Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of STEM education in developing spatial thinking skills in elementary school students. The study employs a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group that received STEM intervention and a control group following the standard curriculum. The results indicate that the experimental group experienced significant improvements in visualization, spatial relationship understanding, and spatial object manipulation compared to the control group. These improvements are primarily to technology, such as 3D simulations and design software, which help students comprehend complex spatial concepts. Further statistical analysis supports these findings, showing significant differences between the experimental and control groups. These findings underscore the importance of integrating STEM education into the curriculum to enhance students' spatial skills, which are critical in various science and technology disciplines. However, challenges in implementation, such as a need for more resources and teacher training, must be addressed to ensure the program's effectiveness across different educational contexts.

Abstract

Science literacy skill is one of the 21st-century skills that a person must master to adapt to the changing dynamics of life. However, the level of science literacy among students in Indonesia remains low. Therefore, this research develops e-module that utilizes the potential of Kemiri Village to enhance students' science literacy skill. This research aims to describe the validity and readability of local potential-based e-module. The stages of e-module development are adapted from the ADDIE model, but only up to the development stage. The subjects of this research consist of 3 science teachers and 10 ninth-grade students from SMP Negeri 1 Panti. Based on the results of the validity test, the local potential-based e-module has a very valid category with content and construct validity percentages of 89.58% and 92.16%, respectively. The readability level of this e-module is also very good with a percentage of 90.94%. From the research conducted, it can be concluded that the local potential-based e-module is easy to understand and suitable for application in the science learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance teacher competency in developing differentiated learning modules at SMP Negeri I Kemang. The study used a school action research method, involving 28 subject teachers, with data collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The collected data was processed and analyzed descriptively statistically to assess the teacher competence level in each research cycle. Findings revealed that some teachers had not prepared learning modules or followed the module flow. To address these issues, coaching, counseling, and mentoring were provided. Results showed an overall improvement in teacher performance, with notable competency increases from cycle I to cycle II. Despite this progress, some teachers still require further attention. The study highlights the need for ongoing support and supervision of differentiated teaching modules to enhance learning quality and student outcomes. The research demonstrates that improving teacher competency in module development positively impacts learning quality and student achievement. Continuous efforts and support are essential for sustained improvement. These findings can guide schools and stakeholders in enhancing educational quality.

Abstract

The existence of individuality challenges, student characteristics based on diverse learning styles, and differences in the level of student understanding in mathematics, more innovative media are needed. Learning media in the form of mobile applications plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of mathematics learning, especially based on student learning styles. The aim of this research was to assess the development process, validity, and practicality of the Math DiffeLearn mobile application. The research method employed in this research is research and development using the ADDIE development model. The results of the study include: (a) the development process produces Math DiffeLearn mobile application products that can be applied to the learning process of grade VII junior high school mathematics, (b) the validity of the product is validated with a percentage of 76.25% by material expert 1, a percentage of 75% by material expert 2, and a percentage of 73.75% by media experts, (c) the practicality of the product is declared "very practical" or "very feasible" practicality with a percentage of 95% by practicing mathematics teachers and a percentage of 88.71% by students. In conclusion, the Math DiffeLearn mobile application has been tested valid and can be practically applied as a learning media on social arithmetic material for grade VII junior high school, especially based on student learning styles.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perilaku siswa kelas IV yang masih melakukan prokrastinasi akademik pada pembelajaran matematika. Perilaku tersebut jika dibiarkan dapat memberikan dampak buruk bagi siswa yang melakukannya. Oleh karena itu, prokrastinasi akademik perlu diminimalisir dengan penerapan regulasi diri dalam belajar. Akan tetapi, penerapan tersebut memerlukan bantuan guru di sekolah. Sehingga diperlukan upaya guru untuk meningkatkan regulasi diri siswa pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menguraikan bentuk prokrastinasi akademik, regulasi diri yang dilakukan, serta upaya guru yang diterapkan kepada siswa dalam meningkatkan regulasi diri agar prokrastinasi akademik pada pembelajaran matematika dapat berkurang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari empat orang siswa, yang dikelompokkan menjadi siswa prokrastinator dan non prokrastinator, serta seorang guru wali kelas IV. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Miles dan Huberman dengan empat tahapan, yaitu mengumpulkan, mereduksi, menyajikan, serta menarik kesimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini di antaranya: 1) bentuk prokrastinasi siswa prokrastinator termasuk ke dalam decisional procrastination, dengan ciri siswa lupa dengan tugas, tidak memahami pelajaran, dan tidak memiliki inisiatif bertanya; 2) regulasi diri yang dilakukan siswa prokrastinator masih belum maksimal dibandingkan dengan siswa non prokrastinator; dan 3) upaya yang dilakukan guru pada siswa prokrastinator maupun non prokrastinator sama, yaitu upaya pencegahan dengan melakukan asesmen diagnostik terlebih dahulu, kemudian diberikan motivasi, lalu upaya pengembangan dengan pemberian reward pada saat pengerjaan tugas berlangsung, serta upaya penyembuhan masalah selalu konsisten untuk memberikan motivasi kapanpun saat dibutuhkan.

