Abstract

Indonesia's economic structure, which is still dominated by the primary sector, particularly agriculture, presents its own challenges in promoting sustainable economic growth, especially amid the dynamics of global trade. This study aims to analyze the impact of the agricultural sector's contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the proportion of the workforce in the agricultural sector, and trade openness on Indonesia's economic growth. The method used is a quantitative approach with secondary data from the World Bank for the period 1991–2023. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression supported by classical assumption testing to ensure the validity of the estimation model. The results of the study indicate that the contribution of the agricultural sector and trade openness have a negative impact on economic growth, while the proportion of agricultural labor has a significant positive impact. These findings reflect the need to improve the quality and productivity of the agricultural labor force as a driver of growth, as well as the importance of formulating trade policies that support the strengthening of the domestic sector. This study makes an important contribution to the formulation of inclusive, sustainable economic development policies based on structural transformation of the agricultural sector.

Abstract

This study analyzes the internal and external factors that influence the production of Dendrobium orchid seedlings and provides strategic recommendations to address these challenges. The SWOT analysis is applied to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats affecting production and partnerships. Quantitative data from the IFE and EFE matrices are then used to determine the company’s strategic position through the IE matrix. Based on this position, the QSPM method helps formulate and prioritize the most effective and efficient production strategies. The results indicate that PT Grenpace possesses strengths in tissue culture technology mastery, high product quality, and an extensive plasma partnership network. The company, however, faces several weaknesses such as dependence on plasma partners, high production costs, and limited promotion activities. External opportunities that can be leveraged include government support for the agribusiness sector, increasing trends in ornamental plant demand, and potential export markets. Nonetheless, the company also faces threats from business competition, regulatory changes, and dependence on skilled labor. Through the IFE and EFE matrix analysis, scores of 3.90 and 3.50 were obtained, indicating that the company is positioned in quadrant 1 of the IE matrix, categorized as the “grow and build” position. The prioritized strategy is the SO strategy, which utilizes the company’s strengths to seize market opportunities. The formulated strategies include strengthening marketing and technology-based market expansion, optimizing government support for funding and program access, and developing innovative products along with expanded distribution. Based on the QSPM matrix calculation, the strategy of strengthening marketing and technology-based market expansion was selected as the top priority, with the highest Total Attractiveness Score (TAS) of 5.607. This strategy is considered the most suitable to support PT Grenpace’s long-term growth and competitiveness.

Abstract

Sidamukti Village is one of the main centers for the cultivation of gedong gincu mangoes in Majalengka Regency. However, recently the mango farmers in the village have faced challenges of limited capital due to the unstable productivity of gedong gincu mangoes. This limitation in capital impacts the use of whatever funds are available in the following season. To address these issues, farmers need to seek alternative financing sources that can optimally support their capital needs. This research aims to find out the capital structure of farmers, the sources and types of agricultural financing, and the accessibility of farmers to financial institutions. The sampling method used in this study is saturated sampling, where all members of the population are used as samples, totaling 30 respondents. The analytical methods used are descriptive analysis and difference test analysis. The research results show that the capital structure of farmers in the Ciandeu Farmers Group consists of self capital comprising 20 respondents or 67%, while 10 respondents or 33% use borrowed capital. The funding sources for farmers in the Ciandeu Farmers Group include KUR Bank BRI, middlemen, and family loans. Farmers' accessibility to financing institutions is quite easy, especially for those borrowing from formal institutions such as banks, due to the existence of unlimited loans, predetermined interest rates, and flexibility in repayment. However, the problem is different for new farmers who experience difficulties in obtaining loans from financial institutions. After analysis using difference tests, there were no significant differences in accessibility among the three financing groups. However, in general, the majority of farmers prefer to go through formal institutions.

