Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the responses of academic programs in Indonesia to issues surrounding the changing roles of the accounting profession, digitalization, and the era of sustainability. The research employed both qualitative and quantitative approaches, utilizing data collection techniques such as surveys, documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews. There is a prevalent opinion that the accounting profession will diminish due to the substitution of human roles with robots because of digitalization. According to the findings from a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), participants revealed that technological advancements have significantly impacted accounting jobs. Financial statements can now be prepared using information technology applications and financial reporting software. These tools not only simplify and accelerate the work of accountants but also imply that the performance of accountants who do not utilize information technology could be adversely affected due to the demands for timeliness and accuracy in their work. The outcomes obtained from the FGD further disclosed that despite the rapid development of information technology, which greatly aids the work of accountants, a professional accountant must possess adequate knowledge of the fundamental principles of accounting. FGD participants concurred that information technology cannot replace the accounting profession. This is because the job of an accountant is not limited to just preparing financial reports for companies or organizations; rather, a professional accountant must also be capable of performing financial data analysis.

Abstract

Earthquakes are one of the natural disasters whose arrival cannot be ascertained and have a very detrimental impact, both in terms of property losses and lives. Indonesia, with its very active tectonic plate conditions, often experiences earthquakes, so it needs an effective early warning system. BMKG has developed an early warning system that informs of earthquake events through various media. However, this system still has weaknesses in the speed of delivering information to the public. This research aims to design and make a prototype of an earthquake early warning tool that can send information in the form of notifications and warning alarms using the Telegram application. The use of Telegram as a medium for conveying information was chosen because of its high speed, security, and accessibility. This research was carried out at the Medan State Polytechnic using the MPU 6050 sensor to detect earthquake vibrations and send data to a database containing seismic information. The results of the research were able to make a prototype of an earthquake early warning tool that uses Telegram for the dissemination of warning information in real-time, so that people can more quickly take self-rescue actions. The integration of Telegram in the earthquake early warning system is expected to increase the effectiveness of information dissemination and can be a faster and more efficient solution in dealing with earthquake disasters in Indonesia

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to compare two fuzzy logic-based approaches, namely the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), in analyzing public sentiment toward the Kabinet Merah Putih. Methods: A dataset of 1,197 tweets was collected from Twitter (X) between October 2024 and April 2025 using specific keywords. After preprocessing and polarity measurement with TextBlob, the sentiment values were mapped into seven categories: strongly negative, negative, weakly negative, neutral, weakly positive, positive, and strongly positive. The classification was performed using both FIS and ANFIS. Evaluation metrics included accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and error rate (MSE and RMSE).Result: Experimental results show that FIS achieved an overall accuracy of 79.2%, performing well on majority classes but failing to identify several minority classes. In contrast, ANFIS obtained an accuracy of 92.5% with very low error (MSE = 0.0341, RMSE = 0.1848), demonstrating strong capability in classifying majority and several minority categories. Overall, ANFIS outperformed FIS, proving more effective in capturing sentiment patterns and aligning with the actual distribution of public opinion..Novelty: This study offers novelty by explicitly comparing the performance of FIS and ANFIS in multi-level sentiment analysis of Indonesian social media data, an approach that has not been explored in prior research.

Abstract

This study examines the philosophy of the Nias megalithic stones and their relevance for Catholic Youth (OMK) in the city of Gunungsitoli through a qualitative-ethnographic approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with traditional elders, community leaders, and Catholic youth; participatory observation in customary activities and religious devotions; as well as archival documentation, photographs, and field notes. Thematic analysis identified three clusters of values: resilience (perseverance, discipline, hope), community (mutual cooperation, deliberation, communio), and spirituality (awareness of Christ’s presence in cultural history). The findings show that megalithic stones continue to function as cultural archives, centers of social interaction, and pedagogical symbols for the character formation of Catholic youth. Within the framework of inculturation, these values are reinterpreted in catechesis, culturally rooted liturgy, and social action, without contradicting the Church’s teaching. The study concludes that faith-culture integration strengthens the dual identity of Catholic youth and encourages their role as agents of change in preserving the megalithic heritage and in pastoral ministry. Recommendations include digital documentation of sites, culturally based youth training, and ongoing collaboration between parishes, schools, and traditional leaders in the region.

Abstract

Child stunting remains a major public?health challenge across Asia, impairing growth, cognition, and lifelong productivity. Early risk identification is critical, yet conventional screening offers limited predictive power and scalability. This study evaluates machine?learning approaches for stunting prediction using routinely collected infant data, proposing XGBoost and benchmarking it against Logistic Regression and Random Forest. An Asian infant dataset was compiled, label encoding and standardization were applied, class imbalance was addressed with SMOTE, the three models were trained and hyperparameter tuning was performed within a reproducible pipeline. Performance was assessed using Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) and confusion matrices. XGBoost with SMOTE achieved the highest AUC (0.85), exceeding Random Forest (0.83) and Logistic Regression (0.73). Confusion?matrix analysis indicates that XGBoost separates stunted from non?stunted cases more effectively. Models trained without SMOTE performed worse, underscoring the value of imbalance correction. These findings suggest that ML assisted screening can enable earlier, data?driven risk stratification and targeted interventions. Practical deployment, however, may be constrained by the need for a GPU enabled computer and an IDE based workflow, motivating external validation and implementation refinement.

Abstract

It examined the relationship between objective rewards and development methodologies and employee retention, mediation of job satisfaction, and mediation by standard operating procedures (SOP). This study specifically relates to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 10, which seeks to reduce inequality whereby just and fair retention practices create an environment inclusive and fair work. The methodology for this research was quantitative - surveys were used as the main instrument for the collection of data. The data were collected from 92 respondents at the Asam-Asam PLTU in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. Path analysis was used for testing the formulated hypotheses. Performance appraisal results revealed that employee rewards and development methodologies influence job satisfaction and employee retention. Job satisfaction is a major encroaching variable because higher job satisfaction increases the likelihood that employees will stay in the organization. Furthermore, the implementation of transparent and equitable SOPs mediated the relationship between management strategies and employee retention, thereby ensuring that organizational practices were coherent and minimizing disparities among employees. These results imply that effective employee retention depends not only on financial incentives but also on perceptions of fairness and equal opportunity, which are facilitated by robust SOP. In summary, it recommends that for the organizations to attain higher employee retention rates, they'll have to measure accordance with SDG 10 by instituting systematic reward and development strategies under transparent SOPs, targeted at comprehensive job satisfaction improvement.
