It utilized a qualitative method of research which does not use standard instruments. It used the actual mode of instruction the respondents received from their teachers which they have listed and from among the list, they chose one as the best. It utilized BSED mathematics major students for school year 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, taking mathematics subjects of the University of Science and Technology of the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro City campus. Frequency, percentages and qualitative analysis of the data from respondents’ feedback on the mode of online instruction they experienced and the results revealed that the distance teaching-learning mode using Work text with whiteboard in Google meet for discussion and recording of classroom discourse was chosen the best mode of instruction. The researchers recommend that teachers in distance teaching-learning process may use the mode which uses Work text, whiteboard for discussion with recording of the whole classroom discourse episodes.

Abstract

Although there is a growing interest in the culture of thinking in education, detailed information about classroom interaction that can incorporate thinking culture is lacking, particularly in the Malaysian context. Additionally, past studies do not focus on Islamic education. This study aimed to explore the feedback of excellent teachers in classroom interactions to incorporate a thinking culture. A qualitative case study approach was adopted on six excellent teachers (ETS) in Islamic Education using purposive sampling. Data were collected via teaching observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Thematic analysis revealed five themes that represented ETs’ feedback in classroom interactions to enhance thinking culture: give praise, give reprimand and criticism, stimulate information seeking, evaluate information, and ask for clarification. This study added value to the description of teachers’ feedback to create a thinking culture, especially in Islamic Education classrooms in Malaysia. The findings indicated that teachers need to increase open feedback, be willing to listen to students’ views, use praise and criticism selectively, and be a trustee of students for a democratic classroom to be realized. This study is expected to strengthen the effectiveness of teaching that incorporates a thinking culture.

Abstract

This article results from research on language politeness in the learning process in the "Language Curriculum Evaluation and Design" class. Leech's politeness principle theory consists of six maxims: tact maxim, generosity maxim, appreciation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. This study aimed to find out the language politeness used in that class. Then, this study focused on the Lecturer's utterances to the students. The type of this study was descriptive qualitative. The instrument of this study was the researchers themselves and the audio recorder. The technique of collecting the data was tapping techniques to tap the conversation of the Lecturer with the students, field notes and observation. This research showed that Leech's politeness principles were used in that class. The maxim of politeness included tact maxim 22,7%, generosity maxim 13,6%, appreciation maxim 18,2%, modesty maxim 9,1%, agreement maxim 18,2%, and sympathy maxim 18,2%. Most of the maxims used in that class are tact maxims. After analyzing these six maxims, it is essential to have them when we are a lecturer teaching in the class. A teacher with the six maxims can control the class to run well.

Abstract

The primary trend of the ongoing digital transformation is the rapid socialization of the Internet. The crucial role in those processes is assigned to social networks. Integrating companies representing goods and services into social networks makes implementing a marketing strategy in a virtual environment urgent. Our literature review looked at the goals of a brand's social media presence and the expected benefits of that presence. Using a correlation-regression analysis, we have established the relationship between the media image of several global companies on social networks and the sales dynamics, value, and awareness of their brand. The hypotheses put forward were partially confirmed. However, the results showed no strong relationship between brand activity and brand audience in a social network and brand value and awareness. On the other hand, there wass a noticeable relationship between the size of the audience in a social network and the dynamics of the brand's revenue. Still, this influence turned out to be the opposite. Thus, the media image of a brand signifies the emergence of a kind of "digital effect" accompanied by concomitant phenomena of the relationship between the parameters of the audience size, revenue, value, and brand awareness. This constitutes the prospect of further research to clarify stable patterns.

Abstract

This study departs from findings that show that the turnover rate of employees at PT. Apparel One Indonesia in 2018 is 3.715% which exceeds the threshold set by the company by 2% each year, and the findings that the variables that explain the phenomenon of turnover intention are still different which then leads to the formulation of the problem regarding "how to reduce turnover". Based on these problems, this study developed a research model that was empirically tested to re-explain the variables that could affect turnover intention by using data obtained from interviews using a questionnaire to PT. Apparel One Indonesia's employees. The test was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The test results showed that work stress and family conflict had a significant adverse effect on organizational commitment. This study also shows that work stress and work-family conflict had a significant positive effect on turnover intention. In contrast, organizational commitment had a significant negative effect on turnover intention.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop learning tools to help children with learning disabilities of comorbid dyscalculia-dyslexia. The learning tools were developed using the 4D model. Each stage of development was conducted based on the materials focused on in this research, namely the topics of recognizing and understanding numbers, sorting numbers, and operating numbers. This study involved 280 students, ages between 7 and 8 years old, from four elementary schools. Students took a series of tests, and 11 students were found with comorbid dyscalculia-dyslexia. The results of this study provided an overview related to the learning tools developed, tested, and implemented in mathematics learning for students with dyscalculia and dyslexia. This finding was indicated by the analysis results of recognizing numbers, sorting numbers, and operating numbers using paired-sample t-tests (p< 0.05).