Abstract

Tobacco farming remains a primary source of livelihood for farmers in Kadakajaya Village, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency. However, income from tobacco alone is insufficient to meet household needs, as it only provides returns once a year. Moreover, tobacco farmers only get income from tobacco farming once a year. In fact, household expenses are incurred every day, every week, and sometimes there is a very urgent time before the harvest arrives, both expenses in the form of production costs and daily needs. The household economy is a complex and interconnected system so that the system thinking approach can be applied to analyze the dynamics of the household economy of tobacco farmers, which is visualized using the causal loop diagram (CLD) analysis tool. The results of the study showed that the five tobacco farmer households have income outside of tobacco farming to meet their household needs; each household has a different behavioral patterns of income, expenses, and household cash. Although tobacco farmers say that their household needs are still lacking to meet daily needs, tobacco farmer households are above the poverty line. Based on the research results, the suggestions that can be recommended are that each household should record finances separately between household finances and farming, tobacco farmers are expected to be able to utilize time outside of farming to diversify income, and this study still has limitations in the number of informants and the scope of the area so that further researchers are expected to be able to develop this study with a wider number of respondents and coverage area.

Abstract

Sambas Regency is one of the rice producing areas in West Kalimantan with a fairly high rice production. However, the dynamics of consumer behavior in choosing and purchasing rice, especially in traditional markets, have not been studied scientifically. Amidst competition between local rice and rice from outside the region, understanding consumer preferences is important to support the sustainability of the local rice market and the formulation of food distribution policies. This study aims to identify consumer preferences in rice purchasing decisions in traditional markets in Sambas Regency. This study was conducted using a survey method. Samples were taken using accidental sampling from 100 rice consumers in traditional markets in Sambas Regency. Data processing was carried out descriptively, using Fishbein's multi-attribute analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the stages of the rice purchasing decision process in traditional markets in Sambas Regency go through the stages of recognizing needs, gathering information, evaluating alternatives, and making purchasing decisions. The main attributes considered in consumer preferences related to rice purchases in traditional markets in Sambas Regency are price, color, and package size, while aroma, texture, and shape have a relatively lower influence.

Abstract

Dekat Tea is a tea shop in Bandung offering a variety of quality teas. Despite the growing trend of tea consumption and limited competition in the city, Dekat Tea faces significant fluctuations in monthly income. This study aims to explore the consumer purchasing decision-making process and its characteristics, using a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with 50 consumers. The results show that the majority of consumers are women aged 17–25 with high school/vocational school and undergraduate degrees, and are from the middle class. The purchasing decision process is influenced by internal (health benefits) and external (social media) factors, with TikTok as the primary source of information. During the evaluation stage, consumers tend to consider product aspects, location, and price. Purchase decisions are generally driven by the product selection offered by Dekat Tea, its strategic location, and trust in the brand. Most consumers are satisfied and willing to make repeat purchases or provide recommendations. These findings suggest the importance of optimizing social media, especially TikTok, as a promotional medium, innovating product variants according to young consumers' preferences, and diversifying sales channels to increase brand visibility and maintain revenue stability.

Abstract

Wheat development in Indonesia continues to face various technical and non-technical challenges, including agroecological constraints, low farmer interest, limited access to capital, and market uncertainty. These conditions highlight the importance of strong institutional support through multi-stakeholder partnership models. This study aims to analyze partnership models, key actors involved, their strategic roles, and their relationship with farmers’ interest in developing wheat cultivation in Indonesia. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining peer-reviewed articles indexed in Scopus published between 2010 and 2025. The literature selection process followed systematic stages, including identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and in-depth analysis of relevant studies. The findings reveal that successful wheat development requires integrated partnership models involving farmers, government agencies, processing industries, financial institutions, research institutes, universities, and cooperatives. Partnerships play a crucial role in technology provision, capacity building, access to finance, market assurance, risk management, and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, partnerships that provide price certainty, technology transfer, and institutional support are shown to enhance farmers’ motivation and participation in wheat cultivation. This study concludes that a coordinated and sustainable multi-actor partnership model is a key prerequisite for promoting national wheat development and reducing dependence on wheat imports.
