<![CDATA[The Muqaddaman Tradition in Banjaragung Village, Bangsri District, Jepara Regency: A Study of the Living Qur'anMuqaddaman is an activity of reading the Qur'an which is carried out collectively, in which each individual receives a division of juz from 1 to 30 which is divided randomly according to their respective rations. Muqaddaman is a tradition that has been widely practiced by the Muslim community. This study aims to reveal the aspects of the living Qur’an in the muqaddaman tradition in Banjaragung village through a descriptive-inductive method with Max Weber's theory of social action as the analytical tool. This study seeks to answer how Max Weber's point of view on social action towards the muqaddaman tradition is in Banjaragung village. The results of this study are: First, this tradition is a part of the study of the living Qur’an. Second, based on the type of traditional action, traditional actors want to carry out Islamic religious symbols as traditions that have been carried out by scholars from generation to generation. Third, affective action shows that the perpetrators of the action have an emotional bond with religious leaders and the time of execution (Thursday). Fourth, in term of rational instrumental action, the actors can carry out the tradition rationally and consciously, both from the financial aspect and human resources. Fifth, in term of value rationality, actors want to emulate the behaviour of religious figures, to get used to giving alms, and to instil the value of member solidarity]]>

<![CDATA[The interpretation of the Qur’an with Qaul al-ṣaḥābah is a product of classical scholars. Interpretation with Qaul al-ṣaḥābah is considered as a very representative explanation of the truth of the understanding of the Qur’an because they are still meeting with the Prophet Muḥammad so that there are not many deviations. But this method of interpretation is often forgotten in the writing of tafsīr. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the process of interpretation of the Qur’an conducted by ṣaḥābah. This article is a research library with a descriptive approach to collect documentation data from various articles, books then analyzed by content analysis. The results of this research are the strengths of Tafsīr al-Ṣaḥābah are that they are neutral regardless of political interests or schools of thought, are free from the history of isrā’iliyyāt, and no difference. While its weakness is not yet interpreted broadly and in detail, it is still partial and free of critical nature. In some instances in the current era, it is possible to make laws based on Qaul al-ṣaḥābah as one of the sources of Islamic law. The similarity of this research with previous research is to discuss the interpretation of Qaul al-Ṣhaḥābah, including the characteristics and instruments and examples of interpretations of the Qur’an carried out by Ṣaḥābah, such as Ibn’ Abbās, Ibn Masʻūd, ‘Āisyah, Abū Hurairah and ‘Alī bin Abī Ṭālib. While the difference is this research found the strengths and weaknesses of the interpretation of Qaul al-Ṣhaḥābah. <![CDATA[Renewal of Islamic Thought: A Construction of Qur'an-Hadith scholarly intellectualismThis research is a construction of Islamic thought reform in the case of the Qur’anic and Hadith studies. It aims at mapping the construction of intellectualism in the Qur’an and Hadith scholarship. Descriptive-analytic method is used in this study, tracing the renewal of Islamic thought in history. This study finds that rhetorical Islamic scholarship dominated the discourse and practice of Islamic teachings and scholarship. In other words, with the addition of Salafi Islamic langue structure, the task of renewing Islamic thought confronts the hermeneutics of Islamic orthodoxy along with the institutions and agencies that support it. This results in the task of renewing Islamic thought not easily. Various attempts have been made and are being pursued by Islamic renewal thinkers with three variations of expressions and proposals for renewal. <![CDATA[Structuralization of Takwil in The Interpretation of The Mutasyābihāt Verse: Study of the Book of al-Tafsīr Al-Munīr by Wahbah Al-ZuĥailiThe interpretation of al-Qur’an as a tool in explaining Islam needs to be interpreted comprehensively. Combining the understanding of structuralization in the interpretation process is one of the efforts used by many interpreters of the Qur’an to interpret the verses of the Qur’an, such as Wahbah al-Zuĥaili. He is one of the interpreters who pays attention to the process of interpreting mutasyābihāt verses in his work al-Tafsīr al-Munīr. This study aims to analyze the process of structuralization of takwīl used by Wahbah al-Zuĥaili for the mutasyābihāt verses in the book al-Tafsīr al-Munīr. This is qualitative research with a linguistic approach that includes text and context study. The main data used is al-Tafsīr al-Munīr and supported by other books and scientific literature. Then, data were analyzed using content analysis. The study indicates that Wahbah al-Zuĥaili in doing takwīl on mutasyābihāt verses in al-Tafsīr al-Munīr pays great attention to the use of grammatical language combined with the meaning of the verse so as to produce new meanings that are in accordance with the needs of society at that time and modern society today. In addition, the incorporation of this understanding of structuralization has been able to break the monotony qur’anic interpretation today.]]>

<![CDATA[Implementation of Martin Heidegger's Hermeneutic Thought in the Study of Quranic InterpretationThis article examines Martin Heidegger's hermeneutical thinking and its relevance in the discourse on the science of Qur'anic interpretation. This research was designed with qualitative methods and included in library research. The analysis used by the researcher is data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. From the study conducted, it can be seen that: 1) Heidegger's metaphysical deconstruction project begins with a realignment of the most basic of metaphysics, namely the question of being; 2) Heidegger is able to include hermeneutics as part of the study of philosophy, precisely as a form of methodical response in which the subject-object perspective must be objectified through a mode of understanding the world above the consciousness of the subject, so as not to produce a rigid and black-and-white understanding of reality-as stated by Wilhem Dilthey with his Geisteswissencheften and Naturwissencheften; 3) Regarding the integration of hermeneutics into the study of the Qur'an, some of Heidegger's thoughts are considered applicable to open horizons regarding the reality of the interpretation of the Qur'an itself. Regarding the facticity or flux experienced by dasein, it gives us an understanding that the socio-cultural conditions in which dasein lives can affect the formation of human understanding (interpreter), which in the study of interpretation is accommodated with the term pre-understanding or mahaula al-mufassir. The theory about the temporality of dasein at least inspires Muslim thinkers to continue to carry out interpretive activities in order to present religious dictums that have relevance to different social conditions between dasein]]>

