Abstract

The role of women in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for coffee processing in Indonesia is highly significant, particularly in Nagari Koto Tuo, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra. This qualitative study aimed to identify their contributions and analyze the resulting socio-economic impacts. Nationally,  of MSME actors are women; in Koto Tuo, most coffee brand owners are women who inherited their processing skills. Employing a census approach, the research involved 160 women MSME actors, with data analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Findings indicate women play a crucial role across four aspects: production, marketing, business management, and collaboration networks. This active involvement is driven by socio-cultural factors, economic necessity (acting as the main income source), and personal characteristics (thoroughness and diligence). Their participation yields positive impacts, including enhanced social status, financial independence, and community recognition. Ultimately, women in Koto Tuo are key drivers of family welfare, community development, and successfully challenge traditional gender perceptions.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze consumers' Willingness to Pay (WTP) for imported fruits (Fuji apple, red grape, and pear) and to analyze the influence of consumer characteristics on the WTP value in the supermarkets of Semarang City. This study employed a survey method with a quota sampling technique on 150 respondents who are consumers of imported fruits in three selected supermarkets in Semarang City. Data analysis to determine the average WTP value used the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), while the influence of consumer characteristics—including age, education, income, health consciousness, and expenditure on imported fruits—was analyzed using logistic regression. The results showed that the majority of consumers were willing to pay more, with the highest average WTP increase for red grapes (13.30%), followed by Fuji apples (12.75%), and pears (10.50%). The logistic regression analysis indicated that the factors influencing WTP differed for each fruit. The WTP for Fuji apples was positively influenced by expenditure on imported fruits. The WTP for red grapes was negatively influenced by age and positively by health consciousness. Meanwhile, the WTP for pears was negatifvely influenced by age. The variables of education and income were not found to have a partially significant influence on the WTP for any of the three fruit types.

Abstract

All farmers in Pasaranom Village, Purworejo Regency, have used certified shelled corn seeds in their farming activities. However, the productivity level achieved is still not ideal, necessitating an evaluation of farmers satisfaction and identification of priority attributes for improvement. This study aims to analyze the level of farmer satisfaction and assess the importance and performance of each attribute of certified shelled corn seeds in Pasaranom Village. This quantitative research employs a survey technique. Respondents are shelled corn farmers in Pasaranom Village who have planted certified seeds at least three times and were selected using proportional random sampling. Primary data were collected through  a Likert scale (1–5) questionnaire and analyzed using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) to measure satisfaction levels and the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) to determine the importance and performance levels. Secondary data were gathered from literature studies including books and journals. The results indicated that farmers’ satisfaction falls into the moderately satisfied category with a CSI value of 63.34%. Based on  IPA analysis, four attributes were identified as priorities for improvement: seed brand quality consistency, resistance to pests and diseases, productivity in line with product claims, and selling price that meets farmers’ expectations. These findings indicate that further enhancement of seed quality and resistance is necessary to optimize the economic benefits gained from the use of certified shelled corn seeds.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extent to which the amount of feed given is related to the harvest yield of milkfish (Chanos chanos) in Lamongan Regency, using a quantitative approach. The analysis was conducted using correlation and regression methods. The results of the analysis showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.728, indicating a strong and positive relationship between the amount of feed and the harvest yield of milkfish. The t-test with a calculated t-value of 4.25 is greater than the table t-value of 2.571 at a 5% significance level, confirming the significance of the relationship. The regression equation Y = 1.0625 + 4.75X shows that each additional unit of feed increases the average yield by 4.75 units. It can be concluded that the amount of feed has a significant effect on milkfish harvest yield, so that proper feeding is the key to increasing harvest yield and the sustainability of milkfish farming in Mekuntur Village, Glagah District, Lamongan Regency.

Abstract

The study of key factors is aimed at finding out what factors have the most influence on the availability of rice, which can be used as a consideration for policy formulation to increase the availability of rice in Penajam Paser Utara (PPU). The relocation of the new Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has caused a significant increase in the number of people and affected the balance of rice availability in PPU. The analysis method used is Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) analysis by looking at the driver power (DP) and the level of dependence (D) on each variable (factor). The results of the analysis have 14 sub elements (factors) spread into independent, linkage, and dependent positions, where each position will describe the role and influence given to the availability of rice in PPU. In conclusion, the key factors in the rice supply sector (average DP=0.89 and D=0.43) include land expansion, farmer institutions, counseling, and conversion emphasis. Policy implications include land expansion through paddy field printing programs in potential areas, institutional strengthening to reduce land conversion, and effectiveness of extension activities.

Abstract

Forest Farmer Groups are part of forest-edge communities who serve as the main actors in grassroots forestry development and key targets of forestry extension programs. Understanding farmers’ responses to KTH activities is essential for evaluating the success of such initiatives. This study aimed to analyze farmers’ responses and identify challenges in implementing Forest Farmer Groups activities at Giri Jaya, Nagrog Village, Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency, conducted from September to October 2025. The study applied a scoring system (1–3) to measure response levels—high, medium, and low. A census method was used to include all 20 KTH Giri Jaya members as respondents. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and literature review. The findings revealed that KTH Giri Jaya successfully enhanced farmers’ knowledge and attitudes, as reflected in high average scores of 34.80 and 18.85, respectively. These results indicate that participatory extension effectively fostered motivation and social responsibility among members. However, technical skills remained moderate (13.20), highlighting the need for more practical training and mentoring. Overall, the total response score (66.85) demonstrated a strong positive impact of KTH activities on farmer capacity building. Nonetheless, continuous learning through training and “learning by doing” is required to strengthen technical competence. The main challenges faced were uneven input distribution and the dry season, which affected work performance and reduced seedling quality.

Abstract

Farmer groups that actively role as vehicles for learning, vehicles for cooperation, and production units play a significant role in enhancing agricultural output through efficient management practices and the adoption of innovations. An increase in production serves as a key indicator for improving the productivity of farming enterprises. This research aims to analyze the influence of farmer group roles comprising vehicles for learning, vehicles for cooperation, and production units along with farmer characteristics including age, education, farming experience, and land tenure status, on the productivity of rice farming. The research was conducted from February to April 2025 in Karanganom Village, Weleri Subdistrict, Kendal Regency, employing a survey method. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS Statistics 27. The results of the research indicate that all variables collectively have a significant effect on rice farm productivity, suggesting that simultaneous changes in these variables can either enhance or reduce productivity. Partially, the variables of vehicles for learning, production unit, age, education, farming experience, and land status were found to significantly influence productivity, whereas the vehicles for cooperation variable did not exhibit a significant partial effect. Among these, the production unit variable demonstrated the most dominant partial influence, highlighting the critical role of improving and expanding production units in positively driving rice farm productivity.
