Agricultural crops are vital for local food security and rural livelihoods but face challenges such as limited access to modern agricultural inputs, soil fertility issues, and climate variability. The study objective is to assess the productivity of staple crops—rice, corn, and soybean—in Oransbari Settlement Unit, South Manokwari, West Papua. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research combines farmer surveys and official document analysis to evaluate productivity levels, economic benefit, and identify factors influencing yields. The findings reveal that farmers consider agriculture as their primary livelihood (100% for paddy, 87% for corn, 75% for soybeans). Paddy farming is traditional and labour-intensive, corn and beans are emerging as modern, flexible alternatives. Paddy farmers are active in agribusiness (100%), while corn (87%) and soybeans (75%) show some inactive participants. Most farmers have 0-10 years of experience in corn (73%) and soybeans (75%), while paddy farmers are more experienced (47% with 11-20 years, and 15% with 21-30 years). Productivity of paddy is 4.19 tons/ha while on-site productivity shown 5.87 tons/ha, corn is 5 tons/ha, and soybeans productivity is 2.43 tons/ha. Net Income of paddy is IDR 34,322,343, corn is IDR 56,019,996, and soybeans is IDR 40,282,925. Corn generates the highest income. Sustainability, inclusivity, and productivity in the farming sector dan be supported by tailored interventions. Targeted interventions to address costs, land use, and productivity gaps could improve overall sustainability and profitability across all crops.

Abstract

The fisheries sector is one of the leading sectors in Indonesia that plays an important role in driving economic growth, as well as providing an impact on society. Aquaculture commodities that have a high chance of growing include grouper. Based on preliminary studies, there are challenges faced in grouper cultivation in Lembung Village, Galis District, Pamekasan Regency, namely fish growth that is not optimal and a high mortality rate of up to 64%. Therefore, this research has the following objectives: i) analyze the feasibility of grouper farming, and ii) formulate a strategy for developing grouper farming. Data analysis methods applied include: cost analysis, total revenue analysis, income analysis and R/C ratio, and SWOT analysis. The results explained that grouper farming can be an alternative source of income for salt farmers in the face of fluctuations in salt prices due to climate change. In addition, the R/C ratio value of 1.39 shows that this business is feasible to run with the profit obtained reaching Rp.16,931,001. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, the difference between the X score of -0.30 and Y score of -0.11 is obtained, which places this business in quadrant IV, namely the W-T strategy. This strategy aims to minimize internal weaknesses and keep external threats away. Strategies that can be carried out are by providing adequate and balanced feed for fish and monitoring (W3, T3). Then improve the ability of human resources through training in grouper cultivation to increase knowledge and skills and overcome disease attacks on fish caused by parasites and pathogens (W1, W2, T1, T2, T3).