Abstract

Teacher performance uncertainty rumors occurs because of the frequent curriculum changes. This research aims to find the evidence of primary school teachers' readiness to face curriculum changes. The method of this research is quantitative descriptive with deductive analysis. The results show three evidence of primary school teachers' readiness for curriculum changes, such as: a) it is proven that almost every five years, the curriculum changed which is not ideal for teacher’s period in carrier; b) the ambiguity data of psychological readiness for primary school teachers towards curriculum changes was found between 53.5% and 46.5%; c) research proven that the effectiveness of the three learning domains exceeds 70% occurs because curriculum changes. This research also provides recommendations for a more meaningful curriculum change process. Through this research, it is hoped that rumors of teacher performance uncertainty can be scientifically proven and to be continued in finding solutions for improvement through recommendations that have been made.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether pop-up book media is feasible to use in problem-based learning; whether pop-up book media can be trusted for problem-based learning and whether pop-up book media in problem-based learning can improve learning outcomes of grade III elementary school students. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Salatiga with research subjects of grade III students totaling 90 students with details of 20 students in individual trials, 30 students in limited trials and 40 students in broad implementation tests. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, implementation, Evaluating. Validation by expert lecturers and implementation test to students.  Data collection techniques with tests and questionnaires, with instruments in the form of items and questionnaire sheets. This research resulted in: 1) pop-up book media that is feasible to use in problem-based learning as indicated by validation of 0.4438; 0.361; and 0.321; 2) pop-up book media can be trusted for problem-based learning as indicated by alpha = 0, 848 ˃ 0.600 which means very reliable and pop-up book media in problem-based learning can improve the learning outcomes of grade III elementary school students as indicated by the completeness of learning from pre-cycle of 30%, cycle 1 67% and cycle II 87%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan sikap sosial emosional EMC2 (Emphaty, Mindfulness, Compassion, Critical Inquiry) dan memotret proses penerapan pendekatan pada psychological well-being dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Dengan mengimplementasikan EMC2, diharapkan siswa dapat mengembangkan kemampuan sosial dan emosional yang berdampak positif pada kesejahteraan psikologis mereka. Metode observasi digunakan untuk memantau interaksi sosial dan respon emosional siswa selama pembelajaran, sedangkan wawancara dilakukan untuk mendapatkan pandangan mendalam tentang pengalaman dan persepsi siswa terhadap pembelajaran IPAS dengan pendekatan EMC2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan EMC2 secara signifikan meningkatkan sikap sosial emosional dan kesejahteraan psikologis siswa. Siswa menunjukan (1) peningkatan rasa percaya diri. (2) kemampuan berinteraksi sosial. (3) pengelolaan emosi. Penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang pendidikan dengan menawarkan pendekatan baru yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis melalui pembelajaran IPAS. Temuan ini dapat dijadikan acuan bagi pendidik dalam merancang program pembelajaran yang holistik dan mendukung perkembangan sosial emosional siswa.

Abstract

Mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat meningkatkan rasa cinta dan bangga terhadap budaya sendiri serta membantu siswa memahami nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan siswa dan guru terhadap bahan ajar pada materi menanggapi dan menganalisis bacaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey pada siswa dan guru Bahasa Indonesia kelas VII di SMP Muhammadiyah Rappang. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dan guru setuju untuk mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal untuk memahami materi pembelajaran. Kearifan lokal yang dibutuhkan adalah konsep Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, dan Sipakainge. Jenis bahan ajar yang disukai adalah cetak dan elektronik. Oleh karena itu, disarankan untuk mendesain dan mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal untuk penguatan karakter berbasis profil pelajar Pancasila. Dengan demikian, integrasi kearifan lokal dalam bahan ajar materi menanggapi dan menganalisis bacaan merupakan suatu kebutuhan yang penting untuk memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa serta membangun karakter yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai budaya dan Pancasila.

Abstract

Make Learning Fun is a strategy for kampus mengajar students' classroom management that focuses on creating an interesting and interactive learning environment for students. This approach aims to prevent boredom in the learning process. This study examines classroom management strategies implemented by students who are members of the Kampus Mengajar program at SDN 4 Bedahan Depok. The researcher used a qualitative approach with a case study research design. In this study, researchers used NVivo 12 Pro software to code data from the results of data collection of interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings of this study show that the implementation of strategies in classroom management through the Make Learning Fun program was the first time created by kampus mengajar students at SDN Bedahan 4 Depok. Students are able to think innovatively in classroom management by making the learning process not only transfer knowledge but also create a fun, interesting, interactive learning atmosphere according to the needs of students without eliminating aspects of learning objectives. The findings of this study can be described as follows: (1) Student Strategies in Classroom Management; (2) Student Implementation of Classroom Management; and (3) Make Learning Fun as a Student Strategy in Classroom Management.
