Abstract

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) measures technical efficiency every single of production decision-making units (DMU) in a population. This analysis produces parameters in the form of an inefficiency index that can be used to rank the performance of each DMU. This study tries to apply the above method to dairy farms that are members of a cooperative, aiming to obtain a measure of the technical efficiency index of the observed sample farms and then test how close the relationship is between the efficiency index and other parameters, namely  farm size or the number of dairy cows and income based on the income over feed cost measure (IOFC). The research was conducted using a survey approach among KPBS Pangalengan dairy cooperative members. The survey applied multi-stage sampling to select randomly 95 farmers sample of the cooperative members. Data analysis used Stata 17 software. The results showed that the relative technical efficiency index for dairy farming spread from the lowest, namely 0.2 to 1 (fully efficient); overall, the distribution of the efficiency index followed a distribution next to the standard curve. 13.7% of farmers achieved full efficiency  The research results show that IOFC ranges from IDR 527,821 to IDR 260,462,313/year, and the scale of cattle ownership ranges from 1 to 15 cows. The variations in these two parameters have a significant positive correlation. Farmers with a large dairy farm size and IOFC tend to have a high-efficiency index, with strong and weak levels of closeness (r = 0.609 and r = 0.356).

Abstract

The minapolitan area comprises one or several centers of rural production activities such as fishery production systems and management of specific natural resources and agribusiness. Regional functional connectivity and hierarchy in spatial units are the most important in maintaining administrative, institutional, and business systems. In the Decree of the Minister of Number KEP.32/MEN/2010 and the Decree of the Regent of Indramayu Number 523/Kep. 24-Diskanla/2011, Indramayu Regency was designated as the location for constructing the Minapolis area. Indramayu Regency is an area that has excellent potential for fisheries and marine production, with a production yield of over 150,000 tons per year. However, this situation is not matched by the availability of adequate infrastructure with a lack of supporting infrastructure in the Minapolitan area, where downstream production is growing. The purpose of this study is to assess the infrastructure of the Minapolitan area as a basis for developing the infrastructure of the Minapolitan area in the form of development directions. The method used is mixed, where the analysis is based on quantitative aspects while strengthening the justification is carried out qualitatively. The results obtained from this study show that the development of regional productivity development needs to be integrated with an adequate infrastructure development plan. Infrastructure development is based on the partial needs of fishermen groups and sector authorities that handle them. The grand design of the Minapolitan area is not carried out by the local government either with a cooperation scheme or a vertical assistance scheme. Infrastructure development is carried out with the capacity of the district government itself. Therefore, priority infrastructure deficiencies include fish seed centers, hatcheries, springs, cold storage, fish auctions, and accessibility between regions.

Abstract

Jimbaran and Bandungan markets are two large traditional markets around Semarang Regency. Jimbaran market is a village market that residents use for trading, while Bandungan market is a market close to tourist areas. The research objective is to analyze the difference in income earned by vegetable traders at Jimbaran market and Bandungan market, Bandungan District, Semarang Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey techniques to collect data through interviews with 15 vegetable traders in the Jimbaran market and 15 in the Bandungan market. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling: traders trading for at least five years sold four types of vegetables (carrots, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes) and did not sell necessities. The analysis technique uses revenue analysis formulas, costs, income, and independent t-tests. The results of the research found that there was a significant difference between the income of vegetable traders in the Jimbaran market and those selling in Bandungan, shown by a significance value of 0.00, where the income of traders in the Bandungan market is higher than the Jimbaran market. The average income of vegetable traders in the Jimbaran market is IDR. 861.933,33 per week, while vegetable traders in the Bandungan market earn an average income of IDR 1.584.333,33 per week. The difference in income between the two is Rp. 722.400,00. The differences in income are partly due to the influence of the location of the Bandungan market near tourist areas.

Abstract

Agro-small industry entrepreneurs as a social group are integrated into a social structure. In sociological studies, the presence of this group of entrepreneurs also shows their social structure. To better understand the social reality of entrepreneurs in carrying out their production processes, the concept of Production Mode is known. This research aims to explore the production modes that occur in the next generation of small agro industries in East Priangan. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected by interviewing four owners of the next generation of small agro industries who have survived across generations. Thematic analysis with N-vivo version 12 software was used to analyze the data obtained. This research reveals that there is more than one mode of production that coexists in agro-small industries in East Priangan, so the concept of social formation is more appropriate to use. The social formations most commonly found in the third generation are "modern commercial hybrid" and "commercial".

Abstract

This study analyzes differences in consumer characteristics based on taste preferences for Walini teabags in Bandung City. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method at Borma Supermarket, Panyileukan District, samples were selected by systematic random sampling during May 2024. Data were analyzed descriptively and using cross tabulation. The results showed that Walini teabag in Wangi flavor was most preferred by 20% of respondents, with the majority of respondents being female (60%) aged 40-49 years. Preference for Wangi flavor was also dominant across employment and education categories, but in the income category, preference was split between Wangi flavor and classic black tea. These findings emphasize the importance of packaging design in influencing purchasing decisions, as well as the need for more in-depth analysis of product attributes to understand consumer preferences more comprehensively.

Abstract

Indonesia and Japan have different potentials and uniqueness, but the value of agricultural exports, industrial added value and globalization will still cause environmental degradation. This study aims to find out how globalization, agricultural exports and industrial value added have an impact on environmental sustainability. In particular, were proposed using secondary data, from 1990 to 2020. The model was estimated using the ARDL procedure. The result, in the short term social globalization in Japan has a positive and significant impact on increasing CO2 emissions from the use of on-farm energy (EMS). Likewise, the added value of the agricultural industry can exacerbate the increase in EMS both in the short and long term. Meanwhile, the added value of agriculture in the short term can reduce EMS, a significance of 5%. However, in the long run the added value of the industry can reduce EMS, a significance of 5%. In contrast, with Indonesia in the short term agricultural exports have a positive and significant impact on EMS. While added value in the short term and in the long term can reduce EMS, a significance of 5%. However, SG in the long run will exacerbate EMS. Therefore, we propose recommendation to improve this condition, including a clear roadmap, increased partnerships, and regional and international support in order to produce policies that are able to preserve the environment, especially in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

The community in Jeruju Besar Village has been engaged in coconut farming for generations. The income of coconut farmers' families does not solely come from coconut farming, but also from other sources of income. This is because coconut farmers harvest their coconuts every three months. As the coconut trees age and their production declines, the income of the coconut farmers also decreases. The purpose of this study is to explore the extent of income derived from coconut farming and its contribution to the family income. Data collected from the field will be organized into tables and analyzed using a descriptive quantitative method, which involves using numbers to be interpreted, analyzed, and concluded to describe the research object. All necessary information to measure the contribution of coconut farming to the overall family income is presented through simple contribution tables. The results of the study in Jeruju Besar Village concluded that the average income received by coconut farmers over three months is approximately Rp. 3,294,571.00, or equivalent to Rp. 4,640,240.00 per hectare, with the contribution percentage of coconut farming to household income being 31.03%, which falls into the low category. It is important to provide counseling on maintenance, fertilizer and pesticide assistance, as well as care for old coconut trees to farmers in order to increase coconut production.