Quraish ShihabThe search for the idea of tolerance in the interpretation of the Qur'an which is popular in Indonesia is an important thing to do, given the condition of the pluralistic Indonesian nation. This study explores the local context of Indonesian textually in the interpretation of al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab. This study was conducted through a textual analysis of the interpretation. The focus of this study is on the interpretation of the verses of tolerance in Tafsir Al-Mishbah, especially on five things: the interaction of believers and non-believers, coercion in religion, living together with people of different religions, the existence of people of the book [Ahl al-Kitab], and Islam as a mercy to the universe. This study finds that the local Indonesian context contained in this interpretation is in the translation and interpretation written in Indonesian. Although it is aimed at Muslims in general, it is clear that Muslims in Indonesia are part of the target. <![CDATA[Problems with the Meaning of the Al-Quran in Conventional Interpretation MethodsThis article explores the deviations in meaning in the interpretation of the Qur'an resulting from the use of conventional methods of interpretation, and what causes these deviations. This study is a literature review using descriptive-analytical method. The findings indicate that the interpretation resulting from the use of conventional interpretation methods has causes that make the results of the interpretation of the Koran deviate. There are two categories of causes, namely; underlying causes and specific causes. The basic cause of the deviation occurs because the requirements and standards for interpretation are not fulfilled optimally and consistently. The causes specifically for these deviations are related to the factors of interpretation deviation in the al-ma'tsur, al-ra'yu and al-isyari approaches. Knowledge of the causes of deviations in the meaning of the Qur'an can be a separate part of conventional interpretation methods]]>

<![CDATA[Categorization of the Meaning of Lafadz Nazhara in Surah Al-Naml from the Perspective of Mustafa Al-MaraghiThis study aimed to determine the meaning of lafaz nazhara in Surah An-Naml according to Ahmad Musthafa al-Maraghi, in his book that titled Tafsr Al-Marâghî. This research is a library research that uses a qualitative approach. The analysis technique used is content analysis using the thematic method. The data of this study were taken from the Tafsr Al-Marâghî book on the word of nazhara in the surah An-Naml. This study concluded that, Ahmad Musthafa al-Maraghi categorizes the meaning of lafadz nazhara in An-Naml's letter into three categories, namely; first, word nazhara spoken by Allah SWT to disbelievers means an order to pay attention to the power of Allah SWT, as well as a threat from Allah SWT for their disbeliefer, second, word nazhara spoken by fellow humans who have the same level, meaning as an order to consider decisions, and can also be used as a test to find out the truth, while the third, word nazhara which are spoken by fellow creatures but have different positions, that is, to test someone's honesty, and can also be a command to understand some information]]>

<![CDATA[The Meaning of the Hadiths of Jihad in the VOA ISLAM Website and its Relevance to Indonesian Islamic DiscourseThis paper aims to determine the meaning of jihad hadiths on website and their relevance to Indonesian Islamic discourse. This is based on the phenomenon in which the current era of jihad hadith is often interpreted textually because it only relies on an understanding that is physical or literal. While the actual understanding of hadith is not that simple, it involves checking the sanad (transmission of hadith) and matan. If sanad and matan of a hadith are considered authentic, the next step is the use of fiqh al-hadith as a method for understanding a hadith by involving the socio-historical side and contextualizing meaning. Today, websites often used as references as legal references or solutions to various problems of Muslims. One of them is website which contains a lot of Islamic discourse that contains hadith, one of which is the hadith about jihad. This research is a qualitative research in the form of library research with descriptive analysis method. The meaning applied by website in understanding jihad hadiths is textually (haqiqi), that the word jihad in the hadith is understood more about war. The relevance of the meaning of jihad hadiths on website , especially on the meaning of war jihad, is irrelevant to Indonesian Islam. This is based on the situation and conditions of religious and state life in Indonesia which upholds peace. Moreover, the identity of Indonesian Islam is Islam wasathiyah (moderate), which leans on the principles of tawasuth, tawazun, ta'adul and tasamuh which cover various aspects of life.]]>

<![CDATA[Appropriation of the Mappanre Temme Tradition before Marriage in the Bugis Society (Study of Living Quran)The strong interaction of the Bugis community with the Qur'an as a guide for the life of every Muslim is imprinted on one of its traditions, named mappanre temme tradition. This article aims to analyze in depth-analysis the ritual practice of mappanre temme in the traditions of the Bugis people which includes form, existence, and transformation that are associated with the perspective of living quran study with stages: exegesis, functional and aesthetic. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection method applied observation, interviews, and literature studies. The observations were made to observe social symptoms related to the mappanre temme tradition. The processing data with following stages; coding, categorization, and tabulation. Data analysis techniques in the form of reduction, display, and verification by taking the data source of Jampue community informants in Kabupaten Pinrang. The results showed that the process of transforming the mappanre temme tradition for the bride and groom before the wedding in the Bugis society means exegesis, namely giving the bride and groom a lucky path in their life journey; has a functional meaning, namely sennusenungeng or a goodness that brings blessings will occur in the future and assalamakeng or safety in navigating the household ark; and has an aesthetic meaning, namely that the Qur'an is a living adornment for the morals that are built up in the lives of the bride and groom and their families, rejecting calamities and disasters, and making a household full of fortune, living comfortably, and peacefully.]]>
