Abstract

Local Context in Interpreting Tolerance Verses in the Book of Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish ShihabThe search for the idea of tolerance in the interpretation of the Qur'an which is popular in Indonesia is an important thing to do, given the condition of the pluralistic Indonesian nation. This study explores the local context of Indonesian textually in the interpretation of al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab. This study was conducted through a textual analysis of the interpretation. The focus of this study is on the interpretation of the verses of tolerance in Tafsir Al-Mishbah, especially on five things: the interaction of believers and non-believers, coercion in religion, living together with people of different religions, the existence of people of the book [Ahl al-Kitab], and Islam as a mercy to the universe. This study finds that the local Indonesian context contained in this interpretation is in the translation and interpretation written in Indonesian. Although it is aimed at Muslims in general, it is clear that Muslims in Indonesia are part of the target. In the context of pluralism, the writing of this commentary is also intended to ground the Qur'an to a pluralistic society

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the history of fatwas on Muslim-Non-Muslim relations issued by the Bahthul Masa'il Institute (LBM) of Nahdlatul Ulama from 1926 to 2019. This research is a type of qualitative research focused on studying LBM written materials. The perspective used is the Study of Religion with a theoretical analysis from Joachim Wach regarding the forms of expression of religious experience, especially in the sociological form. This study finds that, historically, NU issued fatwas by considering such sociological aspects that taghayyur (law change) method is used in law enforcement. By adhering to this principle, NU has formulated fatwas to maintain Muslim-non-Muslim relations under the umbrella of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In this regard, NU argues that non-Muslims in Indonesia cannot be categorized in terms of the infidel in the nation-state because non-Muslim citizens in the nation-state context are not second-class citizens as contained in the concept of infidel with various types. The implication is the increasing quality of inter-religious relations that are increasingly harmonious in a plural society.

Abstract

This study discusses how religious development in Indonesia has resulted in switching the function of purity to non-purity in religious practices. Using a phenomenological approach, this review finds that some Muslims maintain their purity for various reasons, but some mix their beliefs with the local culture. This situation leads to the following study on a macro scale about Islam's indigenization in Indonesia's cultural landscape. This study found a relatively high cultural acculturation between Islam as a global religion and local Indonesian culture. The community reinforces this acculturation by promoting traditional leaders and the need for a sense of security that has been embedded in local communities.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the hadiths about Muslims and other Muslims with a philosophical approach to carbon chemistry. The study of Islamic character values contained in carbon chemistry has been carried out by exploring the philosophical charges in the material, the specificity of carbon atoms, bonds in carbon compounds, classification, and reactions in carbon compounds. This study integrates Islamic character values to reinforce and reinforce the main ideas raised in carbon chemistry. The methods used are takhrij and sharah hadith which use content analysis techniques, analysis with a philosophical approach, analysis with a triadic model, and analysis with confirmation patterns. The results obtained from this study are: (1) remembrance of Allah SWT in the specificity of the carbon atom with 4 valence electrons; (2) maintaining the relationship of the patentable properties of the carbon atom; (3) happy to give charity and help from carbon chemical bonds; (4) be wise and fair when encountering differences in the classification of carbon compounds; (5) improve themselves and leave things that are not useful from the substitution reaction; (6) sincere in helping others from addiction reactions; and (7) patience and surrender to Allah SWT from the reaction of elimination. This study concludes that the concepts that apply in carbon compounds can be related to the values of Islamic character education based on takhrij and sharah hadith with a carbon chemistry approach.
